Download Manager project is a GNOME download manager.
Download Manager (also known as downman) is a suite of programs that assist with downloading files. It features a GNOME 2 GUI.

The Apache::FileManager module is a simple HTML file manager. It provides file manipulations such as cut, copy, paste, delete, rename, extract archive, create directory, create file, edit file, and upload files.
It also has the ability to rsync the server htdocs tree to another server with the click of a button.
Enhancements:
- prevented file edit screen from opening when cancel is clicked when creating new filenames
- fixed up documentation

VFU is console (text mode) file manager for UNIX/Linux.

During the years I tried to make short attractive list of features which VFU has. Attractive as Advertising above :) and it does not seem to work... at least it didnt for me and I never liked it.

I made all possible to make VFU cover all file managing needs and offer large set of behaviour options. If I succeeded or not, you can decide for yourself but without trying I believe noone can say for sure.

Installation:

1. how to compile vfu

run `make from vfu base directory

this should compile everything

to compile each part of vfu manually do this:

-- go to `vslib directory
-- run `make
-- go to `vfu directory
-- run `make

if something goes wrong, check these:

-- if your `curses.h file locations is not `/usr/include/ncurses
you have to change this in the Makefile.

-- if vslib library is not in the `../vslib directory you also
have to change this in the Makefile.

2. how to install vfu

run `install script from vfu base directory

install script checks if all required files are available/built and then does this:

cp vfu/vfu rx/rx_* /usr/local/bin
cp vfu.1 /usr/local/man/man1
cp vfu.conf /usr/local/etc

3. how to install vfu manually

-- you have to copy `vfu in the `/usr/local/bin or
`/usr/bin directory and set mode to 755 `rwxr-xr-x
the owner is not significant ( root is also possible ).

-- there is preliminary man page ( vfu.1 ) which could be
copied to /usr/man/man1.

-- copy all `rx/rx_* tools to /usr/local/bin
-- install Net::FTP perl module if needed.
(this is used for FTP support)

WARNING: make sure to remove all old personal cache files!

Alert Manager was created to run an alert command, monitor the status of that commands output, and guarantee that if something goes wrong it wont go unnoticed.
Alert Manager has been successfully deployed in several fortune 500 companies providing guaranteed alert delivery and command execution.
It has a very flexable configuration file that allows creation of "alert chains" - chains of commands, each with their own fallback command, failure command, timeout, retry counter, and other advanced options.
It has a method for passing messages from the command line into the various commands defined in the configuration file
Main features:
- Runs any system command (defined in configuration file) and has several methods for verifying that it executed successfully.
- Logs all activity to a file.
- Has a method to prevent infinite loops of failing commands.
- Supports user definable variables in the configuration file that can be used later in that file.
- Script returns error status to the system when an error occurs and logs a detailed message.
- Verbose error messages to STDOUT if something goes wrong.
- Multiple debugging levels.
Enhancements:
- Fixed a bug in configuration file parsing that would cause alertManager to process some commented lines when it should have ignored those lines.
- Add support for passing the "message" in via STDIN. Just use a "-m stdin" and pipe some text to alertManager.
- Set SIGCHLD to IGNORE so children can exit on their own without waiting for the parent to reap them or exit.

qSheff is a a email filter and a wrapper for the qmail queue that scans email for viruses and spam. Infected messages are rejected before they reach the queue, so the server doesnt perform any job for them. After checking the message, it will wake the qmail queue.

BCD396T Manager controls the Uniden BCD396T scanner. It supports full radio remote control, systems programming, and scanner settings.

It was written on a fedora core 3 linux system but with minor changes, could be made to run on any system that has tcl/tk installed.

Youll need a few tcl/tk helper apps in order to run BCD396T Manager:

- The Widget Callback Package: Wcb
- The Multi-Entry Widget Package: Mentry
- The Multi-Column Listbox Package: Tablelist
- You will also need the Bwidget package.

These will need to be installed in your tcllib directory, -ie- /usr/lib/tcl8.4

Installation:

Install the program by extracting the tarball into a new directory. Execute the program, bcd396t.tcl.

A quick note about editing the system files. It seems that, using the tablelist widget, you must hit Enter to finish the edit of the cell.

M3U-Playlist Manager is an administration of loose m3u-playlists in tree structure. Simple mouse-click to add or remove a song from playlist with currently running Song in the Player.

Gnome Bling Manager is an interface to easily configure gnome desktop effects.

With the variety of different ways to enable effects in desktop, users will be like to turn it on or off, an easy tool to do it will help them configure their desired effects for their desktop.

A desktop menu entry will be created in "System > Preferences > Graphical Desktop Effects" that will configure Xgl/Compiz or xcompmgr based effects.

The interface must easily allow user to configure their desired effects based on what effects and method they choose.
