SchemaView Plus is a GUI for retrieve, drawing and printing database schema.
Schema can be retrieved using DBIx::SystemCatalog (currently supported basicly all current DBD drivers, some better support for PostgreSQL and quite well support for Oracle).
Program use XML for storing and retrieving data in text files. You can write any filters to modify these XML files for add new functionality based on your projects (e.g. droping off some relationships etc.). You can specify one filename on command line for autoloading it after GUI start up.
Schema can be printed to PostScript file.
Version restrictions:
- Problem with manipulating of dragpoint in smooth coords based connection method, retrieving only updates from database -- now forgot all new informations, I retrieve always all relationships (e.g. for 1 table in large schema - slow), many tables in create relationship dont allow selection, selecting object on canvas dont click_repository(), dnd object from object repository rollback in object repository listbox and filter dont work.

Quanta Plus 3.5.7
Quanta is a web editor for KDE supporting HTML and more. more>>
Quanta Plus is a highly stable and feature rich web development environment. Quantas vision has always been to start with the best architectural foundations, design for efficient and natural use and enable maximal user extensibility.
We recognize that we dont have the resources to do everything we would like to so our target is to make it easy for you to help make this the best community based desktop application anywhere. Pretty much everything in Quanta is designed so you can extend it.
Even the way it handles XML DTDs is based on XML files you can edit. You can even import DTDs, write scripts to manage editor contents, visually create dialogs for your scripts and assign script actions to nearly any file operation in a project. You can even look at and communicate with a wide range of what happens inside Quanta using DCOP.
Quanta is based on KDE so this means it is network transparent from any dialog or project. It can use not only FTP but other KDE KIO slaves from file dialogs or in project settings. For instance if you want secure access try the fish KIO slave that uses SSH.
Just enter fish://[user]@domain in any dialog or select fish in your project settings. Here on this site you will find information on using Kommander to visually build dialogs you can extend Quanta with. These applications talk to each other using an IPC (Inter Process Communication) called DCOP (DEsktop Communication Protocol).
Of course I realize this can sound like alphabet soup techno-babble to some web developers, but heres what it means. When you are using Quanta and realize you would like to do something and you want to ask "Can I do this?" you can expect the answer will not only be yes, but it will probably be even cooler than you hoped for.
Not included on this site are other tools you can use with Quanta for revision control and reviewing and merging changes in files. Those applications are Cervisia and Kompare, and if they are not installed and you install them Quanta will use them.
We would like to think that there are rich rewards to be found here for those willing to explore new ways of doing things, or perhaps in some cases old ways that are just new to you.

Basic aMule Tips
- NEVER run aMule as root.
- If you are behind a firewall or router, be sure that the ports have been opened. The default ports are 4662 (TCP). 4665 (UDP) and 4672 (UDP). If these are blocked, you will receive a "LowID" which results in fewer available sources for the files you are downloading.
- Obtain an appropriate server.met: e.g., if you are a dialup, using a large server list is not appropiate.
- Set your temp and shared directories in Preferences->Directories
- To recursively select a certain directory, right-click over it.
- You should *NOT* share
- Your temp download directory!
- Your /etc directory
- Probably not your /var, /lib, /boot, or /usr directory
- Certainly make sure that any really confidential files (password files, private SSH keys, credit card numbers :) are *not* shared. So generally do not share your entire home directory, although you might want to share some files or directories in it.
- Remember that you get certain download priveledges with those clients (aMule, eMule, etc users) to whom you upload files, in the form of reduced queue waits.
- Please note that compilation with optimizations is supported. However, if you pull a Gentoo, we will probably just tell you to recompile aMule and/or your system with sane compiler-flags before we will attempt to address the problem.

Option Types
Permissable values to the type field of an option specifier.
OPT_FLOAT
OPT_INT
OPT_STRING
OPT_FDLEVEL
OPT_BOOLEAN
Error Codes
ERR_OK
Not an error at all. Hence the name.
ERR_ABNORMAL
Not so much an error as a non-erroneous circumstance worthy of signalling, e.g., grep finding no matches.
ERR_UTILITY
Again, not really an error, rather a utility function being called --- e.g., the --help or --version. This gets an error code because it is almost certainly an error to call from batch scripts.
ERR_USAGE
The program was called wrong.
ERR_IO_READ
Some problem reading from disk or network (system read).
ERR_IO_WRITE
Some problem writing to disk or network (system write).
ERR_DB_READ
Some problem reading from db or similar (application read).
ERR_DB_WRITE
Some problem writing to db or similar (application write).
ERR_EXTERNAL
Some problem with an external application.
ERR_INTERNAL
An internal logic error (the sort of thing that should never happen, but has been caught by an internal assertion or sanity check).
ERR_INPUT
Some problem with the input file (which was read fine, but contains bad data).

