libdv 0.104
libdv is a software decoder for DV format video. more>>
The Quasar DV codec (libdv) is a software codec for DV video, the encoding format used by most digital camcorders, typically those that support the IEEE 1394 (a.k.a. FireWire or i.Link) interface.
libdv was developed according to the official standards for DV video: IEC 61834 and SMPTE 314M.
Libdv can decode most DV streams, and has a fairly mature encoder. A fair amount of x86 optimized code is in place, although I estimate we are still 2-3x slower than the best commercial software codecs.
There are a number of sample applications included with libdv, including playdv and encode.

FooBillard is a free OpenGL-billard game for Linux with realistic physics, AI-player and many gametypes like pool carambol or snooker. Why foo? Well, actually I had this logo (F.B.-Florian Berger) and then foo sounds a bit like pool (Somehow I wasnt quite attracted by the name FoolBillard) The main physics is quite mature but not yet perfect. If you are a billard-pro and youre missing some physics, please tell me. Cause Ive implemented it like I think it should work, which might differ from reality.
There are two supported implementations concerning the interface. A GLUT and an SDL implementation. So you need to have either GLUT or SDL installed on your system Furthermore libpng has to be installed for loading the textures and freetype2 is required for font rendering.

- shadow pixmaps
- detail switching of balls according to distance
- zoom in/out - hold right mousebutton
- FOV +/- - hold right mousebutton + CTRL

mysqlcppapi 1.7.5
mysqlcppapi is a C++ API for MySQL, forked off from MySQL++. more>>
mysqlcppapi is a C++ wrapper for the MySQL C API library.
It is a branch of the MySql++ project, but it has diverged significantly for the following reasons:
MySQL++ is aggressively optimised for speed, but optimisation should happen after the design is mature, and that optimisation should be targeted. Premature optimisation obscures the design and prevents it from improving.
MySQL++ provides too many ways to do things instead of deciding on an interface. Again, this obscures the design.
MySQL++ uses preprocessor macros to an extent that is unacceptable in a C++ library.
These considerations mean that the interface has changed significantly and some areas of functionality have been removed completely because they are not maintainable.
Some of this functionality may be added in future versions if it can be implemented in a sensible way. New types of interfaces should be added by subclassing or aggregating the existing simple classes rather than complicating the existing interfaces.
As of mid-2005 the MySQL++ library is in new hands and is much improved. It is worth noting that MySQL++ is more actively maintained than mysqlcppapi and it might be a better choice to use.

irrXML 1.2
IrrXML is a high speed and easy-to-use XML parser without external dependencies. more>>
irrXML is a simple and fast open source xml parser for C++. Why another xml parser? Becouse irrXML is much faster and its very simple.
It ideally fits into realtime projects which need to read xml data without overhead, like games. irrXML was originally written as part of the Irrlicht Engine but after it has become quite mature it now has become a separate project.
Main features:
- It it fast as lighting and has very low memory usage. It was developed with the intention of being used in 3D games, as it already has been.
- irrXML is very small: It only consists of 60 KB of code and can be added easily to your existing project.
- Of course, it is platform independent and works with lots of compilers.
- It is able to parse ASCII, UTF-8, UTF-16 and UTF-32 text files, both in little and big endian format.
- Independent of the input file format, the parser can return all strings in ASCII, UTF-8, UTF-16 and UTF-32 format.
- With its optional file access abstraction it has the advantage of reading easily not only from files but from any type of data (memory, network, ...). For example when used with the Irrlicht Engine, it directly reads from compressed .zip files.
- Just like the Irrlicht Engine for which it was originally created, it is extremely easy to use.
- It has no external dependencies, it does not even need the STL.
Enhancements:
- This release adds support for CDATA sections and some minor improvements to the API.

guitest 0.3.1
guitest is a Python helper library for testing Python GUI applications. more>>
guitest is a Python helper library for testing Python GUI applications. pyGTK support is most mature, and support for other toolkits is in progress.
guitest is a simple GTK application with its unit tests and doctests to demonstrate usage is provided in the package.
Documentation is severely lacking at the moment; you might find my EuroPython 2005 presentation (OO.org Impress, PDF) useful, although it is a bit outdated. Doctests are also very useful because they are always up to date.
Usage:
See python scripts in the examples subdirectory. There is no real
documentation yet, you may want to look into the EuroPython 2005 presentation
in OpenOffice.org Impress format (ep2005.sxi) which has a broad overview.
Doctests (see guitest/tests/*.py), although verbose, may be useful as
they are always up to date.
Enhancements:
- Very preliminary support for wxWidgets and Tkinter applications was added.
- A few minor bugs were fixed.

- Style cells (bold, italics, font size)
- Track changes (when did who enlist for what kind of job)
- Limit plan modification to a specific date range (e.g. "entry allowed starting dd-mm-yyy 12:00am")
- Password-protected plan entry
- Localizable to different languages (english/german supported out-of-the-box)
- System easy relocatable (just move the installation to another directory)
- Admin login / password protected plans need browser cookie support
Enhancements:
- This release implements the "entry end date" and "plan description" features requested by a user.

Waif 0.59.7
Waif is a console audio unfrontend. more>>
Waif is a console audio unfrontend. That means that between the business of choosing the files to listen to and listening to them, there is no interface to hijack a controlling terminal, hog up screen space, or waste a perfectly good xterm.
It also ends the hassle of restarting a player moving from one display to another. Waif works all its magic in the background leaving you free to do more important work.
Waif is flexible and robust, supporting a wide number of file formats (MP3, Ogg, WAV, RealPlayer, MIDI, audio CD, and more) and a wide number of helper applications including mpg123, mpg321, ogg123, freeamp, and xmms.
Whats New in This Release:
ID3v2 is now supported with the ~/.waifrc configuration file entry:
id3v2=1
Id3lib and id3v2 are required for id3v2 support.
CD tracks listed in show output that have CDDB information will be aligned now, e.g.,
* Now Playing *
[ 1] (CD Track 2) Eric Clapton - Bad Boy
* show format : 9 - 10 *
[ 9] (CD Track 10) Eric Clapton - Dont Know Why
[10] (CD Track 11) Eric Clapton - Let It Rain
Are there any more show cases where alignment needs to be fixed?
