Free planet fitness software for linux

Planets is a simple interactive program for playing with simulations of planetary systems, released under the GPL. The project runs on Linux and Windows, and could doubtless be ported to your favorite flavor of Unix.
Planets was originally designed for kids, in particular, for my then 4-year old nephew who is fascinated by astronomy. The user interface is aimed at being simple enough that a fairly young kid can get some joy out of it. But the adults who have used it have found it to be pretty fun as well.
The code is not bug-free, and Planets is missing some significant features. But its pretty stable and is a fun toy to play with. If you do download it, please drop me an email and tell me about your experience with it.
Main features:
- Saving and loading of universes
- Infinite undo (erase last action) and goback (return to point in time just after last action). This allows for undoing mistakes and replaying interesting configurations.
- Traces of planet trajectories
- Two ways of dealing with planet collisions:
- merges, where the colliding planets are merged into one planet, and
- bounces, where the colliding planets are bounced off each other elastically. This itself comes in two varieties:
- force bouncing, where the force between planets is made repulsive at close quarters.
- true bouncing, where simple pool-table physics calculations are made to determine when planets collide, and compute the appropriate bounce from said collision.
- kidmode, a mode where the focus is (mostly) locked on the application, and interesting changes are initiated by merely banging on the keyboard. This mode is aimed at 1-5 year olds.
- Center-of-mass following: it is possible to follow the center of mass of a subset of the planets. Thus, if you have a sun-moon-planet system, you can have the view automatically track the moon-planet pair.
- Can display kinetic, potential and total energy of the system.
- Both the gravitational constant and the gravitational exponent can be changed.
- There is a simple control panel that makes it possible to see and change the simulation options.
- Zooming, panning, and centering on the center of mass.

The purpose of Planets 3D is to show a simulation of our solar system. The focus lies on a nice graphic (3D OpenGL) and the possibility to modify the objects of the solar system to see what happens.
This program is written on Linux using C++. In theory it should be portable to windows, because Ive used only plattform independent libraries. Anyone who tries to port it please contact me even if unsuccessful, perhaps I can help overcome arising errors.
By now there is included a small program which converts different coordinate systems into each other. It is called Astroconvert.

Blue Planet is a KDE theme defined by simplicity, usability, dark-blue colors and future look.

n-genes is a powerful Genetic Algorithms and Programming toolkit written for Java 5.
Using advanced object oriented techniques, like generics and introspection, it is one the simplest system to learn and use. N-geness design allows fast coding and a total flexibility.
n-genes is an open-source project released under GPL. It is free of charges.
Main features:
Stack-based Genetic Programming
The Genetic Programming implemented in n-genes relies on a linear postfix programs, close to Forth or Postscript programming languages. They allow the following advantages:
- High-level and turing-complete language (through flow-control instructions);
- Extendable and customisable instruction set;
- Possibility of using faster and simpler GA operators;
- Efficient bloat removing/controlling algorithms.
Modularity and Dynamic Config Files
All parts of evolutionary computing have been made components, through " Design Patterns" methodology. The benefits are:
- Separation of the behaviour from the representation, i.e. we can use the same operators for a GA doubles individual or for a GP problem;
- Short and readable code, since each object represents only a single operation and therfore has few and shorts methods.
- The possibility to change the components or their behaviour during evolution, for example changing dynamically the size of a population or using self-adaptating mutation operators.
The n-genes platform is coupled with a dynamic config file system. This system is able to instanciate whatever class, passing arbitrary parameters of whaterver types, whithout needing to extend the parser. Object introspection is used at initialisation.
Performances Optimisations
n-genes was written with high performance computing in mind. Here are the optimisations you get for free, using our platform:
- Object-recycling memory management, eliminating the time spent on objects allocation and garbage-collections;
- Efficient individual-level fitness cache, the fitness is lazy-computed and cached until the individual is mutated;
- Population-level individual cache, saving computation time when the population diversity dimish.

Fast Genetic Algorithm is a simple yet powerful implementation of a general genetic algorithm, and provides many types of crossover and selection procedures.
It is suitable to solve mathematical problems such as combinatorical optimization ones, as well as to build artificial life simulations.
Written in C++, the library is released under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License, and its easy to incorporate in other applications.
Further improvements include parallelization of the algorithm in multi-processor environments and general performance optimizations.
You can download the current development snapshot, which is a working but not fully tested version of the library.
Enhancements:
- Dynamic arrays were fixed to compile even on non-C99 compilers (like MSVC).
- A switch to choose whether to preserve the fittest individual across generations was added.
- The pthreads-win32 library was included in the package, as well as Visual C++ and Dev-C++ projects to easily build the source code on Windows.
- A function that computes the standard deviation of fitness values was added (thanks to Jonas Neubert for the contribution).

Pub Team Football Manager is a football manager software.

From the main screen, there are six options available (yellow buttons) for showing or editing diffrent information during the game. Here is an explanation:

Info: This shows the details of your team such as kit colours and current news items. Kit colours can be changed by clicking them. The latest news from the pub team grapevine is shown, with any items directly relevant to your team are *** starred.
Squad: The place where you pick your team. Players numbered 1 to 11 will play, 12 and above are substitutes or rested. Each players current position, together with his fitness and morale, are indicated next to his name. Further vital statistics of a player are obtained by clicking on his name. To move a player in or out of your first eleven, click on the "Sub" or "Play" button. You may look at other teams squads by clicking on the < and > buttons.
Tactics: Choose the tactics and playing style of your team. A number of formations are available, and you can choose your teams passing style and aggressiveness.
Fixtures: Lists all your fixtures for the current season, including cup fixtures when drawn. You may look at other teams fixtures by clicking on the < and > buttons.
Table: The current league standings. There are two divisions, each containing 16 teams. Your team is indicated by *.
Records: Shows the best wins and record goalscorers for the current season.
Play: Click here to actually play your matches. The weeks fixtures from your division are indicated, with your match highlighted in red. Press "Start Match" to begin the match simulation, but you can later pause if things start to happen too quickly. A match report and stats are available, and are updated as the match plays. If one of your players gets injured, the game will automatically be paused.

To start a new game, select which team you wish to take charge of, and press "Start New Game". The main screen is then displayed, which is controlled by the large yellow buttons, described in the opposite panel...

Your squad consists of many players who frequent your local drinking establishment. Each player has many attributes, which are rated from A+ to F. These affect the gameplay in various ways. For example, a player who is good at tackling may make a good defender, whereas a player whose shooting attribute is high should be put up front.

All the players attributes are available in the "Squad" section by clicking on a players name. Also available is each players preferred position, indicated in brackets e.g. (Def/Mid), although this is only a guide.

The most important attribute is the players fitness. Try to pick players who are reasonably fit wherever possible. Players fitness may improve when rested, but if they are rested too long, their morale may suffer.

The chosen style of play and formation also have an influence, and some options work better with certain kinds of players. It is your job as manager to weigh up all the factors when picking your strategy and players.

As the season progresses, you will sometimes play cup matches. The Cup is a knockout tournament which includes teams from both divisions. If you are knocked out, you will not play in further rounds, but you can still watch the matches.

Occasionally, players will leave your club, and sometimes new players may join. Since it is a pub team, you dont have much control of what your players do. However, players with a low morale are more likely to leave.

At the end of the season, the top three teams from the lower division (B) are promoted to the higher division (A). The game is open-ended and you may continue for as many seasons as you like.
