Free collection software for linux

Kemistry is a collection of chemical applications for the K Desktop Environment (release 3.x).

Originally the applications were distributed in a single source package, but currently every application is distributed in a standalone package. The available applications are

* KMolCalc - molecular weight and elemental composition calculator
* KemBabel - a file conversion program based on Open Babel

iBookshelf is an application for cataloging your book collection and designing bookshelves based for it. Written in C#/Mono using the Gtk# graphical toolkit. This project is specifically an experiment in computer aided design

- Automatic data fetch using Amazon web services
- Manual book entry for non-catalogued books
- Bookshelf design based on most efficient book order.

GnomeBoyAdvance is a GNOME frontend for the Visual Boy Advance emulator.

All the options of VisualBoyAdvance are graphically configurable and stored using Gconf.

The controls are configurable with a pressing on the wished key or joystick button.

You can easily manage your roms collection and associate a screenshot to each game.

GNOME Art is a frontend for art.gnome.org.

The GNOME Art Collection written in ruby is a collection of tools for managing art from the art.gnome.org website.

GNOME Art is the graphical frontend for art.gnome.org. Backgrounds and all themes can be downloaded and previewed. Backgrounds, icon themes and splash screens can be installed directly.

GNOME Splash Screen Manager is for managing the splash screens of the GNOME desktop.

dvdindex is a free, open-source CD/DVD archiving utility to manage a collection of
CDs/DVDs.

It has built-in encryption support and is released under the GPL.

DatabaseScripts is a collection of scripts for general manipulation of the amarok collection database. Currently, DatabaseScripts has two scripts in the bundle.

Backup Collection:

database will be copied to a directory. This will work for SQLite or MySQL database backends.

Optimise Database:

This script will remove all entries in the database which do not exist in the filesystem.

jMovie is a movie collection manager that simplifies the maintenance of your collection.

jMovie project allows you to view information about each one of your movies, obtaining its data from internet movie data sources, downloading it to your machine so you will be able to do further queries offline.

Moreover, local data can be stored in different places, like memory, local hard disk, databases, etc.

The RA SPP Plugin collection package provides several plugins meant to be used with a qmail patched using qmail-spp.
They cover diverse areas, and are meant to be written according to the following principles:
- Good performance
They are written whenever possible in C, and try to be short and direct.
- Good logging
They should inform the user of what they do. No email should ever be rejected without logging something. Also, all plugins logs include the PID of the qmail-smtpd process, so you can easily group all events of a connection.
- Security
Since writing in C exposes oneself to the dangers of memory corruption, I have tried to use, whenever it makes sense, the Better String Library, to avoid problems. While this makes the plugins larger, it also makes me feel more comfortable.
Also, for most plugins, it should be possible to run them as a very unprivileged user or in a chroot jail. This is not yet implemented, but it is worth thinking about.
Enhancements:
- Fixes a stupid bug in the ipthrottle plugin (it was sending a debug message to the client).
