QtOIDUA 0.08
QtOIDUA is a graphical user interface for OIDUA for Linux and Mac OS X written in C++ using Qt. more>>
QtOIDUA is a graphical user interface for OIDUA for Linux and Mac OS X written in C++ using Qt. It is completely free and open source, and is licensed under the GNU GPL.
QtOIDUA supports all the features of OIDUA and makes it easy to create fields, add directories, choose colors, and set options. QtOIDUA also allows you to save list configuration files, so you can easily recreate any previously created list.
OIDUA is an Audiolist clone by Sylvester Johansson and Mattias Paivarinta. Its purpose is to generate lists of audio files based on their location in your directory tree.
Enhancements:
- Added options that allow the user to specify whether they want a new file, the previously opened file, or a specific file to be loaded on startup.
- Fixed a bug that caused options to be enabled/disabled improperly when the output.db option was checked while OIDUA was downgraded to a version that didnt support it.
- Slightly resized the icons image so it better fits in both Linux and OS X.
- Icon now displayed in Linux if supported by the users window manager.
- No longer necessary to manually copy the icon into the application bundle and edit the Info.plist file when compiling in OS X.
- Added logo to the About window.
- Various code changes and cleanups.

Yalla 0.5
Yalla, is yet another font selector. more>>
Yalla, is yet another font selector. Written in C#, it allows you to quickly compose and compare fonts, colors, and text samples.
Yalla (hebrew for GO!), is yet another font selector. Its pretty well a C# copy (sincerest form of flattery) of "Gnome Font Sampler", but with some UI and major speed enhancements. I felt I had to write this after dealing with the head ache of over 6,000 fonts.
This app loads fast, and is simple to use.
It is intended for graphic artists, desktop publishers, or anyone who installs WAY too many fonts.

GPlot 1.2
GPlot provides a convenient front-end for gnuplot. more>>
GPlot provides a convenient front-end for gnuplot. GPlot GUI accepts a large set of options to generate a single plot of one or more sets of data (overlaid as necessary). This adds no new functionality to gnuplot, but rather makes it easier to generate gnuplot input.
Sometimes the simplest things can be remarkably difficult to get done. That was my reaction when I first tried to make a few simple plots. I knew about gnuplot, but it took way too long to make my first useful plot.
Perhaps the most frustrating task was trying to do something as simple (to me) as "plot this data with a blue line" or maybe the dauntingly (:-) complex "plot this data with a blue line using triangles for the data points". Eventually, I figured out one answer was this fragment:
set linestyle 10 lt 3 lw 1 pt 8 ps 0.55 plot my.data with linespoints linestyle 10
Alright, Im fed up! No more trying to figure out lt 3 versus lt 5 and pt 3 versus pt 22!
I just want a simple command I can understand that does what I want:
gplot.pl -color red -point triangle my.data
Sure gplot.pl cant handle five or ten million complexities that gnuplot can -- but I dont care. All I want is a way to plot some simple columnar data and get a graphic or
Postscript file of it and I dont want to spend very many seconds figuring it out. If this is what you want too, gplot.pl is for you too.
Examples:
# plot data in 1a.data. Show as X window
gplot.pl 1a.data
# plot 2 sets of data. Show as X window
gplot.pl 1a.data 2a.data
# plot data in 1a.data. Create a Postscript file /tmp/gplot.ps
gplot.pl -type ps 1a.data
# plot data in 1a.data. Create a Postscript file
gplot.pl -type ps -outfile 1a.ps 1a.data
# plot data in 1a.data. Annotate it a little
gplot.pl -title "This is my data" -ylabel "Vertical Axis"
-xlabel "Horizontal Axis" 1a.data
# plot 3 sets of data, specify colors and points
gplot.pl -color green -point uptriangle 1a.data
-color blue -point box 2a.data
-color green -point circle 3a.data
Enhancements:
- This release adds support for gnuplot 4.0.
- It adds support for JPEG output files.
- There is no need to upgrade unless you are on gnuplot 4.0.
- Stay on release 1.1 if you are using gnuplot 3.x.

