BlackRhino is a free Debian-based GNU/Linux software distribution for the Sony PlayStation 2. It contains over 1,200 software packages to aid in using and creating programs for the Sony PlayStation 2 Linux kit.

The programs range in functionality from simple games, to text editors, compilers, web servers, windowing systems, database systems, graphics packages, mail servers and a variety of other tools and utilities.

The software distribution was created by xRhino for a commercial Sony PlayStation 2 title. It is released in the hopes that the distribution will help hobbyists create their own games and applications that utilize the advanced programmable hardware of the PS2.

GQmpeg is a front end to various audio players, including mpg123, ogg123, and xmp. Also works with mpg321. It includes playlist support and is very configurable.

oss2jack creates an OSS device which redirects its input and output to the Jack Audio Connection Kit. oss2jack supports a large subset of the OSS specification, including full duplex I/O and mmap.
oss2jack uses Jeremy Elsons useful fusd library to create a userspace character device, which is also a jackd client.
It supports mono and stereo streams, with virtually any sample rate thanks to libsamplerate. Only the commonly-used OSS ioctls are currently supported.
Enhancements:
- A few minor bugs that prevented smooth operation with Asterisk were fixed.
- In addition, oss2jack can now host jackd, allowing the user to run a long chain of processes with oss2jack and jackd.

Crash Recovery for Linux sounds a bit superfluous. Linux is regarded as one of todays most stable Operating Systems. In the case of some hardware failure like a broken disk it can however be handy.
Of course your machine doesnt have to have linux installed to make use of the CRK kit. There are several uses and purposes for the CRK to be used. To name a few :
- recovery of a trashed LILO boot record. How many times does it happen that some person installs windows 98/95 after he/she installed linux? Well in that case windows 9X just overwrites the MBR record and linux wont be able to boot anymore.
- backup over the network in the form of tar.gz tarballs. Both FAT16, FAT32, ext2 and all filesystems which Linux supports in a read/write fashion can be taken care of. The strong part of the CRK is when a disk is replaced or repartitioning is being done. The CRK boots a complete mini linux with networking where all possible hardware which is inside the Linux kernel is available.
- Testing hardware of new intel based machines.
- Detecting versions and types of hardware. The Linux kernel holds a large database of hardware supported. Booting a linux kernel doesnt only resolve if the hardware is ok, it also show its specs. This can be handy if one wants to check-out an old/new PC which is for sale.
- Recovery of a misconfigured or hacked Linux system. Well that can happen. /etc/fstab can be wrong or the root password is unknown etc.
- make a tape backup of a disk which cant be booted anymore.
The CRK is based on RedHat Linux. I have always used RedHat systems, thats why. When my system needed maintenance the rescue floppy image which RedHat supplies didnt fullfill my needs.
Thats why i created the CRK. Lately i use Mandrake. How and why the CRK was created read the short history. The CRK is licensed under the GNU Public License (GPL).

OBLISK, the Open Binary Linux Install System Kit, aims to make any package install on any modern GNU/Linux system.

OBLISK packages are sent in an appdir-like package, so they can be ran entirely in place, but also have an installer, so they can be installed to /usr, or any other path.

NCurses Development Kit for C++ provides a set of widgets for text user interface like menubars, popup menus, various dialog boxes, and controls (push buttons, check buttons etc.). Using this library you can easy create a powefull console program with compicated interface. А powerfull event engine allows you to create a various dynamic widgets.

There are two big branches of this library avaliable - main (head) and the ALT:

Main - original NDK++ library. This library is an extention of libncurses++ library. Event system is working like MFC.

ALT - full rewrite and redesign of the previous code. It not a superset of libncurses++ library, it uses only ncurses and panel libraries. It also uses a new event engine.

- Improvements were made to the Java and Perl wrappers and several functions were added for template expressions.

KOJAK (Kit for Objective Judgement and Knowledge-based Detection of Performance Bottlenecks) is a set of generic and interoperable tool components designed for the performance analysis of parallel applications.

Their functionality addresses the entire analysis process including instrumentation, postprocessing of performance data, and result presentation.

Particular emphasis is put on automation techniques to transform the collected data into a high-level view of performance behavior. An essential part of the software constitutes an integrated event-trace analysis environment for MPI and OpenMP applications.
