Kemistry is a collection of chemical applications for the K Desktop Environment (release 3.x).

Originally the applications were distributed in a single source package, but currently every application is distributed in a standalone package. The available applications are

* KMolCalc - molecular weight and elemental composition calculator
* KemBabel - a file conversion program based on Open Babel

rCalc is a scientific calculator for the GNOME desktop environment. It aims to occupy the middle ground between simple `point-and-click calculators and full featured mathematical packages, and hopefully take some of the best of both worlds.

The goal of the project has been to create a system that combines convenience and simplicity with power and versatility: to create a program which is which has an intuitive user interface and a powerful core.

Adding up should be as simple as on a handheld calculator, yet the more complex features should be there as required.

The Pawn Project aims to make computing easy for anyone with an easy-to-use desktop environment.

How often have you felt that your computer could be smarter ? Arent you tired of the old drag and drop style desktop and the horribly command promps.

Well Open Pawn Projekt (OPP) is about to change all that. The Pawn shall make it possibly for you to command your computer exactly what you would like it to do.

Order it in plain and simple english or whatever your natural language is.

Pawn is written in Perl, TCL TK and C++. Just to make it so portable as possible. Currently it will run on any Unix/Linux system.

The Sun Java Desktop System is a secure, comprehensive, and affordable enterprise desktop software solution that combines the best of open source innovation with significant contributions from Sun.

GEX is just another desktop environment. Definitely nothing special. But it has one feature that no other desktop environment could provide: GEX is mine and gets all the features that I need and nothing else.
Another reason for this little desktop environment is my endeavor to create an Mbus profile for desktop environments and applications. It should provide at least the following features:
- a dynamic configuration mechanism for applications
- a remote control mechanism
- a event mechanism for service daemons
Configuration:
The configuration of GEXs first generation is completly stored in one single INI like file. This file may be located at several different places in your home directory:
~/.gex
~/gexrc
~/etc/.gex
~/etc/gexrc
~/usr/etc/.gex
~/usr/etc/gexrc
Each of the core components of the GEX desktop environment has its own configuration group in this file. The available keys, their possible values and a description can be found in the follow sections.
Enhancements:
- More support for multiple screens was added.
- gex-desktop draws the configured background configuration on all available screens and gex-panel can provide several panels on any available screens.
- A few bugs were fixed; for example, the detection of screen resizes should work much better now.

SimpleKDE is a lightweight desktop environment for UNIX and UNIX based operating systems like Linux, FreeBSD, and OpenSolaris. Shortly it provides a graphical user interface on top of UNIX shells.
SimpleKDE is not written from scratch; in fact, it is a fork of well known, powerful desktop environment KDE. SimpleKDE, inherits the powerful features of its ancestor, but provides a more usable and faster environment.
The project is currently maintained by Turkix Foundation; all other KDE developers , fans are welcome to join the development. SimpleKDE is in no way a competitor to KDE, but an unofficial, complementary sub-project, that shares its codebase with the community, according to GNU/GPL

Komba2 is a windows network administration tool for the K Desktop Environment.

Our target is to make administration beautiful and intuitive without sacrificing power.

The Aurora Project is an attempt to create a new generation of Linux distributions. It will try to break free from old patterns and establish Linux as a serious world player.
Currently, Aurora Project consists of the Aurora Desktop Environment which, unlike most other Linux-based desktop environments, dont attempts to accomplish everything but to remove the focus from system configuration and desktop customizing by creating an easy-to-use out-of-the-box intuitive and beutiful desktop experience.
The UI is (for now) somewhat Microsoft Windows-inspired. I am satisfied with the general layout of the panel and start menu, currently I am busy designing the core functionality of the desktop with the panel as my number one priority. Also there is the session manager, the desktop manager and the shared library.
The Aurora Project currently consists of two major components - the panel and the shared library.
