Pathogen Warrior project is a puzzle game about matching 3D model structures with a 2D hexagon map.
Pathogen Warrior is a puzzle game about matching 3D model structures with a 2D hexagon map. It was one of the entrants to the 4th Ludum Dare 48-hour game development competition.
The theme of the competition was "Infection". In Pathogen Warrior, the players task is to match rotating 3D pathogen structures with a 2D model using a hexagon map.
The time to accomplish the task is limited, and after successfully completing one pathogen, the player is advanced to next level, which has a more challenging pathogen.
Enhancements:
- Updated music file.
- Added Linux Makefile (contributed by Ion).
- Added license notices to all source files.

Warrior XAMJ Browser 0.96

Warrior XAMJ Browser 0.96

Warrior XAMJ Browser is a browser that uses XAMJ. more>>
Warrior XAMJ Browser is a browser that uses XAMJ, an XML language designed to address many of the shortcomings of HTML and an open alternative to Microsofts XAML.
XAMJ documents are generally served over HTTP but can also be used in standalone applications, as Warrior itself is written in XAMJ.
Warrior platform can be used to deliver rich thin client applications with the capabilities of the Java language without the need to compile or package them. XAMJ UI code is compact and can be written quickly. Additionally, we now provide a way to link XAMJ content from HTML. (Our own examples use that.)
XAMJ apps can also be standalone. In Windows you can simply double-click a .xamj file. Compilation is on-demand and cached, so it has the major benefits of an interpreted language, without being one.
A XAMJ app can link another app much the same way HTML pages link one another. For example, an app could have a Forum menu-item with an href attribute that launches a separate specialized app, potentially hosted by a third party. (Some of our examples link each other this way.) We dont expect different brandings to be as much of a concern as it is with HTML pages.
To get a better idea of where XAMJ technology fits in relation to existing client platforms, see the following table which breaks down how it compares in several key areas to other two well-known technologies: (1) HTML/Javascript browsers, which are thin client platforms, and (2) Java Webstart, which is more of a thick client platform.
Enhancements:
- Text selection was implemented in the HTML renderer.
- A number of JavaScript bugs were fixed.
- Animated images were fixed as well.
- An image clientlet was implemented to allow Warrior to open image URLs.

Perilar 0.4

Perilar 0.4

Perilar is a fast, simple computer role-playing game (CRPG), with an epic quest! more>>
Perilar is a simple, fast computer role-playing game (CRPG), with an epic quest! You will cross a vast monster-infested wilderness to the dungeons to recover ancient weapons and artifacts, then to the dragons lairs, then face the final challenge...

Version 0.4 is a beta release for designing the gameplay, and future versions will have additional art, music, and sound effects.

Save Game Warning: Savefiles from previous versions will not be compatible with later versions until 1.0. At that point, Ill make sure they are always forward-compatible, but it hampers rapid development until then. Sorry for the trouble, but at least youll get to see the new world features in each version!

History

Over a thousand years ago, the world was a peaceful but primitive place. Humans lived in tribal societies, rarely warred, and there were few dangerous animals and no monsters. Your kingdom, Perilar, was one of the safest, as it was protected by four great dragons of Air, Earth, Fire, and Water.

Where the Vampire King came from, nobody knows. He appeared in the far north and turned peaceful farmers into berserker raiders. After conquering the island kingdom of Oradon, he turned their druids to necromancy, raising armies of the dead to war on the next kingdom. Kingdom after kingdom fell, and in each, the people were slain and raised as undead warriors to assault the next kingdom.

As the army of the undead approached Perilar, the dragons closed the kingdom off with a magical seal. For a thousand years, the kingdom has been trapped inside, and none know the fate of the outside world.

In recent times, the seals have begun to fail. The Dragons have not been seen in centuries. Undead and monsters march in towards the castle of King Phalan and the village of Perilar, home to the last free people in the world. A great hero must do something about this, and you are determined to be that hero!

Realms of Rivalry

Realms of Rivalry

Realms of Rivalry is an online tactical rpg. more>>
Realms of Rivalry is an online tactical rpg. Play short skirmishes in random-generated game worlds.
The game can be summarized as an online graphical turn-based strategy/rpg game where you can play short tactical skirmishes with 2-4 players in small random-generated game worlds. The game is free and can be played either as an applet or downloadable client.
The time-limited turns (30-90 secs) give the game a semi-realtime feel, and the game has sometimes been characterized as "chess on steroids".
Main features:
- Community friendly game lobby where you can chat with others and join realms.
- Up to 4 players simultaneously battling on the same realm.
- Players control teams of 3 characters: Warrior, Archer and Mage.
- Time-limited turn-based gameplay.
- Random-generated game worlds (realms).
- CPU controlled monsters.
- Several weapons, armor, traps and other items.
- Occlusion calculation used in combat situations.
- Interrupts.
- Different types of terrain.
- Buy & sell items at vendors.
- Monster respawning.
- Ingame chat.
- Detailed end-of-game summary panel.
Explore the map and kill creatures to obtain weapons, potions, runes, traps and more to aid you in your quest for domination!
The game development has been very "test-driven" in the sense that the game quickly was made playable and that features and changes were added and removed continuously during development. This hopefully improves gameplay, but of course at the expense of dramatically increased development time.
Realms of rivalry was never intended to "soothe the masses", but were made entirely to match the game that we ourselves would like to play - something we have done for many, many hours :-) But of course, some of you might enjoy this game aswell, and that is why we decided to share it with you!.

