Daedalus provides a simple mechanism for running programs in response to the output of "check programs".

In practice Daedalus is generally used to provide an automated restart service for programs by checking the output of “ps axww” and running a start script when a particular program fails to appear.

However, it can be used for any occasion where you want to automate an action based on an event in the system.

Beyond simple restarting of systems, it can be used to send alerts, clean up files, or even start one program when another finishes or reaches a certain point.

Automated Linux From Scratch or ALFS, is a project that aims to create a generic framework of an extendable system builder and package installer using XML to describe the process.

Its goal is to automate the process of creating an LFS system. It seeks to make the process of building LFS easier and more efficient while still providing flexibility, granting the user total control and insight into the compilation and management of his LFS build.

The LFS and BLFS projects have selected the nALFS implementation as the "official" ALFS implementation. See below for more info.

Its been in production use for over a year now and is under active development. Take a look at the news page for status of the current stable version.

The LFS and BLFS projects official implementation is Neven Hass nALFS. Mark Ellis also has a perl implementation. Next to the official ALFS implementation, there are a number of more or less tested automated LFS build systems available in the section menu.

The KTA is a complete telnet and SSH application designed for use by both end-users and developers. For end-users it provides a cross-platform vt320-compatible terminal written in Java.

For developers it provides an extensible plugin API that can be used to implement automated telnet and SSH solutions in a client/server environment.

NACE is a generic query engine used to automatically create host and service definitions for hosts on the network.

It is intended to be used in a shell script at regular intervals by an experienced Nagios administrator to perform a query against the supplied host list. It then creates host and service definitions using the parameters supplied in the query.

WAassistant is a Web application for evaluating the accessibility of Web sites to handicapped users.
WAassistant is not just a test result reporting tool and also it tries to manage the whole testing process, including review of automated testing results, testing by humans, and making comprehensive reports on accessibility properties of Web sites.
