Jaffa 2.1.0
Jaffa (Java Application Framework For All) is an enterprise-focused Java framework for rapid application development. more>>
Jaffa (Java Application Framework For All) is an enterprise-focused Java framework for rapid application development. It provides a complete Java Web application development stack, extending exsiting projects like Tomcat and Struts at the frontend with MVC-based web widgets, all the way through to a high-performance lightweight O/R persistence engine, with plenty of rich features in between including rules engines, declarative application, and data security. In addition to the runtime framework, there is a suite of component templates and other tools for rapid application development, including a TogetherSoft plug-in for UML intergration.
JAFFA is aimed at Software development projects that want to focus their energy on building Business Functionality, without spending time on developing the underlying architecture.
The JAFFA Project intends to provide a real world application framework, and then build a community of developers around that, who all want an open standards based framework that they can invest in, for building their specific applications on.
Enhancements:
- Native Tomcat 5.0 support, including jsp precompiling
- Full relational integrity supported in the v1.1 domain pattern
- New bean moulding framework for updating and retrieving graphs of domain objects, idea for complex web services
- Two new database schema importers, we can now import domain models from the database schema, ErWin CASE tool as well as Uniface

alma 0.41
alma is a software workshop for modeling and analysing. more>>
Alma is a software with the following functionalities :
- Reads several sources (languages, models, ...),
- Helps to design for object-oriented modeling (definition of classes, relations, patterns, ...)
- Modifies the structure and the code
- Outputs new sources, documentation, diagrams, ...
It is designed for object-oriented modelisation (definition of classes and relations) and for migrating (help to convert) code written in old languages to newer ones. It meets two needs : having a simplified software modeling workshop for small projects and make easier rewritings, ports and encapsulation of non-OO code.
This tool will be usefull for developers who get a code and wish to integrate it in a new project, to rewrite a program in a new language, and for the conceptor/architect who will have the possibilities to declare and manipulate classes.
Alma is able t oread these sources:
- C/C++ (simplified, no preprocessor)
- Class (compiled with jikes)
- Fortran 77 (partial implementation)
- IDL (quite complete implementation, no preprocessor)
- Java (quite complete implementation)
- JavaP (result of javap)
- JSP (Java Server Page)
- MDL (files from Irrational Rose)
- Pascal (partial implementation)
- TLD (Taglib for JSP)
- XMI (XML Metadata Interchange, see the site, partial)
- XSD (XML Schema, see the site, partial)
Alma is able to generate source-code for these languages:
- Autotest (Source code for automatic testing)
- BDL
- C (headers and bodies)
- C++ (headers and bodies)
- Delphi (Object Pascal)
- Eiffel
- Gui (Editing JPanels)
- HTML documentation (similar to the javadoc tool)
- IDL (OMG, see the site)
- Java
- Lisp
- Natural (french)
- ODL (ODMG, see the site)
- Python
- Rebol (see the site)
- Resume
- Ruby (see the site)
- Sql (releases 2 and 3)

Alambic 1.0.2.1
Alambic is an enterprise class PDF creation and distribution solution. more>>
Alambic is an enterprise class PDF creation and distribution solution. Alambic makes it very easy to create and distribute PDF documents inside and outside your company.
Our solution relies on the CUPS enterprise printing solution and on third party PostScript to PDF converters such as Ghostscript or Adobe Acrobat.
Alambic receives PostScript documents and sends their PDF counterpart. It can operate in two modes, HTTP or SMTP.
In SMTP mode, the resulting PDF document is sent directly to the requesting user.
In HTTP mode, the PDF file is stored on the Alambic server and a URL is sent to the requesting user for later retrieval.
Creating PDF documents becomes as easy as those three steps:
Select the document to convert to PDF.
Print the selected document to the special Alambic printer.
Receive the PDF file or a link to it by email.
The Alambic solution is freely available under the GNU General Public License. It is distributed as source or as binary for the Linux platform on Intel processors.
Though the Alambic solution is to be deployed on Unix servers, its usage is possible from any client, be it Windows, Mac or Unix, that can produce some PostScript output and send it to a network printer.

The Argus Open Project is focused on developing network activity audit strategies that can do real work for the network architect, administrator and network user.
LATEST NEWS
Mon Jun 19 10:44:52 EDT 2006 *argus-3.0.0 testing has started!
Welcome to the Argus Open Project, home of Argus, the network Audit Record Generation and Utilization System. The Argus Open Project main goal is developing network activity audit strategies that can do real work for the network architect, administrator and network user.
Argus is a fixed-model Real Time Flow Monitor designed to track and report on the status and performance of all network transactions seen in a data network traffic stream. Argus provides a common data format for reporting flow metrics such as connectivity, capacity, demand, loss, delay, and jitter on a per transaction basis. The record format that Argus uses is flexible and extensible, supporting generic flow identifiers and metrics, as well as application/protocol specific information.
Argus can be used to analyze and report on the contents of packet capture files or it can run as a continuous monitor, examining data from a live interface; generating an audit log of all the network activity seen in the packet stream. Argus can be deployed to monitor individual end-systems, or an entire enterprises network activity. As a continuous monitor, Argus provides both push and pull data handling models, to
allow flexible strategies for collecting network audit data. Argus data clients support a range of operations, such as sorting, aggregation, archival and reporting. There is XML support for Argus data, which makes handling Argus data a bit easier, see ArgusRecord.xsd.
The network transaction audit data that Argus generates has been used for a wide range of tasks including Security Management, Network Billing and Accounting, Network Operations Management and Performance Analysis.
Argus currently runs on Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, and MAC OS X and its client programs have also been ported to Cygwin. The software should be portable to many versions of Unix with little or no modification. Performance is such that auditing an entire enterprises Internet activity can be accomplished using
modest computing resources. The Argus Open Project is an ongoing and active project. If you areinterested in participating, check out the mailing lists and sign up today!
Enhancements:
- Multithreaded
- Daemon Support
- Configuration Files
- Syslog Support

