Kickoff for CRUX is a little port of Kickoff for CRUX. more>>
Kickoff for CRUX is a little port of Kickoff for CRUX.
With a little Animation at the Menu-Button
Please install this with pkgmk or prt-get!
You can use the httpup File to checkout the whole Repository or get only Kickoff with:
httpup sync http://ecarux.de/ports#kickoff kickoff.
Please use the pre-install script to backup your normal kicker.
It is recommended to build kickoff for CRUX with the pkgutils, but for all people who have problems (maybe with autoconf etc. ) there is a precompiled binary package too.
It has now heavy optimisation, just generic i686.
Attention:
Kickoff will overwrite your normal Kicker.
So be careful!
Please use the pre-install script to backup your normal kicker.
Enhancements:
- Fixed some Problems with newer SVN Version (some patches ...)
- Add pre-install and post-remove scripts to backup and reinstall the normal kicker.
- New precompiled binary package (date 24.05.2007)

Kickoff Qt Fedora 7 1.0

Kickoff Qt Fedora 7 1.0

Kickoff QT desktop panel for KDE is the best effort effort to maximize the users experience. more>>
Kickoff QT desktop panel for KDE is the best effort effort to maximize the users experience.
Kicker QT requires less clicking to launch programs because it uses the mouse over effect which is lacking in other menu launchers. it also loads plugins and uses qtcurve which is lacking in other menu launchers for that eye candy we like. The history feature keeps track of recent programs and files/documents in an organized display which is lacking in other menu launchers. Favorites is as nearly as quick as quick launcher which is lacking in other menu launchers in that it required one click.
Note: Other menu launchers includes Vista.
You can also adjust the size of the menu unlike older menu launchers which become cluttered over time and explode all over your desktop. ;^D
WARNING this is a Force install at the time and will mutilate KDEbase, not for the faint of heart! I am working on the entire KDE 3.5.7 KDE QT which will be debugged for personal use with development on mng animation.
Use this at your own risk!!!
Reboot after installing launch button respones slowly the first few seconds.
Enhancements:
- replaced suse button with FedoraBubbles kbfx button

openSUSE KDE Tweaks 10.2

openSUSE KDE Tweaks 10.2

openSUSE KDE Tweaks are actually KDE 3.5.5 (openSUSE 10.2) patches and two RPM tools. more>>
openSUSE KDE Tweaks are actually KDE 3.5.5 (openSUSE 10.2) patches and two RPM tools through which I have added, modified and removed some features.
I like and dislike the new kickoff menu at the same time, so I decided to change everything about it that I dont like.
Although my patches were meant to change only the new kickoff menu, I ended up changing other parts of KDE, and even writing two little apps. The results of my hacking are all here, so make good use of it.
The patch provides the following modifications:
bi-kicker:
- Changes the order of the kickoff tabs to a more logical order (in order of access frequency): Favorites, Applications, History, Leave
- Removes the IMHO useless Computer tab (can be replaced with a sysinfo icon in the Favorites tab)
- Corrects the order of Grub entries (to descending) in the "Start Operating System" submenu
- Removes the useless "Restart and boot directly into ..." comments from the Start OS submenu
- Changes the order of the Recently Used Apps to the same order as in the old menu and as in the Recent Documents list (new at top, older at bottom)
- Lower the number of days a New Application entry is kept (1 instead of 3)
- Adds an Uninstall context menu entry which calls the uninstall_rpm script with the *.desktop file as the first parameter
- Changes in the old KMenu the "Recently Used Applications" tag to just "Recently Used" and the "Most Used Applications" tag to "Most Used"
- Adds a rounded corner to the left side of the search mode
bi-kicker_noshadow:
- Everything included in bi-kicker
- Removes the shadow surrounding the menu. Useful for those who enable the nVidia composite mode (providing a cool shadow for all active windows) and would like to avoid a strange double shadow effect.
bi-kdesktop:
- Prevents the unwanted realignment of desktop icons when the Auto Align
bi-kcontrol:
- Removed the "Get New Wallpapers" button from the Desktop Configuration Dialog, because it provides unfiltered access to images that are more and more shameless
- Changes the icon of the Display option (different from the Screensaver option)
bi-krpmview:
- Adds a "Quick Install" button to the krpmview kpart which calls the install_rpm script with the *.rpm file as the first parameter
The RPM-Tools provide:
- Simple and quick solution to install an RPM + konqueror service menu
- Simple and quick solution to uninstall an RPM + konqueror service menu
- No dependency handling

