Postaci Webmail 2.0.1

Postaci Webmail 2.0.1

Postaci Webmail is a multiplatform PHP webmail software. more>>
Postaci (Turkish word for Postman) is a multiplatform PHP webmail software which is database independent, IMAP/POP3, multilanguage(32 languages) and fully MIME compatible. While using POP3 mode to fetch messages it uses database fields to simulate IMAP folders, on which you can save, move, delete, read e-mail.
It is a easy to set up, really secure environment and been downloaded by more than hundred thousand users all around the world. It also is bundled with a simple adressbook, a notebook, a bookmark manager application.
Postaci includes multidomain(virtual) support. Domains are stored in a DB table and all users must be linked to a domain. It can be done at tblDomains and tblUsers tables at the database. If you have a single domain on your server you won t need to do this. There must be at least one domain at the database and its index should be 1. This is the default domain for any user. You can change your default domain at the tblDomain.sql file at the queries folder.
Enhancements:
- SMTP authentication for those who need to authenticate to send email.
- An Email Address field in Preferences allows you to manually set your From: email address.
- A problem in moving messages when using IMAP has been fixed.

p3pmail 2.9.05

p3pmail 2.9.05

p3pmail provides a tool that removes dangerous HTML tags from email. more>>
p3pmail provides a tool that removes dangerous HTML tags from email.

p3pmail will remove dangerous HTML tags from email messages to make them safer for viewing. It does this by skipping the header of the email message before parsing it for dangerous HTML tags. It will only parse HTML email.

You have to set up a port redirection with iptables so that all connections from e.g. inside your office to any POP3/POP3S/SMTP server outside in the world will not leave your router, but come to a local port, on which P3Scan listens.

P3Scan receives from the Linux kernel the original destination (the email server outside in the world) and will connect to them.

All data we receive from the client will be sent to the server, and vice versa. With a little enhancement: we parse the necessary parts of the protocol and when an email is sent from the server, we store it into a file, invoke our scanning, and send it along if it is good, or in the event of POP3/POP3S we replace it with a virus notification and optionally delete the infected message. For infected SMTP messages, we reject the message.

It should be possible to use all scanners using the scannertype=basic.
Also, P3Scan provides scannertype=avpd for high-speed scanning using Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux, every C programmer can easily adept other scan-daemons (trophie, sophie, antivir, ...).

Neither the client nor the server has to be configured, none of them will take notice that theres a mail scanner (except the client when he gets a virus notification or if he looks into the header, and the server gets our ip as source).

Email 2.5.1

Email 2.5.1

Email sends email to remote SMTP servers via the command line, which makes it useful in cron jobs. more>>
Email sends email to remote SMTP servers via the command line, which makes it useful in cron jobs. It will send to any RFC standard remote ESMTP server, and will allow you to encrypt, sign, and design your message on the fly.
It has the capability to use signature files with dynamic options, address book functionality, and users can also attach pictures, binary files, documents, or whatever they want. It is completely compatible with GNUPG for encryption and signing, and is easy to configure and use.
Enhancements:
- A bug where an assert caused an abort when encrypting any message with GnuPG under Cygwin has been fixed.
- Compile time problems where the compiler would complain about SIG* being undeclared have been fixed.
- There is some minor source code cleanup.

Pop3eye 0.7.1

Pop3eye 0.7.1

Pop3eye is a pop3 email notifier. more>>
Pop3eye is a pop3 email notifier, previewer and spam deleter. It can be run as a dockapp or as a regular or undecorated window that pops up when checking email.
Pop3eye can notify you of email from specific people, with certain subjects, or with information in any other header line by using regular expressions as filters.
It can display up to 20 partial lines of the email body in a tooltip window. Any number of accounts can be monitored and each can have its own color and font scheme.
Pop3eye 0.6 has undergone heavy reworking of regular expression pattern matching. You can setup expressions to match on any header line and then show or hide the email, or delete emails from the server without downloading them.
A log of deleted emails can be kept. You can set "test-delete" until satisfied with its operation.
A portion of the "From:" and "Subject:" lines are displayed as they are retrieved. Afterward, only those marked "show" will be seen.
Mouse actions affect only the account under the mouse. Right clicking on one account retrieves only for that account. Right clicking during retrieval will abort.
If your pop3 server supports UIDL, already downloaded headers and body text will not be downloaded again unless some emails have been deleted. You can force it to download with "shift-right-click".
Enhancements:
- A memory leak has been fixed.
- Retrieval to a local file and deleting email messages from the server can be done to all accounts simultaneously with Shift-Right-Click.

testmail 3.3.0

testmail 3.3.0

testmail is a Perl script that checks email availability at the POP3 server. more>>
The Perl script testmail checks e-mail available at the POP3 server (including SSL), filters it according to the defined rules, and depending on the selected method gets the messages to the local mailbox and/or removes it from the server.
Testmail uses Perl Mail-POP3Client, Net-Ping, and Socket modules and helps you escape from spam.
Enhancements:
- This release allows the user to use SSL and a specifically selected port (for example, for a Gmail mailbox).
- Testmail now uses Mail-POP3Client module instead of the libnet module.
- Configuration files were changed to add PORT, USESSL, AUTH_MODE, and DEBUG options.
- Some rejecting rules were improved.

Perl Pop3 1.0.1

Perl Pop3 1.0.1

Perl Pop3 is a POP3 server fully implemented in Perl. more>>
Perl Pop3 is a POP3 server fully implemented in Perl.
The advantages over other POP3 servers are that it is not a memory hog, and can be used to connect to databases for authentication.
Also, its code is easy to extend for any other uses, like POP-before-SMTP and extended logging.
Main features:
- Does not read the mailbox into memory, it reads what it needs as it processes the mailbox, so its memory requirements are low.
- Most email delivery is just printing out to the client; this is done in a fast and efficient way.
- It uses the systems users in the default unix way, but it can be changed to read users off a database (using DBI/DBD). It is prepared to use the database right away and can be extended or configured to use existing systems.
- It can be use to solve the smtp authentication via popauth or relay-domains (with sendmail) so users can be permitted to send smtp mail after pop3 authentication. This has been an effective solution for roaming users.
- Logging can be extended beyond the use of text files to any other method available in Perl, including database systems.
- Also, security is not an issue, as input is strictly controlled.
Using an easily modifiable daemon as part of a e-mail solution can be of great advantage over other existing systems in other languages. Further development will also try to incorporate more easily configurable extensions and plugins, so rapid deployment and extensibility is achieved.

For installation instructions and configuration please see the INSTALL file. For more detailed information, consult the DOC file.

kShowmail 3.2.1

kShowmail 3.2.1

kShowmail is a KDE tool for watching for email on POP3 servers. more>>
Kshowmail project is a KDE tool to watch mails on a POP3 server. Headers and complete mails can be viewed without loading them to the local mail client. Unpleasant mail can be deleted from the server.
The list of displayed mails can be refreshed via configurable timers. Filters can be assigned to mark known spam for deletion. Multiple accounts are supported.
A sound can be played if new mail arrives. A command menu allows user configurable commands like fetchmail or sendmail. A special command can be defined to send complain mail against spam.
The modifications I provided are mainly Qt/KDE stuff to generate a nice GUI interface. I am using the great development tool kDevelop V2.1.
Enhancements:
- Fixed bug where if you configure 2 accounts, retrieve mail, and then deactivate one of the accounts, its number of messages still reflects in the tray icon.
- Fixed sort of message number and size columns in message list to be numerical rather than alpha.
- Corrected version displayed in the About dialog.
