Beos provides a beautiful set of icons.
Matthew McClintock created a beautiful set of icons for Mac OS X, that I converted to create this icon theme about one the best desktop OS I know.
For the moment, the theme is not fully complete: some of the mime icons are defined. I will finalize it later.

Kitty 0.9.2
Kitty is a plain DTV and Kitty client for Linux. more>>
Kitty is a plain DTV and Kitty client for Linux. DTV is the well-known Internet TV service for Apple Mac users.
Now also KDE users can watch DTV on their desktops!
First of all you need some kind of media player for KDE.
Better if it offers a KPart object (player embedded in konqueror).
I used KMPlayer, which works and rocks. But Ive tried also Kaffeine that also do the job but has more problems streaming stuff.
This package (and the whole Kitty) was built on Slackware. Probably on your distro, KDE headers are elsewhere. Remember to run "configure" with the:
--prefix=/usr/kde/3.4
parameter. Or, if you dont know where your headers are, try with:
$ kde-config --prefix
/opt/kde
So, your prefix parameter is "/opt/kde"...
./configure --prefix=/opt/kde
...is your configure syntax.
And, the last thing is BitTorrent.
Kitty has an embedded BitTorrent front-end for downloading videos from Bittorrent sources but the original BitTorrent package is needed. Install that package and find out which is the "binary" that is the pure textual client (in the latest versions, is "bittorrent-console" but also should be "btdownloadheadless.py". Find out). Then put that name (eventually with full path) into the "Bittorrent" section of Kittys preferences.
Enhancements:
- Changed directories for videos. Now are in "my-media" !
- Lotsa more bugfixes
- Fixed the nasty bug that enables actions after feed selection
- Stop button in the interface (thx Daniel Faust)
- Now playing icon also into the KDE interface
- Extension is shown near thumbnails/icons (thx Daniel Faust)
- Changed icons for video/audio
- Fixed bittorrent frontend for multilingual clients.

Backstep 0.3
Backstep is a program that draws icons for minimized windows on your desktop. more>>
Backstep is a program that draws icons for minimized windows on your desktop. It doesnt depend on the window manager or on a desktop-drawing program (for example, I use it with Nautilus). It is meant to work with window managers that are EWHM compliant.
However, I only know for sure that it works with Metacity and Xfwm4. And I know that it doesnt work with Fluxbox and that it only partially works with Kwin (hopefully this will be corrected soon). I havent yet tested it with other window managers.
Drawing icons for minimized windows on the desktop might be considered a step backwards by many people (hence the name), but I find it useful to identify minimized windows by position rather than by name.
Main features:
- Simple to use. You dont have to configure anything - just run backstep.
- Session management support - at least to the extent that backstep adds itself to the session so that it will be started automatically the next time you log in to your desktop environment.
- Grouping. Windows can be grouped together (by right clicking on their icons and selecting a group) so that when one window from the group is shown or hidden, all windows in the group are shown or hidden.
- Configurable. You can make some adjustments to the way the icons look. This is done through a simple configuration dialog launched by right-clicking on an icon.
Backstep requires at least version 2.0 of the GTK+ toolkit. It uses the GNU build system and installs in the normal manner:
./configure &&
make &&
sudo make install
Now just run backstep
Enhancements:
- This release makes all the icon frames the same size.
- It also fixes a bug where window managers (like Metacity) that show an animation when a window is hidden would display the animation in the wrong place the first time the icon was shown.

FlexPlaylist for Noatun 0.4.9
FlexPlaylist is an attempt to create a playlist for Noatun. more>>
FlexPlaylist project can create a playlist for Noatun that suits users used to WinAmp XMMS style playlists.
Many people just dont use Noatun because they dont like the playlists and thus I decided to make my own one.
Main features:
- Choose own Font and Size instead of KDE-defaults
- Optionally can hide menubar, list-header, statusbar and toolbar to save space
- Show icon in first column
- Context-sensitive menu (also known as rightclick popupmenu) for common actions
- Use extended m3u playlistformat as native format instead of slower xml (itll still be able to load xml-playlists)
- Configurable keyboard-shortcuts for most actions
- Use alternating colors in listview (as seen in kmail and other kde-applications)
- Statusbar showing playtime of currently played title, overall playlist time and no. of playlist items
- Optional show some play controls in the statusbar
- Dockmode, user chooses the window to dock to
- "Jump to" dialog that lets you easily find files in huge playlists
- Autoresize columns, time takes as much space as needed, title column takes the rest
- Ignores files that cant be played by Noatun when trying to add them to the list
Enhancements:
- This release uses a more natural order when adding folders recursively (it dives into sub-folders before adding files from the current folder).
- The GUI uses standard icons for player controls in the status bar, and draws player controls in the status bar using drawing functions provided by the current KDE/Qt style.
- There are also some minor packaging changes (header checks and Debian packaging support).