Flamethrower 0.1.8

Flamethrower 0.1.8

Flamethrower is intended to be an easy to use multicast file distribution system. more>>
Flamethrower is intended to be an easy to use multicast file distribution system. Flamethrower project was created to add multicast install capabilities to SystemImager, but was designed to be fully functional as a stand-alone package.
Main features:
- Works with entire directory heirarchies of files, not just single files.
- Uses a server configuration file that takes module entries that are similar to those used by rsyncd.conf.
- Flamethrower is an on-demand system. The multicast of a module is initiated when a client connects, but waits MIN_WAIT (conf file) for other clients to connect. If other clients try to connect after a cast has been initiated, they simply wait until that cast has finished, and catch the next one when it begins.
- The udpcast package is used as the multicast transport, and offers a gob and a half of tuning parameters.

Virtual LargeFile System for LUFS 0.3

Virtual LargeFile System for LUFS 0.3

Virtual LargeFile System for LUFS is an overlaying filesystem for storing very large files on FAT32 and similar. more>>
vlsf is a plugin for the LUFS package which allows to write large files (4GB and more) on primitive filesystems like FAT32.
The workaround is simple: the file is stored in small files (chunks) on the real filesystem using the same method and naming scheme as the split utility.
Installing
To install lvfs, you need the prepatched LUFS package or the original version from the LUFS homepage and the patch (see above).
To patch LUFS, do
cd lufs-0.9.7
patch -p0 < ...patchfile
./bootstrap
The rest as usual:
./configure
make
(as root) make install
cd kernel/Linux
make
(as root) insmod 2.6/lufs.ko
(or the equivalent for 2.4/lufs.o)
Version restrictions:
- chunk files must be named after foo.XY (where XY follows the split(1) scheme)
- chunk size is limited to 2GB
- Link/Symlink operations not possible with virtual files
- no cache update functions - you will see wrong data if you work on directly on underlying filesystem
Enhancements:
- In LUFS, version 0.9.7, the kernel module misses an internal cast so virtual files contain the wrong data over 4GB. The vlfs patch contains fixes, but make sure that you compile and install the fixed module.

PyPedal 2.0.0 Beta 22

PyPedal 2.0.0 Beta 22

PyPedal is a Python module that provides tools for the manipulation of pedigrees. more>>
PyPedal project is a Python module that provides tools for the manipulation of pedigrees, simple visualization of pedigrees, and the calculation of measures of genetic diversity from pedigrees.
Enhancements:
- Added PyPedalError and PyPedalPedigreeInputFileNameError classes. Now the exception raised in NewPedigree::__init__() actually works sort-of correctly.
Did some more work in pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::__init__() to make sure that string methods are not called on non-strings.
pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::string_to_int() now uses a new hashing algorithm taken from "Character String Keys" in "Data Structures and Algorithms with Object-Oriented Design Patterns in Python" by Bruno R. Preiss: http://www.brpreiss.com/books/opus7/html/page220.html#progstrnga.
This fixes the collision problem with the previous algorithm (but any algorithm that produces, say, 32-bit integers will collide under the right circumstances).
OK, the problem with pyp_utils/reorder() has been identified: Ori Pelegs hashing approach used in pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::string_to_int() is colliding. For example, the strings ANJHL5876DC and ONNLDF348RC hash to the same value.
Made a change to pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::__init__() so that animal, sire, and dam names are correctly assigned even if integral IDs are passed rather than strings.
pyp_newclasses/NewPedigree::preprocess() no longer casts animal, sire, and dam IDs to strings when adding pedigree entries for missing sires and dams. The cast was breaking the founder assignment code in pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::__init__().
Turned off a bunch of debugging messages left on in pyp_utils/reorder().
pyp_utils/assign_offspring() was rather thoroughly broken due to errors introduced when the new object model conversion was made.
Enhancements:
06/26/2007 More bugfixes to pyp_utils/reorder(). The
orderdict and orderbackdict dictionaries are now correctly
updated when an animal in the pedigree is moved. This fixed
cases where the pedigree was not correctly reordered. When
this happened, pyp_utils/renumber() caught KeyErrors while
looking up sires/dams and set parents to unknown, ignoring
known relationships in the pedigree. George Wigganss
persistent reports that the relationships being calculated
were just not right led to the root cause of the problem.
Thanks, George!
06/25/2007 Removed pyp_utils/reorder_list().
06/21/2007 pyp_utils/reorder() will now write error
messages to the logfile and STDIO if a pedigree could not be
renumbered in renumber_max_rounds of iteration.
06/21/2007 Added new parameter, max_rounds, to
pyp_utils/reorder(). pyp_newclasses/NewPedigree passes
renumber_max_rounds to reorder, but the routines in
pyp_nrm/* do not.
06/21/2007 Added new option, renumber_max_rounds, to
pyp_newclasses/NewPedigree::__init__(). The default value is
100 rounds.
06/21/2007 Completely rewrote pyp_utils/reorder(), which
has been the bane of my existences and source of most
PyPedal bugs for a Long Time Now.
06/21/2007 Fixed bug in pyp_nrm/inbreeding() so that it
correctly works with pre-calculated NRM.
06/20-/2007 Added a new function, pyp_io/write_ijk(), which
saves an NRM to a disk in ijk format, where i and j are
animal IDs and k is either (1. + the coefficient of
inbreeding) when (i == j) or coefficient of relationship
when (i != j).
06/20/2007 Rewrote an error message in
pyp_newclasses/NewPedigree::preprocess() so that it now
makes sense.

