Python logging module 0.4.9.5

Python logging module 0.4.9.5

Python logging module is a logging module for Python for use with Python 1.5.2 through 2.2.x. more>>
The Python logging module implements a standard logging system for Python programs. It was strongly influenced by log4j from the Apache project.

As this package is included in versions 2.3 and later, only users of earlier versions of Python would need to install this module.

There was a need for a standard logging system in Python, as comprehensively documented in PEP 282 and enthusiastically endorsed by the BDFL in the Parade of the PEPs.

By a happy coincidence, the package described here was already in development and fairly close in intent and design to the description in the aforementioned PEP, borrowing as it did heavily from JSR-47 (now JDK 1.4s java.util.logging package) and log4j.

This page describes it in more detail. As I have tweaked the package to meet comments on PEP 282, I have structured this page in the same way as the original PEP.

This package is now part of Python 2.3, but if you have an earlier version of Python, you can download the package from here and use it with Python versions between 1.5.2 and 2.2.x.

PAM ListMySQL Module 0.1.3

PAM ListMySQL Module 0.1.3

PAM ListMySQL Module joins the functionality of both pam_mysql and pam_listfile. more>>
PAM ListMySQL Module joins the functionality of both pam_mysql and pam_listfile. PAM ListMySQL Module is used to search a list of tokens (pam_listfile) using a MySQL database as a source (pam_mysql).

Options:

The module options are listed below with default in ()s:

user("nobody")
The user with access to open the connection to MySQL
and has permission to read the table with the passwords.

passwd("")
Password for the MySQL user.

host("localhost")
Machine that is running the MySQL server.

db("mysql")
Name of database that contains the table with the user/password
combos.

table("user")
Name of table that you want to use for the user/password checking.
This can be a series of tables with full JOIN-style syntax if you
want more complex control. For example:
[table=Host LEFT JOIN HostUser ON HostUser.host_id=Host.id
LEFT JOIN User ON HostUser.user_id=User.id]

column("user.User")
Name of column that has the field describint the type identified by
type option.

where("")
Used to specify additional criteria for the query. Not that you probably
need to use libpams extended option format. For example:
[where=Host.name="web" AND User.active=1]

item("user")
Type of data to be searched for, can be one of:
user|tty|rhost|ruser|group|shell

sense("allow")
Action to take if found in table, if the item is NOT found in the table,
then the opposite action is requested (can be allow or deny)

conf_file("/etc/security/listmysql.conf")
Set the path of the configuration file, see the configuration example in
order to learn the syntax

Python Remote Call Module 0.0.3

Python Remote Call Module 0.0.3

Python Remote Call Module allows to transparently work with remote object in a python program. more>>
Python Remote Call Module allows to transparently work with remote object in a python program.
To make this possible a kind of peer-to-peer design is used. Servers can be created explictly, as can clients by explicitly connecting to a server. If a client needs to have a server, e.g. so a reference to a local object can be passed to a remote destination, it is instantiated as needed.
Clients can have multiple connections. New connections are created when needed, e.g. when a remote reference to a new server is recieved.
WARNING:
This module is still in its experimental phase, so it is kind of usable, but an awful lot of bugs is still in it, and quite a few parts are not coded yet, others arent even designed yet.
Therefor lots of changes and outdated documentation should be expected.
Enhancements:
- All previous stub objects have been replaced by a single stub object which uses on-demand retrieval of attributes of remote objects.
- This way, the behavior of the stub object is much more flexible and smoother.
- A first draft of an authentication framework has been implemented so PyRCall can support many different authentication methods.
- Support for username/password-based authentication has been implemented.

Payroll Perl Modules 1.3

Payroll Perl Modules 1.3

Business::Payroll is a series of Perl Modules that provides an API for working with multiple countries federal, state taxes. more>>
Business::Payroll is a series of Perl Modules that provides an API for working with multiple countries federal, state and local taxes.
Payroll Perl Modules project also supports calculating mileage reimbursement values and can handle adjustment entries.
The Business::Payroll module starts with an xml document in the Input format and if everything is successfull, outputs the results in the Output XML format.
Currently only the US is supported and MO is the only supported state. We are not supporting any cities in MO yet. Federal Income, FICA, Medicare and Mileage Rates are all being calculated. We take into account the number of allowances people can claim and the fact that you can withhold more for federal and state.
Federal Income tables are only available for any date >= 07/01/2001.
See the payroll_test.pl script and input.xml file for a sample implementation.
Use process_payroll (in the /usr/bin directory after an rpm install, otherwise in the payroll-x.y directory) to actually process payroll files for real.
process_payroll will take the specified raw xml file and process it. If no errors occured, then you get the result on stdout. If you specify 2 file names the result will go into the second file. You can specify - (for the first file) and it will know to work with stdin. I.e. you can pipe the file to be processed. Ex. cat input.xml | process_payroll - would process input.xml from the stdin and then output the result to stdout.
Enhancements:
- This release has been updated to cover the 2006 tax changes.