FLTK 1.1.7
FLTK a C++ user interface toolkit for X11, Win32, and MacOS X. more>>
FLTK project includes all of the usual widgets to develop your applications, and new widgets can be created easily through C++ subclassing. All widgets support keyboard shortcuts and can be controlled both via the keyboard or mouse.
The Fl_Button class supports push, check (Fl_Check_Button), round (Fl_Round_Button), and "light" (Fl_Light_Button) button styles; all styles can operate in momentary (press and release), toggle (press on, press off), or radio (press one of many) modes, so it is possible to create almost any kind of button from a single widget.
The Fl_Input_, Fl_Text_Display, and Fl_Help_View widgets provide simple to complex text input and output facilities. The Fl_Text_Display widget is based on a C++ version of the NEdit softwares extensible text editor API.
The Fl_Valuator class provides a variety of numeric input controls including scrollbars (Fl_Scrollbar) and sliders (Fl_Slider).
The Fl_Menu_ class provides several menu-based controls including menubars (Fl_Menu_Bar) and combo boxes (Fl_Choice).
The Fl_Browser_ class is the basis for list controls. The Fl_Browser widget shown at right lists lines of plain text. Other widgets list files, widgets, and so forth.
User interfaces can be organized using scroll areas (Fl_Scroll), tabs (Fl_Tabs), tiles (Fl_Tile), and wizards (Fl_Wizard).
FLTK also provides standard dialogs for alerts, button choosers, color choosers, file choosers, help browsers, messages, passwords, and text input.
Finally, FLTK 1.1.x offers two appearance schemes: "standard" and "plastic". FLTK 2.0 will extend this to include platform schemes as well as user-defined schemes. Colors and fonts automatically adjust to the current user preferences.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes many bugs, adds some new example programs, and adds many new improvements to the FLUID software, including multi-level undo, syntax highlighting in all code fields, widget alignment and sizing guides, dialog templates, widget subclasses, and printing and testing of user interfaces within FLUID.

CTWM Themes System 0.2
CTWM Themes System is a set of CTWM configuration files and shell scripts. more>>
CTWM Themes System in short CTS is a set of CTWM configuration files and shell scripts that adds basic themes-like capabilities to your ctwm window manager.
CTS caracteristics:
- themes are split into look themes and feel themes. Look themes change colors and visual aspect of the window manager, and feel themes change the way you move or place windows, open the menus, etc.
- automatically generated menus allows you to switch look or feel themes. Your choice is saved for your future X sessions.
- you can change the background image used with the current look theme using a menu generated from the images stored in the Backgrounds directory.
- adding a new theme is as easy as unpacking it in the Themes-Look or Themes-Feel directory and restarting ctwm.
How does it work ?
The CTS package provides a .ctwm directory you must place in your home directory.
This directory provides a ctwmrc file that will include other configuration files from the include directory and from the themes directories. Using the m4 preprocessor, the configuration files will read the Themes-Look and Themes-Feel directories and the Backgrounds directory and generate menus allowing you to switch themes and background images.
When you choose a theme in the menus, CTWM calls the "settheme" script that simply change the $HOME/.ctwm/Themes-*/Current link to the new selected theme directory.
The wallpapers are switched using the "setbg" script that change the root windows wallpaper, and place a link to the image in the directory of the current look theme.
The script supports multiple screens, so if you have multiple screens, using the menu will change the wallpaper of the current screen.
Enhancements:
- This version provides many minor enhancements, file name changes, and better themes, but above all, themes are now split into two kinds: "look themes" that change the visual aspects of the window manager, and "feel themes" that change the key bindings, the way windows are raised, etc.
- That way, you can change the colors of the windows while keeping your preferred focus and window raise methods.

AHote 0.1.0
AHote is a C++ library for creating color schemes including complements, split complements, triadics. more>>
AHote is a C++ library for generating color schemes and also includes a few other classes for converting between RGB (Red, Green, Blue), YUV (Luminance and Chrominance), HSB (Hue, Saturation, Brightness) and HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness).
AHote is not a library for ICC color management.
A variety of functions are provided that, in general, take an input HSB color as a parameter and return a std::vector of HSB colors representing the generated color scheme. Depending on the function a number of other parameters can be passed that will vary the return size of the color scheme, etc.
The HSB colors in the returned std::vector can then be used as necessary. The HSB class can be cast to the RGB class, performing all necessary conversions along the way. Thus, it would be possible to do something like the following:
using namespace ahote;
// std::vector has been typedefed to Colors
Colors scheme = tetrads( HSB(120, 1.0, 1.0) );
RGB rgb;
for (Colors::iterator iter=scheme.begin(); iter != scheme.end(); iter++) {
rgb = *iter;
// rgb.red, rgb.green, rgb.blue contain the RGB components
// do something meaningful with them, like:
cairo_set_source_rgb(cairo, rgb.red, rgb.green, rgb.blue);
Enhancements:
- The library currently supports generation of the following color schemes: complements, split-complements, triads, tetrads, analogous colors, shades, tints, tones, and monochromatics.
- Other schemes that are in this release are related to the RGB color wheel including primary, secondary, and tertiary colors as well as the color wheel itself.
- Schemes of schemes can also be created, and classes are provided to easily convert between HSB, HSL, RGB, and YUV color spaces.

