Free panoptis 0.1.4 software for linux

Panoptis plans to create a network security tool (N-IDS) to detect and block DoS and DDoS attacks. The programming language is C++, and the input is being provided by routers.
First, you need a router that exports NetFlow(TM) data. Versions 1, 5 and 8 are supported, although version 8 has not been tested AT ALL. You also need a server for accepting data and processing it.
In order to compile the software you need a C++ compiler (tested only with g++ for the time being) and the CommonC++ library, found at http://www.gnu.org/software/commonc++/CommonC++.html At the moment the software has been linked against and tested with commoncpp2-1.0.9
YOU WILL ALSO NEED g++ VERSION 3.x!!! This is very important! Compiling with g++ 2.95.x or earlier versions causes segmantation faults in some cases. This has to do with CommonC++, not Panoptis.
Before you can use the software, you must also have read SNMP access to your router. That is only needed by the speeds.py script that collects some initial information (the .py extention should already make you think youll need the Python programming language installed -- thats true.
Enhancements:
- Update so that Panoptis compiles and runs on newer systems (GCC 3.3.5, CommonC++2 1.5.3).
- No new features, unfortunately.

pyraknet is a Python extension that has bindings for the reliable UDP network library RakNet.
pyraknet allows you to concentrate on your game or application rather then writing a your own networking code. pyraknet is straightforward to implement and you only need a small amount of TCP/IP networking knowledge.

- Optonally specify packets to be reliable -- packets will automatically resend themselves if dropped.

- There are now Mac OS X binaries and a few new methods.

libplis is library for Perl-like string manipulation for C++. It includes the string class plis::slip and the list class plis::llip.
Together, these two provide the Perl-like methods that include regular expressions (through PCRE), split(), join(), grep(), chomp, tr///, s///, sprintf(), etc.
It can also be described as a C++ frontend to PCRE, but its array manipulations make it much more powerful than only that. libplis library comes with Doxygen API documentation.
Enhancements:
- A few new utility functions have been added (slip_read_file and slipvprintf), a memory leak has been fixed, and a few problems in the documentation have been fixed.

pcapsipdump project is a tool for dumping (recording) SIP sessions (and RTP traffic, if available) to disk in a fashion similar to "tcpdump -w" (the format is exactly the same).

The difference is that the data is saved with one file per SIP session. Even if there are thousands of concurrect SIP sessions, each goes to separate file.

Photozeec is a software which lets you to modify digital photos (add date, add borders) depending on models.

Principle : Choose a group of photos, set a title to this group, choose a model (modification template) and run the image conversion process.

The software works for a few minutes and gives you you digital photos modified with date, borders depending on the model choosen.

XMMSVoteList is an XMMS plugin for creating customized playlists and ignore-lists.

XMMSVoteList also counts the number of times a song is played, which can then be used as a search pattern when editing a playlist.

Kipi (KDE Image Plugin Interface) is an effort to develop a common plugin structure for Digikam, KimDaBa, Showimg and Gwenview.
Kipis aim is to share image plugins among graphic applications. Kipi is based on the old digiKam plugins implementation and is maintened by digiKam team.

Wbumount is a tool that lists processes which are blocking the unmounting of a device.

Wbumount has two goals: (1) Make a "statement" how i would deal with the "umount - device is busy"-problem on the free desktop. (2) To provide a small tool which makes life easier for people already using the desktop - until someone comes up with a better solution.

Wbumount helps to find out, which processes block unmounting or ejecting devices (such as cdroms, usb-harddisks...).

Wbumount only deals with mount points which are under user control ("user"-option in fstab or mtab).

wbumount consists of two parts:

* The command line utility "wbumount". It has to be installed as "suid root" in order to see all processes via /sbin/fuser , because certain applications like the "fam"-file alteration monitor (used by nautilus) run as root. Link to fam.
* The pygtk frontend "wbumount-gtk":
This desktop app shows the list of processes, which "block" a certain mountpoint. The list gets updated every second - you will see processes come and go...
When all processes are gone, the buttons "umount" and "eject" get activated.
The "Mountpoint"-menu also gets updated permanently - when you mount a device, its mountpoint is added to the list.
