Free playing card games software for linux

Online Cardgame System project is a client-server system for playing card games over the net.
OCS is a client-server cardgame system, similar to those found at Yahoo! Games and elsewhere. The server is portable and has been tested under Linux, Win32, and several unix systems. We currently have Win32 and Java clients available, and a Qt client for Linux is in development.
Games are implemented as plugin modules, so new games can be added without recompiling the server. In addition, the client is written to be unaware of the mechanics of gameplay, so it can theoretically play any games the server supports without having to know how to play them specifically.
We currently have Euchre and Spades implemented, with bot support for both games, meaning you dont need a full 4 people to play a game. We plan on implementing more games in the future.
On a side note, development of this project tends to wax and wane with our motivation and amount of schoolwork.
Enhancements:

- Modified packet classes to throw exceptions instead of returning true-false

- Fixed bug that allowed a person to overwrite an account when creating that same account
- Win32 - Made server link with DLL runtime library to reduce executable size and ease DLL dependencies
- Updated messages to be sent in HTML since the main clients support it

- After a client is booted from a game, they cannot join the game again until they receive an invitation
- Fixed libtidy bug which caused it to erroneously format HTML
- Euchre supports intelligent bots
- Spades supports moronic bots (the AI is horrible but allows for gameplay)
- Fixed Spades textual problem when a round was over.
- Fixed Spades score calculation that resulted in no loss of points
- Win32 client now supports HTML (IE4+ required)
- Win32 client can now join games by right-clicking on an empty game slot in the game view.
- Fixed major bug in Win32 client that would cause it to crash when sending private messages
- Win32 client can now use /msg to send private messages

Java Games project is a collection of simple games that are compiled into Java applets and meant to be played online in a Web browser.

Currently the collection contains four games: XO World (similar to tic-tac-toe, but with lines of 5 on a 10x10 board); 100 Mack (guess the random combination of 4 images out of a set of six); Memory (flip 2 plates at a time to find matching pairs); and Tetris.

The Linux Memory Game project is a childrens (and adults) game based on the card game.
The Linux Memory Game is an X11 game using GTK+ library for children ages 3 and up. It is a lot more than the card game "Memory".
It has five skill levels, the higher ones are challenging to adults as well. Additionally, one can choose from the menu to match 2 cards or 3 cards, or match different cards.
This last "different card" mode can be a very good teaching tool for teaching languages, concepts, or association.
Main features:
- Extensible - add new images yourself without having to make changes to the program.
- Five skill levels appropriate for the youngest and the ones with the best brains.
- Can play two card matching or three card matching (more challenging!)
- Can set to match different cards. This can be used with apropriately designed pictures to teach children (or adults) words, concepts, or another language.
Enhancements:
- Fixed overflow bug in pixmaps_jump.

KPicFramer is a small (but slightly maddening) card game for the K Desktop Enviroment.
KPicFramer 0.5 and above require KDE 3.2 including the kdegames module.
Enhancements:
- port to KDE 3.2 (KDE 3.1 might work as well)

- configureable shortcuts, toolbar
- config dialog with more config options
- complete rewrite

AmaroK now playing is a script that displays the song you are currently playing with amaroK.

Add it to, /usr/share/apps/konversation/scripts

Then add it to command aliases

Konversation > settings > command aliases

For example: alias: np ;replacement: /exec np

PyBridge is a free online bridge game.
PyBridge is software which lets you play the card game of (contract) bridge, with human players, over the Internet or a local network.
Main features:
- Complete bridge game logic: support for bidding, trick playing and duplicate scoring.
- A PyGTK graphical front-end - see the screenshots!
- A standalone server, capable of managing an arbitary number of tables and games.

Card 304 project is a software version of the 304 card game.

304 is a very popular card game in Northern parts of Sri Lanka. I am building a software version of it, so people can play it online!

PicoChess project is a small chess program.

PicoChess will support one and two player games, as well as playing against itself. It can also load and save games, and export transcripts of games.