After that you should open the file install-ups-tracking.php with your browser and follow the on-screen installation instructions. Please note that for proper script installation you should set the writable permissions to the /skin1/main/history_order.tpl template file. You can do it by running the following command if using shell or an FTP client:

chmod 777 skin1/main/history_order.tpl

If there is a control panel available on your hosting, you certainly can change the permissions there.

Notice, the module is currently available for X-Cart 4.0.x only. However, if youre running another version of X-Cart, contact us and well try to find a solution for you.

Python config module 0.3.6

Python config module 0.3.6

Python config module is a hierarchical, easy-to-use, powerful configuration module for Python. more>>
Python config module allows a hierarchical configuration scheme with support for mappings and sequences, cross-references between one part of the configuration and another, the ability to flexibly access real Python objects without full-blown eval(), an include facility, simple expression evaluation, and the ability to change, save, cascade, and merge configurations.
It interfaces easily with environment variables and command line options. Python config module has been developed on Python 2.3, but should work on version 2.2 or greater.
Usage
The simplest scenario is, of course, "Hello, world". Lets look at a very simple configuration file simple.cfg where a message to be printed is configured:
# The message to print (this is a comment)
message: Hello, world!
and the program which uses it:
from config import Config
# You can pass any file-like object; if it has a name attribute,
# that name is used when file format error messages are printed
f = file(simple.cfg)
cfg = Config(f)
print cfg.message
which results in the expected:
Hello, world!
A configuration file is, at the top level, a list of key-value pairs. Each value, as well see later, can be a sequence or a mapping, and these can be nested without any practical limit.
In addition to attribute access (cfg.message in the example above), you can also access a value in the configuration using the getByPath method of a configuration: cfg.getByPath(message) would be equivalent. The parameter passed to getByPath is the path of the required value. The getByPath method is useful for when the path is variable. It could even be read from a configuration.
There is also a get method which acts like the dictionary method of the same name - you can pass a default value which is returned if the value is not found in the configuration. The get method works with dictionary keys or attribute names, rather than paths. Hence, you may call cfg.getByPath(a.b) which is equivalent to cfg.a.b, or you can call cfg.a.get(b, 1234) which will return cfg.a.b if it is defined, and 1234 otherwise.
Enhancements:
- This release makes classes derive from an object (previously, they were old-style classes).
- ConfigMerger has been changed to use a more flexible merge strategy.
- Multi-line strings (using """ or ) are now supported.
- A typo involving raising a ConfigError was fixed.

Apache Intrusion Detection Module 1.0

Apache Intrusion Detection Module 1.0

Apache Intrusion Detection Module is a simple tool to find out intrusion attempts by examining the client requests in real time. more>>
Apache Intrusion Detection Module is a simple tool to find out intrusion attempts by examining the client requests in real time.

This is a simple attempt to build an Intrusion Detection Module for Apache. It is being run at two different sites successfully but there is a performance penalty as the module intercepts all object requests and examines with the list of vulnerable CGI applications.

Issuing a simple make should do in most cases; at worst tweak with the Makefile. The make process will compile mod-id as a apache DSO module, if your server has no DSO support you will need more time...

Any suggestions and improvements are welcome.

Scrape::USPS::ZipLookup Perl Module 2.4

Scrape::USPS::ZipLookup Perl Module 2.4

Scrape::USPS::ZipLookup Perl Module provides a programmatic interface to United States Postal Service. more>>
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has on its web site an HTML form at http://www.usps.com/zip4/ for standardizing an address. Given a firm, urbanization, street address, city, state, and zip, it will put the address into standard form (provided the address is in their database) and display a page with the resulting address.
Scrape::USPS::ZipLookup Perl Module provides a programmatic interface to this service, so you can write a program to process your entire personal address book without having to manually type them all in to the form.
Because the USPS could change or remove this functionality at any time, be prepared for the possibility that this code may fail to function. In fact, as of this version, there is no error checking in place, so if they do change things, this code will most likely fail in a noisy way. If you discover that the service has changed, please email the author your findings.
If an error occurs in trying to standardize the address, then no array will be returned. Otherwise, a four-element array will be returned.
To see debugging output, call $zlu->verbose(1).
