SwingGlue 0.2a
SwingGlue is an ultra thin glue layer for more transparent MVC design in Swing. more>>
Swing Glue is an ultra thin layer that allows to decouple view, controller and model into separate individual domains.
It as not just another framework as you might think now. It is an very generic layer that has a minimal impact to the application where swing glue is used.
Main features:
- Object repository that minimizes transport of references
- automatic population of Adhesive class members from the repository
- abstraction of view code and event code
- no wrapping component classes, you still use the normal Swing classes
Swing Glue is proof for the legend that a framewok does not necessarly has to be a Bloat of code that helps you to simplify your development.
It also works with a simple framework that is non evasive and has a very simple code base.

Racer 0.5.2 beta8.9
Racer is a free car simulation project, using real car physics to get a realistic feeling. more>>
Racer is a free car simulation project, using real car physics to get a realistic feeling. Cars, tracks, scenes and such can be created with relative simplicity in mind (compared to other driving simulations).
The 3D and other file formats are, or should be, documented. Editors and support programs are also available to get a very flexible and expandable simulator. It uses OpenGL for rendering.
It attempts to do well at the physics section, trying to create life-like cars to emphasize car control and doesnt cut back on realism in the interest of fun. If youve played Grand Prix Legends from Papyrus, youll know what Im talking about.
Racer major features:
- Its totally free! (for non-commercial use)
- Available for multiple platforms; Windows 2000/XP (95/98/ME may work but have some trouble with fonts), Linux and Mac OS X.
- 6 DOF models used (the car can move around freely)
- Uses motion formulae from actual engineering documents from SAE for example.
- Total flexibility; almost everything is customizable through ASCII files.
- Commercial-quality rendering engine (with smoke, skidmarks, sparks, sun, flares, vertex-color lit tracks).
- Support for Matrox Surround Gaming. See the corresponding page on Matrox site.
- Lots of addon cars and tracks available on the web.
- Easy integration of your own cars and tracks that you create in ZModeler, 3D Studio Max(tm), Maya etc.
- At least 15 degrees of freedom for a regular car (6 DOF for the car body, 1 for each wheels vertical motion and 1 for each wheel spinning, and 1 for the engine, several more for the driveline). Depending actually on how many wheels you put on the car.
- Real-time internal clock; no physical dependency on framerate. Controller updates are also done independently of the framerate.
- Not limited to 4 wheels; anything from 2 to 8 wheel vehicles are currently supported (but mostly untested, and some problems with hardcoded differentials for example may exist (v0.5.0)).
- Not much constraints on the track data; surface info is taken from polygon data (VRML tracks), and splines are used to smooth out the track surface (polygons are too harsh for driving on just like that).
- Tools to modify the cars & tracks are freely available on this site (though external utilities are recommended for best results).
- Some used algorithms are explained on this site. Also, references are available. If you are programming a carsim, you might find something useful here.
- Save game present!
Main features:
PHYSICS FEATURES
- Full 6 degree of freedom motion of the car chassis.
- Independent suspension for all wheels.
- Suspension features: springs, dampers, anti-rollbar, rollcenter, anti-pitch.
- Wheel features: camber, wheel hop (the wheels have mass), toe.
- Tires: Pacejka tire model, relaxation length.
GRAPHICS FEATURES
- View frustum culling for increased framerate.
- Shader system for Quake-style rendering.
- Fog definable per track.
- Environment mapping for shiny materials.
- Live track environment mapping.

Kpl 3.3
Kpl is a program for two- and three-dimensional graphical presentation of data sets and functions. more>>
Kpl is a program for the KDE project (K Desktop Environment). Kpls purpose is the two- and three-dimensional graphical presentation of data sets and functions.
Multidimensional nonlinear parameter fits of functions to data sets can be performed using the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. Also general linear least square parameter fits are possible.
A DCOP interface can be used to control Kpl by other applications and scripts.
All settings necessary for a complete description of the presentation can be saved in plot files. These files as well as data files may be chosen by command line parameters, using the File menu, or by drag and drop.
Automatic scaling and normalization allow the easy graphical presentation of data. Also parameter fits can be performed automatically.
The settings of a presentation may be changed using the Edit menu. Here also additional data sets and functions can be included which can be displayed in the same as well as in different data windows.
Currently language support is given for english and german.
Kpl is free software, released under the GNU General Public License.
Enhancements:
- Multiple spline items can be fitted simultaneously to the same array item.
- Colored symbol pixmaps are displayed in item list.
- Text of legend and text items is displayed in item list.

