Open 4GL WebServices 0.2 Beta
Open 4GL WebServices is an opensource project to implement a wizard and a framework. more>>
Open 4GL WebServices is an opensource project to implement a wizard and a framework to make it easy to publish PROGRESS procedures as WebServices generating the WSDL and WS code, without requiring the developer to learn XML or the framework itself.
With this tool the developer can select an existing PROGRESS procedure and produce the WSDL file and/or a proxy procedure that handle the SOAP call and translate between SOAP and PROGRESS datatypes. Open 4GL WebServices also can handle the WS-I security recommendation requiring a custom procedure to authenticate the user/password.
Also, the generated proxy procedure is based on procedure templates (skeletons), these templates allow the developer to choose how to deploy the webservice. The developer can choose between webspeed, a batch version to call it from a CGI, a socket based version, or a custom template, etc.
This kind of project had been there for years, i had read some documents about howto build it, but nobody had been released the complete solution as open source by now. Its an alternative to the commercial version distributed by PROGRESS, only that this version doesnt require Sonic MQ or the AppServer to run properly.
Installation:
Put the entire o4glws directory somewhere in the PROPATH and make a copy the
file o4glws.i in any directory in the PROPATH of the deployment machine, because its needed to compile the deployed webservice adapter procedures.
INCLUDED FILES
o4glwsAdapter.p Webservice adapter generator
o4glwso4glws.i Library included in every adapter
o4glwso4glws.w Wizard to generate adapter/WSDL files
o4glwsprocDlg.w Dialog to select the procedures to include in the
webservice
o4glwsprocInfo.i Temp-table definitions used by all programs
o4glwsprocInfo.p Extracts the information about internal procedure,
functions and temp-tables of a procedure file
o4glwsREADME.TXT This file
o4glwsLicense.txt Software license
o4glwstransparent.ico The wizards icon
o4glwsWizard3.gif One of the wizards images
o4glwsSuccess.gif One of the wizards images
o4glwsError.gif One of the wizards images
o4glwsWSDL.p WSDL adapter generator
o4glwssample Samples of the generated code
o4glwstemplates Templates used to generate adapters
Enhancements:
- A "Unable to use Namespace: []" message was removed.
- Malformed Web service addresses were corrected.
- A problem where the generated WSDL did not correctly describe the output parameters of the Adapters was fixed.
- Buffer handlers for output tables are no longer needed.
- Date parameters are now supported.
- Speed for output tables was optimized.
- Expiration date and time parameters were added to securityTemplate.p.
- A fault report was added.

Planktum 0.1rev1
Planktum is a Live-CD for the inmigrant communities, the goal: improve access to internet communication applications. more>>
Planktum is a Live-CD for the inmigrant communities and hes goal is to improve access to internet communication applications.
Planktum is a trimmed live-CD, its not and will not be a technical show-off, for version 01 it comes out based on SLAX, but future releases could be based in any system that allows to be customized (instead of a full fledge packaged system, we present a fast, versatile and "slimmed" spanish-english one) that simplifies at most the boot process and that includes a friendly GUI following an aesthetic touch close to the visual culture of the target group of users to whom it is addressed.
We intent to distribute this around immigrant communities, be it africans, latinos, chinese, etc. A graphical interface receives the user in an enviroment with 4 basic icons on the desktop. all leading to communication applications (present version includes
Skype, WebBrowser, Email Client and an Instant Messaging application).
Planktum could be a build from a ranging sea of FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software): jabber to gollum or gnome metting to a puredata pidip based patch, all acording to the pool of resources that is out there in the opensource world withouth wich this project wouldnt be possible.
Help us make it better sending feedback to: kdagATautistici.org

ImageSpace 0.5
ImageSpace is OpenSource software running on Unix/X11 systems. more>>
ImageSpace is OpenSource software running on Unix/X11 systems. ImageSpace is a genetic image generator, that means it generates and mutates mathematical functions while the users aesthetic perception is the fitness function, selecting an image which will be mutated.
Since the functions are represented by syntax trees, the search space is really infinite (though your computers capacity limit your voyeages to the more simple images).
ImageSpace allows you to choose some parameters like syntax tree depth, width and mutation probability.
Currently, the functions cant be saved, loaded or viewed in their symbolic form. Only the images can be saved in PNG format.
The software is built with the Trolltech QT3 widget-set, which means Windows and OSX- versions are possible, but the porting would cost money (Trolltech provides the free license for UNIX OpenSource development only) so its not available right now.
ImageSpace is released under the Gnu Public License (GPL), which basically means it is allowed to use and distribute it for free (and only for free). To learn more, go to www.gnu.org .
Enhancements:
- This release uses the Qt4 API.
- It compiles on Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.
- A Windows binary is available on the homepage.

Xenomorph Image Processor 0.6
Xenomorph Image Processor is an high-precision image processing software. more>>
Xenomorph is OpenSource software running on Unix/X11 systems. It provides a unified concept of polynomial and morphologic image filters. It is built for precision, not for speed, that means it works in floating-point mode internally.
It can read PNG, JPG and many other formats, and it writes PNG. A nice feature of this software is its upgradeability by adding new filters. You can learn here how to do this.
The software is built with the Trolltech QT3 widget-set, which means Windows and OSX- versions are possible, but the port would cost money (Trolltech provides his free license for UNIX OpenSource development only) so its not available right now.

gspeakfreely 0.6
Gspeakfreely is a VoIP system with a flexible component system. more>>
Gspeakfreely is a VoIP system with a flexible component system. It implements a set of audio processing components which can be connected to each other or mixed together. The most important components are net in/output, which implement VoIP functionality and the OSS-DSP in/output component. Additionally there is a ISDN in/output component that allows making actual phone connections, and a file input component that can also play Internet radio streams. Also included is a fading plug-in, that can for example fade incoming calls into your music. New components can be developed for specific purposes, and combined with existing ones.
The net in/output components also have conference support bult-in. The net input component can mix incoming audio data from different hosts.
If you want to use all the components, you have to use linux. But you can use it on some PDAs (with linux installed), too. The arm-linux binary can be used e.g. on an Compaq Ipaq.
You can use parts of gspeakfreely also on other unixes. On Solaris you have only the file_input, net_input, net_output, and monitor_output components.
Main features:
- Encrpytion is easier configurable
- You can use gpg to transfer the key
- Buddy list (with an sflwld server, try the server running on opensource.wearlab.de)
- Voice activation
- Easier config file syntax
- Partly support of the RTP protocol
- LD_PRELOAD to redirect output to /dev/dsp from other applications to gspeakfreely
- Enhanced playlist