Cyrus IMAP Server 2.1.18
The Cyrus IMAP server is generally intended to be run on sealed systems, where normal users are not permitted to log in. more>>
The Cyrus IMAP server is generally intended to be run on sealed systems, where normal users are not permitted to log in.
Electronic mail is a major infrastructure service of almost all organizations. At Carnegie Mellon the use of electronic mail has overshadowed the use of all other distributed services since the early 1990s. It is a core part of the business process of most departments. The universal availability of the Andrew Mail and Bulletin Board System (AMS) has helped a great deal to create this situation. Departments without AMS have run their own mail systems and see heavy use, as well. With the end of the lifetime of the AMS in sight, Project Cyrus began to build a new campus mail system.
The Cyrus Electronic Mail Project is continuing to build a highly scalable enterprise mail system designed for use in a small to large enterprise environments using standards based technologies. The Cyrus technologies will scale from independent use in small departments to a system centrally managed in a large enterprise.
Visitors to this site may want to also view The Cyrus Wiki, which is likely to be updated more frequently.
This document gives an overview of the Cyrus IMAP server. The Cyrus IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) server provides access to personal mail and system-wide bulletin boards through the IMAP protocol. The Cyrus IMAP server is a scalable enterprise mail system designed for use from small to large enterprise environments using standards-based technologies.
A full Cyrus IMAP implementation allows a seamless mail and bulletin board environment to be set up across multiple servers. It differs from other IMAP server implementations in that it is run on "sealed" servers, where users are not normally permitted to log in. The mailbox database is stored in parts of the filesystem that are private to the Cyrus IMAP system. All user access to mail is through software that is using the IMAP, POP3, or KPOP protocols.
The private mailbox database design gives the server large advantages in efficiency, scalability, and administratability. Multiple concurrent read/write connections to the same mailbox are permitted. The server supports access control lists on mailboxes and storage quotas on mailbox hierarchies.

Lineox Enterprise Linux 4.096
Lineox Enterprise Linux is based on source RPM packages from which Red Hat Enterprise Linux is compiled. more>>
Lineox Enterprise Linux distribution is based on source RPM packages from which Red Hat Enterprise Linux is compiled. Lineox Enterprise Linux contains all programs included in various Red Hat Enterprise Linux variations (Advanced Server (AS), Entry/Mid Server (ES), and Workstation (WS)).
It also contains programs included in separately sold Red Hat Cluster Suite and Red Hat Developer Suite. Lineox has removed and replaced all files of Red Hat Enterprise Linux which have restrictive copyright by Red Hat, Inc. Lineox has also tried to remove all user-visible references to Red Hat in Lineox Enterprise Linux.
The most notable difference between Lineox Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is the support options provided by Red Hat, Inc. Lineox, Inc. does not provide any support for Lineox Enterprise Linux with the base product.
Lineox, Inc. however plans to provide binary package updates for Lineox Enterprise Linux as long as Red Hat, Inc. provides updates for Red Hat Enterprise Linux in source package format.
Lineox has an automated system running on a cluster which builds new binary rpm packages as soon as new source code is available. New rpm packages are usually available in less than 12 hours after source code release.
After that Lineox builds Always Current Lineox Enterprise Linux disks automatically, but because of the time it takes to transfer the disk images to our web server, they are available from 2 to 12 hours after we release new packages.
Isnt Always Current Lineox Enterprise Linux untested or unreliable if it is released so often? Not really. We dont rebuild the installation environment, we just replace the installable packages with new ones.
You can even use same boot floppies or other boot media created for Lineox Enterprise Linux 4.0 to boot Always Current series Lineox Enterprise Linux. So Always Current Lineox Enterprise Linux is as tested and reliable as a system installed from "base release" and updated later. The only difference really is the work and time saved and the higher security right from the start.
Enhancements:
- Always Current Lineox Enterprise Linux 4.096 with Update 4 available. In the version 4.096 the installation environment is rebuilt, so it offers better hardware support during the installation. See the release notes for full information. The x86_64 release requires either AMD Opteron or Athlon64 CPU based computer. Some new Intel Xeon and Pentium IV processors with EM64T (Extended Memory 64 Technology) will also be able to run this version.