Sequence Analysis 1.6.0
Sequence Analysis project is a collage of coding projects. more>>
Sequence Analysis project is a collage of coding projects which I have written over the past several years for various clients in my work as a bioinformatics consultant.
These clients have graciously allowed me to release these works into the public domain as freeware for Macintosh OS X in order to promote the platform and to encourage migration from Classic.
The upper window panel can hold several sequences, which are both editable and selectable. The tabs in the lower analysis panel try to keep up with the current sequence selection to provide immediate feedback. The selection is used in some modules as only the portion being analyzed for other modules i.e. Digest is used to determine if enzymes cut in the in or outside of the selection.
Most commonly available sequence formats have been reverse engineered. You can also access a sequences from the NCBI via its GID or UID. This currently cannot be done from behind a firewall.
Most of the analyses are simple enough that they are obvious to use, Composition, pI. Others could stand some documenation i.e. Pairwise and Primer Design. The Publish tab uses a string to control the layout. Click on the Legend button for some help.

SoundTracker 0.6.8
SoundTracker is a music tracking tool for Unix / X11 similar in design to the DOS program FastTracker. more>>
SoundTracker is a music tracking tool for X11 / Unix similar in design to the DOS program FastTracker and the Amiga legend ProTracker. Samples can be lined up on tracks and patterns which are then arranged to a song.
Supported module formats are XM and MOD; the player code is the one from OpenCP. A basic sample recorder and editor is also included. SoundTracker is free ("open source") software, licensed under the GNU GPL.
The basic concept is very simple: you have a number of sound samples, and you can arrange them on so-called tracks. A track (also called "channel") can not play more than one sample at the same time. Whereas the original Amiga trackers only provided four tracks (this was the hardware limit), modern trackers can mix a virtually unlimited number of channels into one sound stream, applying various effects to the samples used.
Tracks which are played at the same time are grouped to form a pattern. A pattern typically has 64 entries per track; these entries are cycled through at equidistant time intervals. A basic drum set could thus be arranged by putting a bass drum at entries 0, 4, 8, 12 etc. of one track and putting some hihat at entries 2, 6, 10, 14 etc. of a second track. Of course you can also interleave bass and hats on the same track, if the samples are short enough -- they cant overlap, otherwise the previous sample is stopped when the next one sets in -- look at the screen shots for a more visual explanation.
Finally, a module is a compact file containing various patterns and samples, including a position list which specifies playback order of the patterns, forming a song. SoundTracker can load modules of the popular XM and MOD formats. The also very popular IT format is not supported at the moment.

Helherron 2.04
Helherron is a fantasy RPG game for PC computers. more>>
Helherron is a fantasy RPG game for PC computers.
The isle of Helherron is at chaos. Beloved King Krohl has been kidnapped. Nobody knows by whom, but the legends are wild. The villagers tell, still shaking in terror, that it was done by dark, winged man-like creatures that took off to the sky shrieking, with poor King Krolh with them.
And worse yet, the isles seem to be cursed somehow. Its hard to determine how, but you sure can feel it. It hangs in the air heavy, like a Shadow of Death, and you can see it shimmering bloody red in the horizon of the night sky.
The villagers tell that just lately, after King Krolh was kidnapped, their villages have been raided by grotesque cross-breeds between man and beast. Most apparently that is also due to the Curse placed over Helherron and its sister isles. But the worst is yet to be told.
The Divine Sceptre, given to the people of Helherron by the Divine Cleric Order and crafted by the Creator itself, which was at King Krolhs possession, is now missing too. It was most apparently stolen at the same time King Krolh was kidnapped. Thus, the only hope for Helherron is to send a party of heroes to find the Divine Sceptre so that order and peace can be once again returned.

Jooky 0.99h
Jooky is an mp3 controller. more>>
Jooky is an mp3 controller. I wrote it so that I can do any of:
Run it in the foreground in a curses screen.
Run it in the background and control it using itself as a client via tcp/ip from another host or the same host.
Run it from /etc/inittab and control it as above.
It also can play in random order (scramble).
The reason for the client/server is that I can now control it with LIRC. (Linux infrared control)
To run the command line based server, simply run jooky with no options in a terminal. Youll get an ncurses based screen interface to play with. The legend at the bottom will show you how to use it. It takes all of a minute to learn how to use it. If you know vi, then its even simpler. Any files that cant be played because there is no player for them, will be dimmer
than the others. Up and Down arrows are the same as j and k. Right and Left arrows adjust volume. Pgup and Pgdn take you up and down half a screen, as do capital J and capital K.
NEW! as of 0.96. "m" changes the Mixer knob, and right and left arrow adjust the current knob. Give it a try. aumix and read/write permission to /dev/mixer are required.

Create easy to maintain HTML widgets!
Everything is optional, use validation only or just generate forms, you can embed and merge them later.
The API was designed similar to other popular modules like Data::FormValidator and FormValidator::Simple, HTML::FillInForm is also built in (and much faster).
This Module is very powerful, dont misuse it as a template system!
