Beehive 0.6.0

Beehive Linux is a distribution made by system administrators, for system administrors. more>>
Beehive Linux is a distribution made by system administrators, for system administrors.
Its intent is to provide fast and clean setup of workhorse servers and workstations.
Not for the inexperienced, Beehive includes native Reiserfs support.
Enhancements:
- Mostly a lot of updates, check the 0.6.0/allfiles.lst for specifics. Seems noticeably faster than 0.5.0 for some reason.
- Gnome was removed because, well, nobody wanted to hassle with it. Its a major PITA to build, and It doesnt really add anything that KDE doesnt, so....

BIE 6.0.4

BIE 6.0.4

BIE is designed to help organizations exchange data created in different applications on various platforms with partners. more>>
The Business Integration Engine (BIE) is offered under a dual licensing approach and is the industrys first open source offering. BIE is designed to help organizations exchange data created in different applications on various platforms with partners, suppliers, and customers in order to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

BIE is a cost-effective, lightweight integration solution that provides many advantages over existing integration approaches and is evolving into a Service-Oriented Integration tool.

Created originally for manufacturers with diverse back-end systems and large, fragmented distribution networks, BIE provides integration capabilities in environments where other solutions would be cost-prohibitive or inefficient due to antiquated trading partner systems, lack of industry standards, and/or extensive requirements.

Because BIE is platform-independent, many legacy systems can be leveraged "as is." BIE is flexible, extendible and scalable, making it possible to integrate a wide variety of applications - even other integration utilities - quickly and cost-effectively.

It competes in the same space as applications like Microsoft BizTalk except that it is truly cross-platform since it written in Java.

Pingus 0.6.0

Pingus 0.6.0

Pingus is a free Lemmings clone for GNU/Linux and Windows covered under the GNU GPL. more>>
Pingus is a free Lemmings clone for GNU/Linux and Windows covered under the GNU GPL. Pingus uses ClanLib and libxml and might also be usable on some other OSs like FreeBSD, but hasnt been tested there.

Pingus is mainly developed under GNU/Linux, thats why the Windows port is sometimes a bit behind.

Pingus has started at the end of 1998 with the simple goal to create a Free (as in freedom, not as in free beer) Lemmingstm clone. The Free means you get the sources and are allowed and encouraged to change and distribute them.

You basically get everything that I used to create this game. In the years it has grown than quite a bit over the original goal and become something more than just a clone, we have original artwork, a built-in level editor, new actions, multiplayer and a few other features.

If you dont know Lemmingstm, here comes a short introduction. Its a puzzle game developed in 1991 by DMA Design. The player takes command in the game of a bunch of small animals and has to guide them around in levels. Since the animals walk on their own, the player can only influence them by giving them commands, like build a bridge, dig a hole or redirect all animals in the other direction.

The goal of each level is to reach the exit, for fix multiple combination of commands are necessary. The game is presented in a 2D site view. For more information you might want to visit Lemmingstm fanpage

While Pingus is based on the idea of Lemmingstm, it has included some other ideas, which werent presented in the original Lemmingstm, like the worldmap or secret levels, which might be familiar from games the Super Mario World and other Nintendo games. We have also a few new actions, like the jumper which werent presented in the original game.

wmget 0.6.0

wmget 0.6.0

wmget is a dock app for the Window Maker window manager which makes it more convenient to perform long downloads. more>>
wmget is a dock app for the Window Maker window manager which makes it more convenient to perform long downloads in the background. It uses the excellent libcurl library, part of the cURL automated-download program, to perform file retrieval.

This is useful if, like me, you tend to have dozens of windows open at a time and tend to do a lot of routine downloading. Just copy the link from your browser, middle-click on the wmget dockapp, and the download will start.

No download windows or terminals required, and you can monitor the progress and stop the transfer if desired without opening or raising any windows or even changing desktops.

Cyfer 0.6.0

Cyfer 0.6.0

Cyfer is a portable modular low-level cryptographic library. more>>
Cyfer is a portable low-level cryptographic library with support for several programming languages. Cyfer provides implementations of many message digest (hash), block and stream cipher, and public-key algorithms.
The library is extremely modular, providing easy way to add or modify algorithm implementations, or even separating the particular algorithm from the library physically (suitable for embedded environments).
The generic API provides a consistent way to use the library algorithms, and allows for algorithm selection at either the compile time or at runtime, so the application which uses Cyfer can be completely unaware of the algorithm specifics.
Cyfer is a low-level library. It deals only with various algorithms, and completely avoids the problems of data representation.
This is most evident in public-key sections; cyfer completely avoids the existing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) standards. If you need this functionality, use the excellent and free OpenSSL, or some similar library.
The library design concept emphasises on simplicity and elegance (of both the algorithm implementations (if possible:) and the support library code), not maximizing performance or minimizing memory footprint.
The algorithm implementations are straightforward, so they can be used for educational purposes.
Cyfer is portable to any platform with sane C development environment, the only requirement being the availability of the GMP (GNU Multiple Precision arithmetic) library.
As the GMP is used only for public-key cryptography, hash or symmetric cipher components should work everywhere.
Enhancements:
- moved wrappers to separate packages
- unbundled win32 support gmp library
- polished the documentation
- polished the build process and package creation

