When loading an XML file the first XML tag becomes the root node. An XML file should contain only one parent tag.
Please note that AnyXML offers a read-only layer and no write facility. All child nodes (with the same name) are grouped into arrays.

AnyXML API defines:

* getAllChildren()
returns all the child nodes of the AnyXML object

* getValue()
returns the text value of the AnyXML object; this is the text contained in the tag
or that gathered from its child nodes

* getName()
returns the tag name of the current AnyXML object

* getElementByPath($path)
returns an AnyXML object from the specified $path
if the path was not valid, null is returned
if there is more than one element in that path, an array is returned

* getValueByPath()
same as ::getElementByPath($path)->getValue()

* attributes($attr = null)
returns attribute $attr or the full list of attributes if $attr is not specified

* map($callback, $args = array())
maps a callback function to all children

php-stl project is a templating implementation similar to javas JSTL.

This is a tag-based template engine with configurable classes to handle various tags. The templates are written in XML, which differs from the JSTL, but provides clean output.

Note that php-stl does not provide its own template handling, but instead piggybacks on either PHPSavant or Smarty as a compiler. Note also that php-stl is designed for PHP 5, though a PHP 4 implementation wouldnt be difficult.

Support for smarty was a bolt-on after the fact, so the code isnt quite as clean as it should be, but thats why its a beta. Were happy to hear feedback to move this to a 1.0 stable release at php-stl ~at! redtreesystems.

XML::DocStats is a Perl module to produce a simple analysis of an XML document.

XML::DocStats parses an xml document using a SAX handler built using Ken MacLeods XML::Parser::PerlSAX. It produces a listing indented to show the element heirarchy, and collects counts of various xml components along the way. A summary of the counts is produced following the conclusion of the parse. This is useful to visualize the structure and content of an XML document.
The output listing is either in plain text or html.
Each xml thingy is color-coded in the html output for easy reading:
- purple denotes elements.
- blue denotes text (character data). The text itself is black.
- olive denotes attributes and attribute valuesin elements, XML-DCL, DOCTYPE, and PIs.
- fuchsia denotes entity references. The name of the entity is in black. fuchsia is also used to denote the root element, and to mark the start and finish of the parse, as well as to label the statistices at the end.
- teal denotes the XML declaration.
- navy denotes the DOCTYPE declaration.
- maroon denotes PIs (processing instructions).
- green denotes comments. The text of the comment is black.
- red denotes error messages should the xml fail to be well-formed.
