ScitePM 1.6.8

ScitePM 1.6.8

ScitePM is a lightweight, Gtk-based project manager for use with the SciTE editor. more>>
ScitePM is a lightweight, Gtk-based project manager for use with the SciTE editor. It allows the user to organize a set of files as a project, like most IDEs, and then open them within SciTE.
ScitePM uses the SciTE "Director" interface to communicate with SciTE. Note also that SciTE must be named "SciTE" or "scite" to allow ScitePM to correctly launch it. If this is not the case on your system, create a symlink something like this:
ln -s /usr/local/bin/scite_exec_blah_blah ~/bin/scite (Obviously that assumes that SciTE is /usr/local/bin/scite_exec_blah_blah on your system)
Usage:
ScitePM is very simple to use. Click the "Open Project," "Save Project," or "Add Files" buttons to do the obvious things. Right-click on the main pane of the app to add files or groups (i.e. folders). Drag and drop folders and files within the app to arrange to your satisfaction.
To open a file, double-click it or highlight it and press return/enter. Note that the SciTE executable must be named "SciTE" for ScitePM to launch it!
The command line syntax for scitepm is:
scitepm [-q|--quiet] [-v|--version] [-h|--help] [project-path]
-q | --quiet = do not show the "About" dialog at startup.
-v | --version = print the application version to stdout at startup
-h | --help = print the usage (what youre reading now) to stdout
[project-path] = the path to a ScitePM project file to load at startup
Enhancements:
- rrwood - 2006/05/27 - Activate SciTE via "_NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW" message to ewmh-compliant window manager

SnortSMS 1.6.8

SnortSMS 1.6.8

SnortSMS is a highly configurable sensor management system. more>>
SnortSMS is a highly configurable sensor management system that provides the ability to remotely administer Snort [and Barnyard] based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), push configuration files, add/edit rules, and monitor system health and statistics, all from a simple and clean Web interface console.
Whether you have one or multiple Snort sensors, SnortSMS can help unify and syncronize all sensor configurations.
Main features:
- Centralized Sensor Management - Unify all sensors under one common console interface. Create and share global configuration policies throughout your IDS sensors. Remotely start and stop sensors.
- Barnyard Support - Integrated support for Barnyard including auto-generation of sid-msg.map.
- Health Monitoring - Monitor the statistics and health of all your sensors. Our parallel querying engine retrives vital stats from all sensors simustainiously.

OS-SIM 0.9.9 RC5

OS-SIM 0.9.9 RC5

Ossim stands for Open Source Security Information Management. more>>
Ossim stands for Open Source Security Information Management. OS-SIMs goal is to provide a comprehensive compilation of tools which, when working together, grant a network/security administrator with detailed view over each and every aspect of his networks/hosts/physical access devices/server/etc...
Besides getting the best out of well known open source tools, some of which are quickly described below these lines, ossim provides a strong correlation engine, detailed low, mid and high level visualization interfaces as well as reporting and incident managing tools, working on a set of defined assets such as hosts, networks, groups and services.
All this information can be limited by network or sensor in order to provide just the needed information to specific users allowing for a fine grained multi-user security environment. Also, the ability to act as an IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) based on correlated information from virtually any source result in a useful addition to any security professional.
Main features:
- Arpwatch, used for mac anomaly detection.
- P0f, used for passive OS detection and os change analisys.
- Pads, used for service anomaly detection.
- Nessus, used for vulnerability assessment and for cross correlation (IDS vs Security Scanner).
- Snort, the IDS, also used for cross correlation with nessus.
- Spade, the statistical packet anomaly detection engine. Used to gain knowledge about attacks without signature.
- Tcptrack, used for session data information which can grant useful information for attack correlation.
- Ntop, which builds an impressive network information database from which we can get aberrant behaviour anomaly detection.
- Nagios. Being fed from the host asset database it monitors host and service availability information.
- Osiris, a great HIDS.

Kuliax 6.0

Kuliax 6.0

Kuliax project is an effort to bring Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) to University education, especially in Indonesia. more>>
Kuliax project is an effort to bring Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) to University education, especially in Indonesia. Many students and lecturers have been "addicted" to the closed-source and expensive software that they couldnt afford or not suitable with their needs. Universities encouraged to do something important to the _real_ meaning of education by using and developing FOSS.
FOSS gives civitas academica freedom to use, study, modify, and distribute all software released under its licenses. We should spend more money to the empowerment of human resources, instead of products. This is great, if each universities generate as many as possible people who can develop themself and their surrounding with true and open knowledge, the one that forgeted by some/most education institutions.
Kuliax Project provides bridge between students, lecturers, and civitas academica to cooperate with each other. In Bahasa Indonesia, its called Gotong Royong. Like the logo which symbolizes peoples hands that holds one to another, making a square.
The near possible milestone to reach that goal is developing Linux distro to fit University or Campus needs and invite people to join in.
Kuliax, is one of the implementation for the first milestone, Linux distro for Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related department, but its likely can be used by some others departments as well. It tries to provide "base system" and applications suited to the curriculum/syllabus.

SIGOF 0.9 RC1

SIGOF 0.9 RC1

SIGOF is a Security Information Graphics Oriented Forensic application. more>>
SIGOF (Security Information Graphics Oriented Forensic) has been developped as a complement of ACID or BASE project by implementing useful and detailed graphical presentation of security information/events.

SIGOF is a web-based project, written in PHP, and it can exploit any secuity information stored in a ACID/BASE database schema (for example, SIGOF can exploit OSSIM project events, because it is based on the acid/base schema).

SIGOF introduces another way to manage security forensic and analysis by providing statistical and security trend thanks to very customizable graphics generation.

This approach provide the capability to manage large amount of security events.
