DotGNU Portable.NET 0.7.2

DotGNU Portable.NET 0.7.2

DotGNU Portable.NET is a tools kit for .NET applications on non-Microsoft platforms. more>>
The goal of this project is to build a suite of free software tools to build and execute .NET applications, including a C# compiler, assembler, disassembler, and runtime engine.

While the initial target platform was GNU/Linux, it is also known to run under Windows, Solaris, NetBSD, FreeBSD, and MacOS X. The runtime engine has been tested on the x86, PowerPC, ARM, Sparc, PARISC, s390, Alpha, and IA-64 processors.

DotGNU Portable.NET is part of the DotGNU project, built in accordance with the requirements of the GNU Project.

DotGNU Portable.NET is focused on compatibility with the ECMA specifications for CLI. There are other projects under the DotGNU meta-project to build other necessary pieces of infrastructure, and to explore non-CLI approaches to virtual machine implementation.

Building

The three primary components of the system must be built in the following order: treecc, pnet, and then pnetlib.

You will need flex and bison to build DotGNU Portable.NET. We use flex 2.5.4 and bison 1.28. Some support is provided for the BSD version of yacc, but bison is recommended. Other versions of lex or yacc may not work.

Each source package can be unpacked, built, and installed in the usual manner:

GmailAgent 0.7.2

GmailAgent 0.7.2

GmailAgent is a application that acts as a local email client. more>>
GmailAgent is a application that acts as a email client and can be used by programs
like Digikam, gthumb and others to provide email access to a Gmail account.

Its written in Python and pyQT. GmailAgent is licensed under the GPL. Many programs like the ones mentioned before uses a plugins sheme to let the user start a external email client to compose a message with selected files from the program as attachments.

The problem with Gmail is that its webbased and only accessible through the internet.
GmailAgent provides a simple local email frontend where the user can fill in a address and
type some message. It uses libgmail to send the message to the Gmail account which will process it further.

GmailAgent supports the remote command syntax from Mozilla so any program which provide the user with a Mozilla choice can use GmailAgent. When this syntax isnt used GmailAgent tries to make a educated guess.

In addition to the above, GmailAgent is now also supported by the kipi project. So with programs that use these plugins, like Digikam, KimDaBa,Gwenview, and others you can just choose GmailAgent as your email agent.

Isdnserver 0.7.2

Isdnserver 0.7.2

Isdnserver is intended to be an ISDN-server-suite with built-in decoding, tracing, tracking, voice box, and telephony support. more>>
Isdnserver is intended to be an ISDN-server-suite with built-in decoding, tracing, tracking, voice box, and telephony support. It works with the isdn4linux drivers. Capi2.0 support will be added in the future.
Main features:
As of version number 0.7, isdnserver provides voice box fuctionality. This means that you can use your PC as an multi-answering machine.
You can monitor several MSNs (phone numbers) and let the server play and record messages. You can choose different greeting messages for different MSNs.
isdnserver can as well, decode the HEX values provided by your ISDN channels (B or D channels, depending on how your configuration is setup).
It can send data like the phone numbers, the charging units and the duration of a call to a predefined port, the console or a user defined device.
Installation:
The `configure shell script attempts to guess correct values for various system-dependent variables used during compilation.
It uses those values to create a `Makefile in each directory of the package. It may also create one or more `.h files containing system-dependent definitions.
Finally, it creates a shell script `config.status that you can run in the future to recreate the current configuration, a file `config.cache that saves the results of its tests to speed up
reconfiguring, and a file `config.log containing compiler output (useful mainly for debugging `configure).
If you need to do unusual things to compile the package, please try to figure out how `configure could check whether to do them, and mail diffs or instructions to the address given in the `README so they can be considered for the next release.
If at some point `config.cache contains results you dont want to keep, you may remove or edit it.
The file `configure.in is used to create `configure by a program called `autoconf. You only need `configure.in if you want to change it or regenerate `configure using a newer version of `autoconf.
The simplest way to compile this package is:
1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system.
If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.
Running `configure takes awhile. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make to compile the package.
3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.
4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean. To also remove the files that `configure created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean.
There is also a `make maintainer-clean target, but that is intended mainly for the packages developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution.

rndCiv 0.7.2

rndCiv 0.7.2

rndCiv (Random Civ) are randomized rulesets for Freeciv. more>>
rndCiv (Random Civ) are randomized rulesets for Freeciv.