FootieFox 1.3.1

FootieFox 1.3.1

FootieFox is a Firefox extension shows soccer scores for todays matches of many European leagues - live and almost instantly. more>>
FootieFox is a Firefox extension shows soccer scores for todays matches of many European leagues - live and almost instantly. No matter what youre occupied with at your computer, FootieFox informs you about current matches and every goal scored.
Main features:
- display of current soccer scores in your status bar
- all matches at a glance on the customizable score board
- support of more than 18 European leagues plus many international championships
- visual and acoustic notification when goals are scored
- kick-off times in local time, world cup teams in local language
Small but big
FootieFox is tiny. (Some even say its cute!) This is definitely true in terms of the programs size and appearence: The Add-on integrates smoothly in the status bar of your Firefox browser. A nonintrusive panel on the status bar displays two little flags and the score - thats about it! However, the service of keeping you up to date with the latest soccer scores is extremely useful.
We carefully designed FootieFox to be a small, unintrusive but very efficient tool. This was our goal from the very beginnning.
Keep track on a busy matchday
For each league you are interested in you are provided with a score board which contains current and recent matches. Its left to your personal preference what elements you want to be displayed on this board to get the quickest overview possible.
European leagues for soccer fans world wide
Our list of available leagues grows constantly. Right now, we offer leagues from the following countries:
Belgium
Germany
Denmark
England
Finland
France
Greece
Ireland
Italy
Holland
Norway
Austria
Portugal
Scotland
Sweden
Switzerland
Spain
Turkey
And yes, we support the World Cup!
If your country happens to be not amongst the above, please stay tuned. Hopefully we will be able to add it in the near future.
You work, we entertain you
From now on, you no longer need to frequent live ticker pages and refresh them regularily to keep up with your favorite league. You can stay focused on your work, FootieFox will let you know when your team scores! When a goal is scored an alert slider pops up which indicates the scoring team. Additionally, an audible alert can be played. As long as your Firefox browser is running, this works whatever else you might be doing. Even if its watching a DVD.

Tasty Menu 0.9

Tasty Menu 0.9

Tasty Menu project is a KMenu replacement aiming to provide the maximum usability. more>>
Tasty Menu project is a KMenu replacement aiming to provide the maximum usability, or at least to be a testbed for usability concepts and ideas for a future kmenu replacement.
The left part of the menu is very similar to the Novell idea (http://www.novell.com/products/desktop/preview.html): you have a search box that is always selected when the menu is opened (the search result are displayed in the leftmost listview), followed by a combobox that decides what the following listview: favourite applications (default), most used applications, recently used applications and recent documents.
The right part contains the whole kmenu and takes the aspect from KBFX (http://www.kbfx.org), the middle column contains the top level categorization (plus in the current kmenu arrangment there are also the control center, home folder and find files, but i think there should be present only categories). in the left-most listview there is the content of the category currently selected in the middle column. I think in this way even if it has the same number of items it _appears_ less huge than with a popup menu/submenu structure.
every items have two row, for the name and for the description, in order to make a more it more informative. On each selected item appears an action icon on the right, at the moment they are "add bookmark" on application icons and "remove bookmark" on favourite apps list.
The bottom buttons are the usual switch user, lock session and logout. In a first time I didnt want to put them, I tought that these function should be delegate to another applet like http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=26150 , but it seems that the multiple menus concept its a thing that doesnt work very well in practice, it needs more real-world testing.
The left-most btton contains the user name and icon, and clicking on it it opens the kcm used to edit the users profile. I know it seems silly, but Its only an experiment, probably it will be merged with the switch user button.
Enhancements:
- "Add to desktop" option in menuitems
- Drag and drop from menu to desktop
- Option to set different icons sizes in the three columns
- the button text label should always be of a visible color
- most used/recently used applications list updates in realtime
- clear most used/recently used applications list
- (warning1: deleting one list deletes also the other)
- (warning2: if you use opensuse you must have kickoff reverted to classic kmenu in order to use the recently used/most used lists)
- updated russian and german translations
