Poor mans Financial Calculator 1.1

Poor mans Financial Calculator 1.1

Poor mans Financial Calculator is a small financial and basic mathematical operations calculator applet. more>>
Poor mans Financial Calculator project is a small financial and basic mathematical operations calculator applet.
The calculator registers work like the mythical HP-12C financial calculator, even the "n" rounding behaviour. The yellow fields also serve as operands for the arithmetic operations; for such ops, the blue field will show the result.
BEGIN button: If enabled, means that the first payment is made at the beginning of the period (important only for financial operations that involve PMT register)
FPC button: if enabled, Fractionary part of the Period ("n") will also be calculated using Compound interest; if disabled, fractionary part will use simple (linear) interest, which gives slightly higher interest values.
Enhancements:
- This release translates the code and messages to English and changes the license to the LGPL.

Yet Another Financial Manager 0.1

Yet Another Financial Manager 0.1

Yet Another Financial Manager (YAFM in short) is application to track Your expenses and incomes. more>>
Yet Another Financial Manager (YAFM in short) is application to track Your expenses and incomes. That way You know how much and for what You are spending, and if You are in line with retirement savings. All made in EASY and COMFORTABLE way.

The Difference

There are many programs to help manage Your finances.

So, why You should use YAFM?

First it is designed to be easy to use. It is not aimed to track every penny You spend, this would be annoying.

Second: it should be used as a tool to track spendings as exactly as You need. Don’t be stressed if some expences are not tracked or You have entered their approx value. YAFM is about helping You to know roughly how much and for what You are spending not making You feel bad, that expenses and incomes are not balanced up to penny. If You have enough patience to keep data 100% accurate - You will have very accurate results, good for You, but YAFM will not make troubles about coffee and doughnut this morning, You have forgot to enter.

YAFM BETA is free software, but version 1.0 will be commercial software. If You decide to donate me some money I promise You to get free 1.0 license. You can donate any amount, but if You would ask me how much I would say - 10 USD (1.0 pricing is not fixed but price will be somewhere between 10 and 20 USD).

This application is powered with Ruby on Rails and operated with browser locally. You need to have Ruby interpreter and sqlite installed. This means it can be run in Windows, Unix/Linux or Mac OS X environments.

For Windows (which I expect be to main platform for most users) there are sqlite .dlls provided with program.

Well… I’m using this program for myself from April 2006. I think for many people program like YAFM will be useful, so I decided give a try to release. Of course I’m releasing much more polished version than I use everyday, and also with much features missing. But I will successfully release next versions.

BADGER finance 1.0 Beta 3

BADGER finance 1.0 Beta 3

BADGER finance is an open source financial management application for end users. more>>
BADGER finance is an open source financial management application for end users. BADGER finance is written in php, ajax and sql. The goal is to regain control over your personal financial situation. BADGER is free software in the sense of the GNU GPL license.
The vision for BADGER finance was born at the Mannheim University of Cooperative Education (BA). In the course of a software development class we had the opportunity to develop software. We jumped at the project with the hopes to be able to complete a useful piece of software instead of the 10,000th tic-tac-toe application.
Since there was no financial management software on the market available to us that had what we needed, we started developing our own which we now released to the open source community.Preferences
Main features:
- Account management
- Currencies
- Transactions
- Transaction categories
- Forecasts
- CSV-Import
- Preferences
Enhancements:
- This is a major release with loads of new features and bugfixes.
- The statistics module was improved with category, trend, and timespan analysis, complete with reach-through capabilities.
- The transaction backend was newly recoded.

Ruby/Finance 0.2.2

Ruby/Finance 0.2.2

Ruby/Finance allows access to changing financial data, such as currency conversion rates and stock quotes. more>>
Ruby/Finance allows access to changing financial data, such as stock quotes and currency conversion rates.

For the foreseeable future, it is intended to be a port of Perls Finance::Quote module.

Examples:

Currency conversion

require finance/currency

Display the US Dollar ($) to Euro () conversion rate.

puts Finance::Currency::convert( EUR, USD )

Display the British Pounds Sterling () to Icelandic Kronur conversion
rate for the amount of 32.50.

puts Finance::Currency::convert( ISK, GBP, 32.50 )

Stock quotes

require finance/quote

q = Finance::Quote.new Answers will be given in the native
currency of the exchange on which
they are listed.

q = Finance::Quote.new( EUR ) Answers will be given in Euros.

q.currency = VND Switch to using Vietnamese Dong.

info = q.fetch( usa, CRM ) Fetch a single quote, namely CRM.

info = q.fetch( :usa, EBAY, AMZN ) Fetch EBAY and AMZN. Note that
a Symbol can be used instead of a
String for the exchange name.

info = q.fetch( usa, %w[ EBAY AMZN ] ) An Array of ticker symbols is
OK, too.
puts info[EBAY][:price]

A block can be passed, too:

q.fetch( :usa, RHAT ) { |info| puts info[RHAT][:high] }

You can also bypass #fetch and call the exchange as a method:

q.usa( RHAT ) { |info| puts info[RHAT][:high] }

Installation:

Minero Aokis setup.rb script is included. Extensive documentation for this script can be found at the end of this document.

Basically, however, the following should be enough to install the package:

$ ruby setup.rb config
$ ruby setup.rb setup
# ruby setup.rb install

("#" line may require root privilege)

PC-Info project is a Server-Client Software using the Adaptive Communication Environment (ACE). more>>
PC-Info project is a Server-Client Software using the Adaptive Communication Environment (ACE).

Server uses KDE/QT to show the client data. Cmd-line is also possible.