wxSand 4
wxSand is a Falling Sand Game. more>>
wxSand is a Falling Sand Game is a particle toy - you can play with different elements, explore how they interact, and, in some reimplementations, make your own elements.
It is great fun to make interactive structures, ecosystems, and toys in a Falling Sand Game.
First of all, mad props go out to the original creator of this game. Great idea. I only wish I could read Japanese... Heres a link to the original, or at least as close to the original as I can find (Again, without knowing how to read Japanese.)
http://ishi.blog2.fc2.com/blog-entry-158.html
Having wasted hours of productivity on the Java verison of the Falling Sand Game, I began to think of improvements that could be made from the original. No source was available for the original, and Java isnt my choice programming language, that I decided to start de novo with C/C++ and the cross-platform wxWidgets.
(I leave it to you Java fans out there to make your own improved Falling Sand Game.)
I tend to feel that The Falling Sand Game should be more of a Zen experience than anything else. I also belive that the game should be as cyclic as possible, so that environments can run and evolve for long periods of time. Finally, I realized the close connection of The Sand Game with the game of Life: Whereby, with a few very simple rules, and some starting conditions, you can create a very unpredictable outcome.
Of course, the original is pretty sweet. So Ive make a version with my own rules, and one with the original rules, and then one with the original rules plus some neat extra items. I have implemented many, many more interactions and elements than the original version. Discover them as you play.
Version 2 has no fire (Versions 3 & 4 do, though.) I dont like how easy it is to destroy everything. It also doesnt have any free-moving characters. I feel they distract attention from the evolution of the field.
Originally, I didnt want to make this Open Source. I think it takes away from the mysticism of the game. Those of you that are so inclined should be able to see the simple algorithm. Note the close connection with the game of Life. Also note the impossible situations, like unequalized water levels. These arent shortcomings of the game, but instead interesting artifacts of the rules of this alternate reality!

ChromaTabs Plus 2.2
ChromaTabs Plus makes tabs more readily identifiable by tinting each tab a different color depending on the website loaded more>>
ChromaTabs Plus 2.2 offers you an excellent and very useful product which can make tabs more readily identifiable by tinting each tab a different color depending on the website loaded.
ChromaTabs Plus is the Firefox 3.0-3.5 compatible continuation of the original ChromaTabs 2.0 extension. By default, colors are matched to the sites favicon. Alternatively, tabs may be assigned a site-specific random color. ChromaTabs Plus is a continuation of 2.0 by Justin Dolske.
Major Features:
- Firefox 3.5 support
- New "most frequent color" mode. By default, this is not enabled. Please try it out and let me know if you would like to see this made the default. As you'll see in the screen shots, this mode provides richer, less "muddy" colors compared to the old "average icon color" method.
- "Average icon color" is the new default setting, instead of the random "hash based" default in the previous versions.
- Transparent Close Tab buttons.
- Improved compatibility with the Tree Style Tab extension. The vertical divider is now colorized.
- Fixed a couple bugs where tabs would not be colored in certain situations.
Enhancements:
- Option to use the most frequent color in the favicon. If the results are inconclusive (rarely), then it falls back to the old method of taking the average color.
- Defaults to favicon-based tab colors.
- Transparent close-tab buttons
- Colorized border between page and tabs when using the Tree Style Tab extension
- FIXED: When starting firefox w/ a restored session, only the active tab gets colored. Other tabs become colored on mouseover.
- FIXED: New tabs are not colored immediately after using "Open link in new tab"
Requirements: Mozilla Firefox

Hayes is the playlist for Noatun 2 / KDE 3 that attempts to be efficent for those users with large directories full of music. For these users, Hayes should be more efficient in speed and memory than the usual playlist. Plus, the playlist is updated in realtime as the directories change on-disk, so playlist maintenance is no longer an issue.
For everyone else, Hayes has some nice features, too: Full integration with the KDE global "MetaInfo" system for generic handling of tag information, Fully KDE standard user interface, proper shuffle behavior with a history, multiple sort modes (including a drag-reorderable custom sort), and nifty checkboxes that let one turn on and off particular files or directories.
The Konqueror integration adds convenience to playback and file management.
All playlist data is stored in .directory files, which are easily readable and reusable by other applications and tools.

