WebInject - Web/HTTP Test Tool 1.35
WebInject is a tool for automated testing of web applications and services. more>>
WebInject is a free tool for automated testing of web applications and services. It can be used to test individual system components that have HTTP interfaces (JSP, ASP, CGI, PHP, Servlets, HTML Forms, etc), and can be used as a test harness to create a suite of [HTTP level] automated functional, acceptance, and regression tests. A test harness, also referred to as a test driver or a test framework, allows you to run many test cases and collect/report your results. WebInject offers real-time results display and may also be used for monitoring system response times.
WebInject can be used as a complete test framework that is controlled by the WebInject User Interface (GUI). Optionally, it can be used as a standalone test runner (text/console application) which can be integrated and called from other test frameworks or applications.
WebInject uses an XML API (interface). This means you can use WebInject without ever seeing its internal implementation (no scripting or programming necessary to use it).
WebInject is written in Perl and can run on any platform that a Perl interpreter can be installed on (MS Windows, GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris, MAC OS, and many more). Currently, binary executables of WebInject are only available for MS Windows. If you would like to run on other platforms, you must have a Perl interpreter and run it from the Perl source code.
Test cases are written in XML files, using XML tags and attributes, and passed to the WebInject engine for execution against the application/service under test. This abstracts the internals of WebInjects implementation away from the non-technical tester, while using an open architecture [written in Perl] for those that require more customization or modifications.
Result reports are generated in HTML (for viewing) and XML (for tranformation by external programs). These detailed results include pass/fail status, errors, response times, etc. Results are also displayed in a window on the User Interface if you are running the WebInject GUI, and are sent to the STDOUT channel if you are running the WebInject Engine as a standalone (console) application.
HTTP response times can be collected and monitored in real-time during test execution. Timer statistics are calculated and displayed in a monitor window during runtime. When used along with gnuplot (a plotting utility), a response time graph is generated and updated in real-time as the test runs. This is used to verify responses from the application/service under test are within an acceptable range (to meet your SLA or quality of service criteria). This also enables WebInject to be run as a performance probe for application/service monitoring.

media-box 0.26
media-box is a dedicated media application. more>>
media-box is a program to watch all kind of multimedia files using a computer.
It suports playing DVD video, VideoCD, various movie files, Audio CD, various music files and watching various still pictures.
Main goal of this project is to have a dedicated computer in your living room by replacing your Hi-Fi component (DVD-player, CD-player). media-box runs in a linux environment so the need for computer power is very low.
Prefered system is a computer with at least 466MHz Celeron with 128MB of ram. Disk space is minimal, it works on 1GB partition but it can sure fit on a partition of 150MB or even less.
As it considers the sound output it is considered to have a sound card with digital out capabilities, so you can easily connect your computer with a dedicated external Dolby Digital receiver, but this is optional.
Graphics card should have a TV-Out feature, so you can watch your media content on TV. For getting the remote control over the whole program, you should make a hardware receiver or you can even buy one. Just make sure it is lirc compatible.
Software used to make this hardware work:
- debian - linux distribution
- xine-lib - library to play media content
- ati.2 - ATI drivers for XFree86 4.2.1 - to get TVOut working
- alsa - SB Live! drivers to get digital out sound
- lirc - remote control software
Enhancements:
- created upgrade script so on pressing n in main window will start an upgrade
- fixed start.sh script to use the /media-box/XF86Config-4 file
- size of screen is now calculated from the width and height of the back.jpg picture (was fixed to 800x600) - beware tvout works only on 800x600.
- fixed background of movie so it is black now. Subtitles of new xine lib displayed background image.
- added new types of files to play (based on extension)
- audio
- aac
- mp4

HTTP Proxy Client 0.8.5
HTTP Proxy Client is a set of libraries and scripts that provide transparent access to Internet. more>>
HTTP Proxy Client is the small set of libraries and scripts, which provides transparent access to Internet via HTTP proxy for programs, which uses TCP/IP for communication.
The list of programs includes: telnet, ftp, licq, cvs, smth else? Project implements dynamic library, that can be preloaded before program run.
The library substitutes some system calls (connect(), gethostbyaddr(), gethostbyname()), with calls, which makes TCP/IP connection through HTTP proxy. This allows client programs behind HTTP proxy work with Internet without limitations.
At the moment tested on i386 Linux, i386/sparc Solaris.
Enhancements:
- While using dotted address, applications will attempt to connect regardless DNS lookup result.

HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX 4.0
HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX is a pile-up KNOPPIX. more>>
HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX is a "pile-up" KNOPPIX linux distribution. HTTP-FUSE KNOPPIX downloads pieces of Root Filesystem from a HTTP server when the piece is requested, although normal KNOPPIX requires whole 700MB ISO image at first. The piece is "piled up" on your PC.
The first minimum parts of HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX are bootloader with "Linux kernel" and "miniroot". The size is only 6MB. The rest of parts "ROOT file system" which size is 700MB is downloaded on demand as a small piece of block device.
The original block device which includes ROOT file system is split into small data-piece. Each small data-piece is compressed and saved to a file. The files are called "split-and-compressed block files". Split-and-compressed block files is downloaded when it is required. Split-and-compressed block files compose a virtual block device with HTTP-FUSE.
HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX selects ROOT file system at boot time. It means HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX doesnt make a CD-ROM for customization. It just upload the customized Root File system on HTTP server.
Furthermore the uploaded "split-and-compressed block files" for customized KNOPPIX are difference only. The most split-and-compressed blocks files are shared between original KNOPPIX and customized KNOPPIX. The feature makes small volume of a server when customized KNOPPIX is added.

mod_authz_ldap 0.26
mod_authz_ldap is an Apache LDAP Authorization module. more>>
mod_authz_ldap is an Apache LDAP Authorization module.
What it does:
This Apache LDAP authentication/authorization module tries to solve the following problems that other such modules may not solve in all cases:
- Map the short form of the distinguished name of a certificate and its issuer obtained from the environment of mod_ssl to a user distinguished name in an LDAP directory.
- Check the age of a password in an LDAP directory, denying authorization in case - the password is to old.
Authorize a user based on roles or an arbitrary LDAP filter expression.
- Authorize a user based on whether he owns a file or belongs to the group owning a file.
The module can perform an ordinary LDAP authentication using an LDAP bind call, but is incapable of verifying an SHA1 or crypt password hash from the directory, as mod_auth_ldap can.
The module also tries to do reduce LDAP connection overhead by caching a connection between requests (one per server record). This is most likely to improve performance in the case of certificate authentication, as for basic authentication a bind to the directory on a new connection is necessary with every request. Future development may add a cache to improve performance.
Version 0.8 added the ability to use the cache built into some client libraries, most notably OpenLDAP. However, it turned out that the cache for OpenLDAP 2.0.7 does not work, and only causes Apache to dump out the contents of BER buffers instead of authenticating users.
mod_authz_ldap uses some functions from libraries that are only available on Unix systems, it will most probably not work on a Win32 system. There are no plans to fix this problem.
Of course there are other modules that perform LDAP authentication. Not mentionning them here does not mean that they are insignificant, quite the contrary is true. But as far as I know, none of these alternatives does either certificate mapping or password aging.
