LDAPDNS 2.0.6

LDAPDNS 2.0.6

LDAPDNS is an LDAP to DNS gateway. more>>
ldapdns is a fast and rhobust root-nameserver that can outperform bind and djbdns on medium to large installations, and will scale well both up and down.

the secret is that ldapdns uses a threaded core, and takes advantage of an external directory. its extremely simple, and it does not run under user-control as root.

its ideal for small and large installations, because it queries the ldap server directly, updates are immediate. you dont have to rebuild constant databases, or wait for bind to get its shit in gear.

but ldapdns is a work-in-progress. i use it on a production network, as do many others. but its up to you to make it best for your network.

RSS-IM Gateway 2.0

RSS-IM Gateway 2.0

RSS-IM Gateway is a tool for publishing an RSS feed over IM networks. more>>
The RSS-IM Gateway allows any site with an RSS feed to make their feed available via the IM network of their choice. It is very easy to set up.
Just create a new IM nick on your favorite network (links here) - something like "MySiteIM" always works - fill out the blanks in the config.im file, and your headlines are viewable on that network automatically, including from most cell phones if you use AIM or MSN. It works with AIM, ICQ, YIM and Jabber.
This project is a derivative of the SDBA Revolution IM Application Server version 1.85 and includes all files you will need. You will need to have an uptodate version of Perl with XML::RSS, in addition to the other libraries required.
Using:
- Make sure Perl is set up correctly, with all libraries (including XML::RSS!).
- Open config.im and put in your chosen nick and password for the bot, edit the network (default is AIM), and put in the URL to your feed.
- Start sdba.pl from the command line.
- Message the nick you chose from any IM client.

autonet 0.5.0

autonet 0.5.0

autonet looks up existing network configuration files and probes the network. more>>
autonet.py is a small application which looks up existing network configuration files, probes the network with arping in order to determine if it can connect and ideally set up a working internet connection and routing.

If no internet connection is available, autonet.py will parse each configuration file, extract different network setups and probe if the network environment works with this configuration.

The probing is done with arping. A bogus IP 0.0.0.0 is used in order to get the network interface up. Then autonet.py tries to arping the gateway.

If the gateway responds the configuration is considered good. At this point there is no routing, so only hosts within the subnet defined in the configuration is used.

If none of the gateways in the configuration works, the probe gets more brutal by just setting up the network interface according to the configuration file, and and ping the gateway. Again, no routes yet.

If a configuration is considered working (gateway is pingable), the route is set as described in the configuration file. An internet connection should be established then.

This is also checked by pinging k.root-servers.org (as default, override with --testhost), use an IP address here, as DNS is not handled by autonet (yet?).

There is a special feature in autonet.py for owners of some models of Asus notebooks. The package contains a module which uses two LEDs of the laptop to show activity.

While searching and probing, the blue LED is flashing, if a working configuration is found the orange LED flickers for a second. Also this will only work if you have the asus module in your kernel, and it has *not* widely been tested. Have a look at Asus.py for details.

Some common vars can be edited in autonet.py, such as locations of required programs and some common settings (of which timeout does not even work yet) but in most cases supplying reasonable commandline arguments should be sufficient.

As Gentoo has slightly different settings, there are two scripts for Gentoo users, to make integration into the Gentoo init system easier.

FakeIKEd 0.0.4

FakeIKEd 0.0.4

Fiked is a fake IKE daemon that supports just enough of the standards and Cisco extensions. more>>
Fiked is a fake IKE daemon that supports just enough of the standards and Cisco extensions to attack commonly found insecure Cisco PSK+XAUTH VPN setups in what could be described as a semi-MitM attack.
Basically, knowing the pre-shared key, also known as shared secret or group password, the VPN gateway can be impersonated in IKE phase 1, in order to learn XAUTH user credentials in phase 2.
The configuration supported by fiked is IKE aggressive mode using pre-shared keys and XAUTH. FakeIKEd supports algorithms like DES, 3DES, AES128, AES192, AES256, MD5, SHA1, and DH groups 1, 2, and 5. Main mode is not supported.
Basically, if you know the pre-shared key, also known as shared secret or group password, you can play Man in the Middle, impersonate the VPN gateway in IKE phase 1, and learn XAUTH user credentials in phase 2.
This attack is not new. It has been known for a long time that IKE using PSK with XAUTH is insecure, and this is not the first actual implementation of the attack.
To successfully demostrate an attack on a VPN site, you need to know the shared secret, and you must be able to intercept the IKE traffic between the clients and the VPN gateway.
There are several ways to find out the shared secret, including being a legitimate user, grabbing it from some Cisco config file, using ike-crack, or layer 8 hackery.
There are also several ways to redirect the IKE traffic to your running fiked instance, including ARP spoofing, 802.11 hostap, or layer 1 hackery.
Usage:
Usage: fiked [-rdqhV] -g gateway -k id:psk [-k ...] [-l file] [-L file]
-r use raw socket: forge source address to match < gateway >
-d detach from tty and run as a daemon (implies -q)
-q be quiet, dont write anything to stdout
-h print help and exit
-V print version and exit
-g gw VPN gateway address to impersonate
-k i:k pre-shared key aka. group password, shared secret, prefixed
with its group/key id (first -k sets default)
-l file append results to credential log file
-L file verbous logging to file instead of stdout
Enhancements:
- Bugfixes, portability changes, and support for dropping privileges.

TN3270 Resource Gateway 1.1.1

TN3270 Resource Gateway 1.1.1

TN3270 Resource Gateway is a TCP/IP TN3270 gateway. more>>
TN3270RG is a TCP/IP TN3270 gateway that dynamically assigns resources to a connection from a pool of available addresses. Features include an easy to use web interface for management and a PostgreSQL database backend.
It is useful if you have a large number of machines connecting to a TN3270 host, but for whatever reason the host itself cannot assign resources from a pool. TN3270 will keep track of a pool of resources in a PostgreSQL database (should work with other databases as well) and dynamically allocate a resource to each connnection that goes through it.
Simply configure the daemon so it knows the address of the real TN3270 host, set the resource pool up using the web management software, and point your clients to the address of the gateway.
In the client configuration set your resource to what you have the replacement token set to (!_TN3270RG_RESOURCE_! by default) and when the daemon sees that resource go by, it will substitute the resource it has allocated for the connection and pass the rest of the data stream unaltered to the host.
TN3270 Resource Gateway project is designed to be fast and stable and should recover gracefully from most errors including unexpected disconnections and database errors. It is written in Perl and uses the POE framework.
Enhancements:
- This release uses Sys::Syslog (which is actively maintained and is included in the main Perl distribution).
- All Syslog calls have been updated to prevent a highly unlikely (but still possible) format string vulnerability.
- It cleanly exits from a SIGTERM with useful logging information.