Globus Toolkit 4.0.4
Globus Toolkit is an open source software toolkit used for building grids. more>>
Globus Toolkit is an open source software toolkit used for building grids. It is being developed by the Globus Alliance and many others all over the world.
A growing number of projects and companies are using the Globus Toolkit to unlock the potential of grids for their cause.
The open source Globus Toolkit is a fundamental enabling technology for the "Grid," letting people share computing power, databases, and other tools securely online across corporate, institutional, and geographic boundaries without sacrificing local autonomy. The toolkit includes software services and libraries for resource monitoring, discovery, and management, plus security and file management. In addition to being a central part of science and engineering projects that total nearly a half-billion dollars internationally, the Globus Toolkit is a substrate on which leading IT companies are building significant commercial Grid products.
The toolkit includes software for security, information infrastructure, resource management, data management, communication, fault detection, and portability. It is packaged as a set of components that can be used either independently or together to develop applications. Every organization has unique modes of operation, and collaboration between multiple organizations is hindered by incompatibility of resources such as data archives, computers, and networks. The Globus Toolkit was conceived to remove obstacles that prevent seamless collaboration. Its core services, interfaces and protocols allow users to access remote resources as if they were located within their own machine room while simultaneously preserving local control over who can use resources and when.
The Globus Toolkit has grown through an open-source strategy similar to the Linux operating systems, and distinct from proprietary attempts at resource-sharing software. This encourages broader, more rapid adoption and leads to greater technical innovation, as the open-source community provides continual enhancements to the product.
Enhancements:
- This release adds a new reliable file transfer client. It has been upgraded to SpiderMonkey version 1.60, GPT 3.9, and OpenSSH 4.5p1 with the high performance patch, and ported to Mac OS X / Intel x86.
- Test coverage, credentials handling in the security module, and handling of XML schema have been improved.
- An authorization portal framework has been introduced.

WMTosh is an ACPI monitoring applet, targeted at toshiba laptops. It can show cpuspeed, temperature, battery level, fan function.
WMTosh also allows a limited control of those functions, plus lcd brightnes. As for now limited to linux.
I wrote this small dockapp in 2003, when i got my hands on the Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100, on which i was and am using ACPI. Back then there was almost no ACPI-aware DockApp. This one is based on WMiFS project, big thanks go to its authors. The first version supported ACPI performance and battery objects, as well as toshiba fan and toshiba brightness setting.
<<lessWMTosh also allows a limited control of those functions, plus lcd brightnes. As for now limited to linux.

jOggPlayer 1.1.4
jOggPlayer is an open source platform independant Graphical Ogg Vorbis Player. more>>
jOggPlayer is an open source platform independant Graphical Ogg Vorbis Player. Developed using Java, so if your system has a Java2 VM you can use this app. You can now listen to your Oggs using an app that is NOT bloated. In fact this app/let should be able to run on a web page after you set your java security permissions.
I programmed this because I wanted a Java Graphical Vorbis Ogg player. I did it for myself and thought I would share it with you. My first priority was to get something that worked and looked reasonable. There are still some outstanding issues that I want to fix or work on. Dont expect a WinAMP style playlist, Playlists are harder to be made than the actual player.
Main features:
- plays files from your hard drive or
- plays songs from a URL
- plays streams from jRoar ogg streams (version 1.1 only)
- individual file play or multiple file looping play
- sequential or random play
- in applet volume control that goes to 11!
- visual song progress indicator
- playlist songs have a favourite selection box (version 1.1 only)
- displays ogg file information comments in a mouse-over popup window (song name, artist etc.)
- unlimitted size playlist that can transparently include files and/or URLs
- user selectable directory recursion on file load... just choose a dir from the load file dialog
- can load a file, URL or a whole directory of files on startup
- can save and load your playlist to a file
- can read your m3u playlist for ogg files
- user selectable fonts, colours, and background textures
- needs Java 1.2 or higher
- works behind a proxy/firewall (see the starting documentation)
- PLUS it sounds great!