If you play freeciv a lot, youll probably start to find that the games start to become the same, they blur into each other and after a while even though you love the game it starts to become boring and too easy.

Well i did, each game becomes a rush to The Republic, Gunpowder and Steam Engine. And one reason for that is that the techtree becomes totally sussed out. But techtrees are arbitrary anyway, and in another slightly different world they would be different. Sure you can download mod packs, but the problem reappears, after a while you learn their techtree, and youre back to square one.

rndCiv, is a solution to this problem. What rndCiv does is blend different genres together to produce unique (but still playable) techtrees. Its not random like Monarchy and Radio lead to Genetic Engineering, that would be silly. Its random like, Sailing could come from Boating, Map Making, Seafaring, Astronomy, or Craftsmanship. So pick two and get on with it.

Because the Techs, Units, Buildings and Governments are bundled into different generas, then you can get rndCiv to build a techtree (with related Units, Buildings & Governments) for whatever set of generas youd like to play with. Its a Meta-Modpack.

This code is beta, it works, it occasionally crashes the server (so save often), it also crashes the client (when you look up the help system for some units - weird), and its rules need to be fine-tuned.

Quick Start:

For a quick intro, try this command

./rndCiv.pl random4

then read the rulesets in the ./ouput dir

what i do, is symlink the output dir to freeciv/data/rnd and set rulesetdir to rnd

The ruleset.summary file gives a qick overview of the ruleset.

The techtree.dot file can be fed into the dot graph generator....

dot -Tps -o techtree.ps techtree.dot
gv techtree.ps

Then start civ..

./civ --tiles=rnd

and when in the civ server control mode, set the rule dir

/rulesetdir rnd

add other game options to suit, and start

XPilotNG 4.7.2

XPilotNG 4.7.2

XPilotNG is the mother of all 2D team based space games. more>>
XPilotNG is the mother of all 2D team based space games.
XPilot NG is a multiplayer spacewar game based on the mother of all computer games: XPilot - one of the highest rated games on the linux game tome.
Xpilot is a 2D game which can be played in many modes, each man for himself, team games with carry the flag mode, a racing mode, or all out warfare with complex items such as nukes, ecm, heat seeking and smart missiles, armor, tractor beams, afterburners, warping and many more. Items are collected as powerups. Mouse or keyboard can be used to control the ship. most popular currently is team based games which involved alot of quick thinking and strategy.
XPilot NG improves XPilot in several areas. The most important improvement is the support for a new polygon based map format. The new map format allows the use of arbitrary polygons to define walls and other map constructs. Old block style maps are also supported: the server converts them to polygons automatically to take advantage of the improved wall collision detection code. Legacy XPilot clients are also supported even on new polygon maps. The server can approximate wall polygons using blocks although the approximation is not always very accurate (for obvious reasons).
XPilot NG improves the XPilot code base by removing lots of old hacks and generally cleaning up things to make further improvements easier. This clean up has made it possible for the XPilot NG development team to create a new SDL/OpenGL based client that shares much of the code and functionality of the original X client. The SDL/OpenGL client is quite usable and is tested to work on Linux, Windows and MacOS X platforms. Also, last but not least, it looks quite pretty.
Enhancements:
- SDL client: Fixed some memory leaks, e.g. one for HUD messages.
- SDL client: Texture bug fixes, should fix the bug in 4.7.1 where the ship is painted as a white box on some machines.
- Server: Put back the old behaviour that dropped mines are immune to gravity. Explanation is that they are "anchored" to the map the same way as the walls are.
- Server: New option ballCollisionDetaches (default false): Does a ball get freed by a collision with a player?
- Replays: A fix so that big old recordings dont slow down to a crawl.
- Replays: Possibility to jump forward in a recording by pressing number keys: the number pressed tells how many minutes to forward.
- Several other improvements