Until now the Client can submit IP/Port, Hostname and CPU-Model information.

Installation:

The simplest way to compile this package is:

1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.

Running `configure takes a while. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.

2. Type `make to compile the package.

3. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.

4. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean.

Finance::Quote::Yahoo::USA 1.12

Finance::Quote::Yahoo::USA 1.12

Finance::Quote::Yahoo::USA is a Perl module to obtain information about stocks and funds in the USA and Canada. more>>
Finance::Quote::Yahoo::USA is a Perl module to obtain information about stocks and funds in the USA and Canada.

SYNOPSIS

use Finance::Quote;

$q = Finance::Quote->new;

%info = $q->fetch("usa","SGI");

This method provides access to financial information from a number of exhcanges in the United States and Canada. The following methods are available:

canada
usa
yahoo
nyse
nasdaq
vanguard
fidelity

These methods all use the same information source, and hence can be considered somewhat interchangable. However, the method "yahoo" should be passed to fetch if you wish to obtain information from any source that Yahoo tracks.

This method is loaded by default by Finance::Quote, although it can be explicitly loaded by passing the argument "Yahoo::USA" to Finance::Quote->new().

Information returned by this module may be subject to Yahoos terms and conditions. See http://finance.yahoo.com/ for more information.

LABELS RETURNED

This module returns all the standard labels that Yahoo provides, as well as the currency label. See Finance::Quote::Yahoo::Base for more information.

BUGS

Yahoo does not make a distinction between the various exchanges in the United States and Canada. For example, it is possible to request a stock using the "NYSE" method and still obtain data even if that stock does not exist on the NYSE but exists on a different exchange.

Nonpareil 0.78

Nonpareil 0.78

Nonpareil is a calculator microassembler and simulator. more>>
Nonpareil is a microassembler and simulator package for the calculators. It currently supports the HP Classic and Woodstock series. Nonpareil is written in C and uses the GTK+ toolkit.
The Classic series of HP handheld calculators included the following models:
- HP-35 Scientific (Electronic Slide Rule)
- HP-80 Financial
- HP-45 Advanced Scientific
- HP-65 Card Programmable Scientific
- HP-70 Business
- HP-55 Programmable Scientific
The HP-67 is considered by many people to be part of the Classic series since it is packaged similarly to the HP-65, but electrically it is really a Woodstock series machine.
The classic series chip set was also used in the HP-46 and HP-81, which were desktop printing versions of the HP-45 and HP-80, respectively, and the HP 9805A desktop calculator. The same chip set was also used in the HP 1722A Oscilliscope, the HP 3380A Integrator (for Gas Chromatography), and in several HP Gas Chromatographs.
The Woodstock series of HP handheld calculators included the following models:
- HP-21 Scientific
- HP-22 Financial
- HP-25 Programmable Scientific
- HP-25C Programmable Scientific with continuous memory
- HP-27 Scientific and Financial
- HP-29C Programmable Scientific with continuous memory
The code name "Woodstock" referred both to the Woodstock series of calculators, and to the processor architecture use in them. The same processor architecture was also used in the Topcat, Sting, and Spice series, and the HP-67.
Enhancements:
- Build problems that occurred with certain versions of Bison were fixed.
- The need for an X server during the build process was eliminated.

FCGI::ProcManager 0.17

FCGI::ProcManager 0.17

FCGI::ProcManager is a Perl module with functions for managing FastCGI applications. more>>
FCGI::ProcManager is a Perl module with functions for managing FastCGI applications.

SYNOPSIS

{ # In Object-oriented style. use CGI::Fast; use FCGI::ProcManager; my $proc_manager = FCGI::ProcManager->new({ n_processes => 10 }); $proc_manager->pm_manage(); while (my $cgi = CGI::Fast->new()) { $proc_manager->pm_pre_dispatch(); # ... handle the request here ... $proc_manager->pm_post_dispatch(); }

# This style is also supported:
use CGI::Fast;
use FCGI::ProcManager qw(pm_manage pm_pre_dispatch
pm_post_dispatch);
pm_manage( n_processes => 10 );
while (my $cgi = CGI::Fast->new()) {
pm_pre_dispatch();
#...
pm_post_dispatch();
}

FCGI::ProcManager is used to serve as a FastCGI process manager. By re-implementing it in perl, developers can more finely tune performance in their web applications, and can take advantage of copy-on-write semantics prevalent in UNIX kernel process management. The process manager should be invoked before the callers request loop

The primary routine, pm_manage, enters a loop in which it maintains a number of FastCGI servers (via fork(2)), and which reaps those servers when they die (via wait(2)).
pm_manage provides too hooks:

C< managing_init > - called just before the manager enters the manager loop.
C< handling_init > - called just before a server is returns from C< pm_manage >

It is necessary for the caller, when implementing its request loop, to insert a call to pm_pre_dispatch at the top of the loop, and then 7pm_post_dispatch at the end of the loop.

gdcalc is a financial, statistics, scientific and programmers calculator for Unix and Linux with both RPN and algebraic modes. more>>
gdcalc project is a financial, statistics, scientific and programmers calculator for Unix and Linux with both RPN and algebraic modes.
The GUI was written with glade and uses the Gnome/Gtk+ toolkit - so it may well be compatible with themes and other whiz-bang features of those systems.
gdcalc has both Algebraic notation (ie. conventional, TI or Casio style) and Reverse Polish Notation (RPN or Hewlett-Packard style). If youve not heard of RPN before, you are probably familiar with algebraic calculators.
Very briefly, while simpler and more natural to use, RPN calculators need some study eg. they have an Enter key instead of the equals key.