Ogrian Carpet 0.9

Ogrian Carpet 0.9

Ogrian Carpet is a 3D fantasy action/strategy game. more>>
Ogrian Carpet project is a 3D fantasy action/strategy game.
Ogrian Carpet is an outdoor first person shooter game with real time strategy elements, inspired by the game Magic Carpet.
It uses Ogre3D as the renderer and allows you to fly around an island casting spells, summoning monsters, collecting mana, and building castles.
The object of the game is to build a castle, collect mana, and destroy your enemies. To build a castle, select a location, look at the ground, and cast the build spell. Note, you cannot build castles very close to water or other castles.
Your castle starts out small, with only one turret. As more mana is added to your castle, it will gain more turrets. Each turret adds another crane to your castles defense and another spell to your arsenal.
Basically, the game consists of fighting for control of mana. Whenever you encounter another wizard, shoot them with fireballs. If you hit them enough, they will "die" and be sent back to their castle. You are then free to claim all the mana in the area for yourself.
Once all the mana has been claimed, attack your enemys castle to get mana out of it so you can claim it for yourself. Once you enemys castle is out of mana, you can eliminate it by killing its heart. When all of your opponents have been banished, youve won.
Enhancements:
- AI bot player for skirmish
- things can now be loaded from an image, rather then randomly
- option for old randomized maps
- trees can now always bee seen
- made castle mana drops aggregate more
- loosened the restrictions on summoning
- made the config menu better
- added victory conditions to skirmish: kill all enemy towers/castles
- made ticks and gnomes stay in the formation you put them in
- made monsters and towers drop less then their cost when they have no wizard
- made mana float higher
- made towers cheaper (50)
- made sentinels drop much less (3)
- changed speed behavior on lava maps
- added victory music
- new music

EZelect 0.1.0

EZelect is a PHP script useful for conducting Web-based elections for small organizations. more>>
EZelect is a PHP script useful for conducting Web-based elections for small organizations. EZelect is very simple and easy to use.
The script is originally written for and used in the 2005/2006 presidential election of Berkeley Chinese Students and Scholars Association (BCSSA).
Main features:
- No database needed. All information is stored in plain-text files
- Works on Unix servers like Linux, Solaris
- Authenticating voters by their email. Can be configured to allow votes from users with emails like @organization.org. One email address casts at most one vote.
- Supports two types of elections, one letting each voter votes for one of multiple candidates, another letting each voter approve or dis-approve a single candidate. It should be easy to add more types of elections.
- Outputs all votes in plain text file. Use of grep to process the results should be enough in most cases.
Usage:
- Customize the beginning part of ezelect.php to suit your needs.
- Make sure the data dir ($datadir) exists and is writable by the web server process.
- Make sure the local host has an MTA running on port 25.
- Access index.html from your webserver to test the election.
- Do some further customization and run the election!
- Collect results in $datadir. Each file, named with the users email address, records votes from the users. The only thing useful is the 1st line, which contains the *confirmed* vote from the user. A user can have at most one confirm vote. If the 1st line is _ _, then the user didnt confirm any vote and should not be counted. A simple command to collect all results:
find . -type f -exec head -1 {} ;