Brabosphere 1.0.0
Brabosphere is an OpenSource program for the 3D visualisation of molecular systems and their properties. more>>
Brabosphere is an OpenSource program for the 3D visualisation of molecular systems and their properties. Brabospheres name is derived from the quantum mechanical program package BRABO (developed at the Structural Chemistry Group of the University of Antwerp) for which it acts as a graphical frontend.
It can also be used for the analysis and visualisation of the data resulting from this type of calculations. In that respect, results from some other quantum mechanical applications will also be accepted.
For quick viewing of molecular structures, the program CrdView is being developed, acting as a replacement for Xmol and allowing command line conversion between a multitude of coordinate file formats.
Main features:
- Molecule builder:
- Atoms can be added and positioned using absolute or relative cartesian coordinates and internal coordinates.
- They can, of course, also be deleted
- Atoms or groups of atoms can be moved using mouse/keyboard or by giving the exact values.
- Groups of atoms can be rotated around their center of mass.
- Bonds, valence angles and torsion angles can be altered using the mouse/keyboard. Calculating torsion potentials has never been easier!
- The following properties can be visualised in the 3D windows:
- Element type and index
- Mulliken or stockholders charges
- Atomic forces
- An unlimited number of 3D density isosurfaces with different colors and transparency settings
- Calculations are saved in the Chemical Markup Language (CML) format, the XML-based chemistry format of the future.
- The following types of BRABO calculations can be set up:
- Single point energy
- Energy and forces
- Geometry optimization
- The calculation settings can be changed in extreme detail with an interface allowing the addition of new keywords and options. Generated input files can be reviewed before execution.
- An easy interface is provided for showing all output files created by a calculation.
- 2D electron density map files created by BRABOs Potdicht program can be visualized in high quality in a variety of ways. Regions can be analyzed for extrema in the density.
- 3D hydrogen-like orbitals can be calculated analytically for all elements and visualized using isodensity and scatter plots.
- MDI: Brabosphere can open an unlimited number of calculations and present them in the native Multiple Document Interface of each platform. One can switch between the Windows MDI mode, the UNIX Toplevel mode and the tabpage mode, even while the application is running.

SIOX4Java 1.60
SIOX4Java is a Java SDK that provides a generic segmentation engine. more>>
SIOX4Java comes from Simple Interactive Object Extraction and is a Java SDK that provides a generic segmentation engine for extracting the foreground from still images with little user interaction.
The underlying method (which has also been integrated into GIMP) is noise and motion blur robust and can easily be adapted for the segmentation of objects in videos.
The SDK also contains an experimental feature called the "Detail Refinement Brush", which enables the removal of spill colors and manual refinement of highly detailed textures.
Enhancements:
- This release adds methods for video segmentation.
- There are minor documentation cleanups.

LogBot 0.1.0
LogBot is an IRC bot that creates web-based logs in XHTML format. more>>
LogBot is an IRC bot that creates web-based logs in XHTML format. It uses the PircBot API to connect to an IRC server and create public logs for a channel. This is useful for disseminating online conferences and discussions of interest groups to those who do not use IRC.
Place the contents of LogBot.zip in a new directory, preserving the directory structure. Edit config.ini to tell the bot which server to connect to, where to write the output, etc. The output directory will need to be on a web server that supports PHP scripts.
Now run the bot using run.bat or run.sh.
The html directory contains PHP templates for the output. The bot will automatically copy these to the output directory when it starts up. You can change these if you wish to alter the appearance of your log files.
The bot will automatically reconnect if it is disconnected from the IRC server. If this is not possible, it will keep retrying periodically. URLs in the logs will be highlighted and turned into hyperlinks. The log files themselves will be colored similar to mIRC, but you can change these colors and styles in the stylesheet if you wish.
