splash-selector project is an usefull splashscreen selector for Gnome Desktop.

This application allow you to store a list of splash images and to apply one of them, with only 2 click of the mouse.

Splash-selector is fully functional but pretty new and ready to be bugfixed and improved.

YPlayer project is a simple GUI player that plays Y sound objects.

It uses the GTK+ toolKit and the YIFF sound server.

XML Copy Editor is an XML editor with DTD/XML Schema/RELAX NG validation, XSLT, XPath, pretty-printing, syntax highlighting, folding, tag completion/locking and lossless import/export of Microsoft Word documents.

Pang Zero project is a clone of Super Pang, a fast-paced action game that involves popping balloons with a harpoon.

The intention of our effort is to create a fun, open-source game that many (currently up to 6) people can play together. As you can see, this site is pretty much just the "basic info". Eventually well build a great-looking site with bells and whistles.

Planets is a simple interactive program for playing with simulations of planetary systems, released under the GPL. The project runs on Linux and Windows, and could doubtless be ported to your favorite flavor of Unix.
Planets was originally designed for kids, in particular, for my then 4-year old nephew who is fascinated by astronomy. The user interface is aimed at being simple enough that a fairly young kid can get some joy out of it. But the adults who have used it have found it to be pretty fun as well.
The code is not bug-free, and Planets is missing some significant features. But its pretty stable and is a fun toy to play with. If you do download it, please drop me an email and tell me about your experience with it.
Main features:
- Saving and loading of universes
- Infinite undo (erase last action) and goback (return to point in time just after last action). This allows for undoing mistakes and replaying interesting configurations.
- Traces of planet trajectories
- Two ways of dealing with planet collisions:
- merges, where the colliding planets are merged into one planet, and
- bounces, where the colliding planets are bounced off each other elastically. This itself comes in two varieties:
- force bouncing, where the force between planets is made repulsive at close quarters.
- true bouncing, where simple pool-table physics calculations are made to determine when planets collide, and compute the appropriate bounce from said collision.
- kidmode, a mode where the focus is (mostly) locked on the application, and interesting changes are initiated by merely banging on the keyboard. This mode is aimed at 1-5 year olds.
- Center-of-mass following: it is possible to follow the center of mass of a subset of the planets. Thus, if you have a sun-moon-planet system, you can have the view automatically track the moon-planet pair.
- Can display kinetic, potential and total energy of the system.
- Both the gravitational constant and the gravitational exponent can be changed.
- There is a simple control panel that makes it possible to see and change the simulation options.
- Zooming, panning, and centering on the center of mass.

Acme::Time::Baby - tell time little children can understand.

Using this module gives you the function babytime, which will return the time in the form The big hand is on the ten and the little hand is on the three. If no argument to babytime is given, the current time is used, otherwise a time of the form hh:mm can be passed. Both 12 and 24 hour clocks are supported.

When using the module, various options can be given. The following options can be passed:

language LANG

The language the time should be told in. The following languages are currently supported:

en English (this is the default)
br Brazilian Portuguese.
ceb Cebuano (Filipine dialect)
de German.
de_ch Swiss German.
du Dutch.
es Spanish.
fr French.
it Italian.
no Norwegian.
se Swedish.
swedish chef Swedish Chef (from the Muppets).
warez l44+.

If no language argument is given, English is used.
Note that some languages use accented letters. The returned sentences are correct for an ISO 8859-1 platform.

format STRING

This is the format used to represent the time. It will be passed to sprintf, and it should have two %s formatting codes. The other two arguments to sprintf are the position of the minute hand (the big hand) and the hour hand (the little hand). If you have perl 5.8 or above, you could use %2$s and %1$s to reverse the order.

number ARRAYREF

An array with the names of the numbers one to twelve, to be used in the formatted time.

noimport EXPR

By default, the sub babytime will be exported to the calling package. If for some reason the calling package does not want to import the sub, there are two ways to prevent this. Either use use Acme::Time::Baby (), which will prevent Acme::Time::Baby::import to be called, or pass noimport followed by a true value as arguments to the use statement.

Java RSS Ticker is a Java RSS and Atom Ticker/Aggregator/Reader. I had checked out a number of tickers that look pretty as they scroll etc., but took a lot of CPU cycles and cost money. I wanted a simple, OS independent, ticker so I wrote this one in Java.
