phpDVD is a simple PHP script to keep track of your DVD collection. The information is stored in a MySQL database and an interface is provided to add, edit and delete entries.

Customizable fields allow you to display the details of importance to you; the default fields are: Title, Studio, Year, Aspect Ratio and Audio Format.

You can optionally link each title to its corresponding page at the Internet Movie Database, or to a URL of your choice. The look and feel is fully customizable through header/footer/style sheet templates.

bengsaver is a screensaver for KDE. It shows bouncing balls or bee swarms, with collision detection.

RFind indexes the filenames of a given directory, and allows you to quickly search this index with regular expressions. Search-on-typing with more than 500,000 indexed filenames is easily possible.

More prosaically, blogfish is a Gnome panel applet, written in Python using PyGTK and Gnome-python. It allows you to spread your blog URL, website URL or random thoughts to other users. Good memes survive; bad ones are voted down and go belly up.

Its a free software media manager written in C#, using GTK#. MediaNET runs on both Linux and Windows via the Mono effort ( Portable.Net should work too ), and could handle any type you want, as long as you have the right plugin.

Media types could be wide-known mp3, jpg, and avi, but also virtual types: the best example is the odb file handling ( odb for object database it implements ), which represents a collection.

KMouth is a KDE program which enables persons that cannot speak to let their computer speak, e.g. mutal people or people who have lost their voice.
Currently KMouth has an input field into which the user can type the phrases he wants to hear. Additionally the program contains a history of spoken phrases, a phrase book and word completion.
The user can select phrases from the history which he wants to be re-spoken or he can decide to put often used phrases into the phrases, so that they can be spoken with only few mouse clicks.
KMouth itself does not contain a speech synthesizer. Instead it assumes that a speech synthesizer is available in the system. Currently it either uses any shell command specified by the user or the the text-to-speech interface of KTTSD. (KTTSD, the KDE Text-To-Speech Daemon, a plug-in based KDE project that wants to provide both a standard text-to-speech interface for KDE applications and a simple-to-use configuration dialog for the user.)

GetCodecs is a simple applet written in python with a GTK2 GUI that downloads, installs, and configures your system to use the various multimedia formats (MP3, DivX, DVD, etc) that are not shipped with many distributions (such as RedHat).
