Parted Magic is a ~30mb LiveCD/USB with its only purpose being partitioning hard drives. Although GParted and Parted are the main programs, the CD/USB also offers programs like partimage, testdisk, fdisk, sfdisk, dd, etc...
Parted Magic is based on my work from the GParted LiveCD project and falls under the terms of the GPL.
Enhancements:
- We added dd_rhelp, sdparm, mbr, and xfburn for starters. All menus are bypassed now. After the syslinux menu, it boots to the desktop without any other interruptions. You can now create the LiveUSB from the LiveCD by using our new USB Operations program...

Arabian Linux also known as arl is a bootable CD with a compilation of GNU/Linux software, full support for Arabic/English languages and automatic hardware detection.
Its the first arabic live-distro using KDE as the default GUI, the first to have the arabic language enabled in consoles, pre-compiled ready-for-use softmodem drivers and the first to have its own control panel system in both languages (arabic/english). Arabian is recommended for beginners (using arabic language or not).
Arabian Linux is downloadable from this website as an ISO image. Its not necessary to install anything on a harddisk but you still can install it on your harddisk and run Arabian directly from your box.

Pam_smbmount is software that mounts file systems for user sessions. The project consists of a pluggable authentication module, daemon psmd and a psmount utility. Pam_smbmount is intended for servers with simultaneously working users. Currently it supports following file systems:
smbfs
any file systems that does not require user password for mounting (ext3, ntfs, nfs ...)
Main features:
- mount volumes when user starts session
- unmount volumes when user exits from system
- configure users that are allowed to mount particular volume(s) in configuration file
- exclude any part of user name when mounting volumes
- use special variables in configuration file in volume arguments
Advantages of pam_smbmount:
- Uses utmp database to decide whether user has logged off
- Hold database of mounted volumes per user. This feature permits usage of pam_smbmount on multi-user servers
- Mounts any amount of volumes without essential delay of authentication process
- Tries to remount volume if first attempt failed. You can set amount of tries in configuration file
- Doesnt stop unmounting volume if first attempt failed

QTParted is a Partition Magic clone written in C++ using the Qt toolkit.
Some note about REISERFS/NTFS/JFS/EXT3 support in QTParted: Even if libparted does not support these filesystems QTParted can handle it. Of course it do it using external tools. This are the latest support status of this filesystems:
- Ntfs - Needed mkntfs and ntfsresize (linux-ntfs)
- ReiserFS - Needed (progsreiserfs) by libparted. Warning: progsreiserfs is not reisergsprogs!
- JFS - Needed mkfs.jfs (jfsutils)
- Ext2/Ext3 - Needed mkfs.ext3 (e2fsprogs)
- XFS - Needed mkfs.xfs (xfsprogs)