silverflux 0.6.0

silverflux 0.6.0

silverflux allows you to easily install and manage commercial games on your GNU/Linux system. more>>
silverflux allows you to easily install and manage commercial games on your GNU/Linux system. Only games with available GNU/Linux native binaries are supported at this time, but extensions for running games under wine/cedega/dosbox are planned.
silverflux automagically installs, downloads patches, and configures games without any required user intervention. silverflux project is a truely simplified game management system.
The intended audience for this software includes desktop as well as advanced end users.
silverflux was created to fill in the last linux gaming deficiency; the interface between the user and the system. silverflux provides the glue that prevents the user from fumbling with ill-concieved and clumsy game installers (both windows and linux native).
Instead an advanced user figures out how an optimal installation works then creates an automated script; thus simplifying the installation process for everyone. This is especially important for enabling games on wine where config files often need to be tweaked manually. everyone benefits.
Installation:
1. extract the archive
$ tar zxvf silverflux-0.6.0.tar.gz
2. add silverflux binaries to your path (this is a required step). you will want to add this path to the end of your ~/.bashrc file so you wont have to type this all the time.
$ PATH="$PATH:$PWD/silverflux-0.6.0/bin"
3. start the gui
$ silverflux-gui
Enhancements:
- A lot of work has been done on code clean-up.
- Various important features have been finalized.
- A simple Python-based GUI interface is now available.

LablGTK is a GTK+ bindings for Objective Caml. more>>
LablGTK is a GTK+ bindings for Objective Caml.

LablGTK is an OCaml library wrapping the GTK+ API. It uses the rich type system of Objective Caml to provide a strongly typed, yet very comfortable, object-oriented interface to GTK+.

It also has support for libgnomecanvas, libpanel, librsvg, GtkGLArea and the Druid widget in libgnomeui.

It is still under development, but already fully functional. All widgets (but one) are available, with almost all their methods. The GLArea widget is also supported in combination with LablGL. LibGlade and GdkPixbuf support is also included for both versions. LablGTK2 adds support for gnomecanvas, librsvg and libpanel Many examples are provided.

Objective Caml threads are supported, including for the toplevel, which allows for interactive use of the library.

homeLANsecurity 1.6.0

homeLANsecurity 1.6.0

homeLANsecurity was written for Netfilters IPtables, homeLANsecurity (HLS) is a Bash shell scripted firewall. more>>
It was born out of the desire for an easy to configure, well documented, robust IPtables firewall. It has been made with the individual user or small business in mind. With that said, Ive had plenty of e-mails from administrators that are using HLS in a large corporate environment. It was just not initially designed for such.

There is some limited error checking built into HLS. This will not prevent horrible choices when selecting which setting to enable or disable. Since the script can be used for gateway systems and internal LAN systems, many options are listed. Not every option is wise to enable for gateway system. In general, the default settings is the best way to go for the majority of gateway systems.

I dont feel the need to write a large volume of documentation as the HLS script and related files are well documented internally. Then again I am probably too close to the project to make that judgment.

For version 1.6.0 of HLS, I am going to add documentation to this page as the need for it arises. If you find something to be unclear in this documentation or inside one of the files, drop me a short e-mail stating what is unclear and why it is unclear (if possible). Ill make every effort to update the documentation to correct this.

Rx4RDF 0.6.0

Rx4RDF 0.6.0

Rx4RDF is a set of technologies designed to make W3Cs RDF more accessible and easier to use. more>>
Rx4RDF project is a set of technologies designed to make W3Cs RDF less complex and easier to use.
It includes RxPath, which enables one to use familar XML technologies like XPath, XSLT, and XUpdate to query, transform and update an RDF model, Raccoon, an application server that uses an RDF model for its data store and RxPath to translate arbitrary requests to RDF resources, and ZML and RxML, alternative text formats for XML and RDF that were designed to allow novices to write XML and RDF with (nearly) the same ease as a Wiki entry.
Enhancements:
- The RxPath data engine now uses a simple but optimizing query engine and is much faster.
- It also now supports RDF named graphs (RDF contexts).
- It is now easier to use RxPath in XML contexts, such as an XSLT page.
- Other improvements include better support for 3rd-party RDF libraries and RDF stores.
- Finally, Rhizome-Wiki has many new features based on these changes.
