Scalable OpenGroupware.org (SOGo in short) is a groupware server built around OpenGroupware.org (OGo) and the SOPE application server.
We are constantly improving functionnalities and the user experience. So far, we improved the user interface to use AJAX and we focused on the integration of the Mozilla suite (Thunderbird, Sunbird/Lightning).
We also added CalDAV support so that any calendaring application which uses this standard protocol can now communicate with SOGo.
Main features:
- Complete redesign of the user-interface to give SOGo a look and feel similar to the Mozilla Thunderbird and Sunbird applications
- Calendar and address book sharing
- Mutiple address books and LDAP-based address books
- Concept of tasks
- Contacts in vCard
- Integration with the Mozilla application suite
Enhancements:
- A superuser can be defined.
- The raw message source can be viewed.
- Compatibility was checked with PostgreSQL 8.2.
- The menus of the Web date selector would no longer appear.
- An SQL constraint violation would prevent task entries from being recorded.
- The due date in tasks was incorrectly set.
- It was impossible to empty the start and the due date in the task editor from the moment they were set.
- IMAP folders with non-ASCII characters can now be accessed.
- The quotas of the selected mailbox are displayed (if available).
- Users were prevented from accessing shared resources in DAV.

JobPal 1.1.6
JobPal is a tool that can be used as an aid in online job searching. more>>
JobPal is a tool that can be used as an aid in online job searching.
In todays job market, most positions are found on internet job boards, and resumes and cover letters are submitted via email. Most of the work involves customization of cover letters for each unique position, and repetitively adding attachments to email messages.
This process can be time consuming, and as anyone who has been involved in a job search knows, employers receive hundreds of applicants for each position they post. This means that the faster you get your resume and cover letter to the employer, the more likely that your resume will be viewed.
JobPal automatically customizes each message using a template that you create:
With JobPal you can automatically customize information such as the company name you are sending your resume to, the exact title of the position you are applying to, and the website that you found the job posting on. This is all made possible through the use of template tags. You make the template using a text editor, and JobPal does the rest of the work for you. The message that appears in the preview window will be the message written in the body of the email.
JobPal lets you add up to five templates to choose from:
If you are applying to different types of positions, you have probably realized that you should have a specialized cover letter which advertises particular skills and experience for the targeted position. JobPal lets you easily switch between cover letter templates. Simply select the template you want to send and press the "Send Emial" button. It is that easy!
JobPal only requires you to add attachments once, and they are saved until you change them:
With a regular email client, you have to take the time to add attachments every time you send a message. This is one of the most time consuming parts of sending resumes to employers. JobPal only requires that you add attachments once. Each time you send an email, your attachments will automatically be included, saving you extra time and effort.
JobPal keeps track of all positions you have sent messages to:
When an employer calls you regarding a resume, it is important to know the title of the position you applied for, and the date the resume was sent. Many job hunters do this manually, by writing down information about positions as they apply for them. JobPal can do all of this work for you.
JobPals security feature prevents you from sending a message to the same employer twice:
JobPal has a security feature that will warn you if you have sent a message to the same email address in the past. This feature can be turned off if the user desires.

Dynagraph 1.1.6.1
Dynagraph is a cross-platform library and command-line tool for dynamically drawing graphs. more>>
Dynagraph libraries are written in platform-neutral C++. As such, Dynagraph itself does not render to the screen, bitmaps, etc. Instead, the Dynagraph executable can be piped to a front end using the custom incrface language, or the library can be used directly in C++ programs, or in Windows programs via COM wrapper classes.
Gordon Woodhull maintains and improves Dynagraph continually. It is based on the brilliant work of the Graphviz team at AT&T Research, particularly Stephen North and Emden R. Gansner.
While Gordon consulted for AT&T Research from 1997 to 2003, he designed a new architecture and ported the DynaDAG and FDP engines from C to C++. Since his departure from AT&T, he has continued to rearchitect Dynagraph and add powerful new features.
Dynagraph is licensed under the Common Public License.
Whats New in 1.1.5.9 Stable Release:
- This improves the build system for *nix, esp using automatically generated dependencies.
- Requires gnu make.
Whats New in 1.1.6.1 Development Release:
- Contains a fix for the nodecross bug.
- Also parallel edges appear to be working.

GOPchop 1.1.7
GOPchop is an open source tool for losslessly cutting and merging hardware-encoded MPEG2 video files. more>>
GOPchop is an open source tool for losslessly cutting and merging hardware-encoded MPEG2 video files. It limits cuts to I-frames or group-of-picture (GOP) boundaries, thereby preventing artifacts and degradation of quality by not needing to re-encode.
GOP boundaries occur frequently enough (especially at scene boundaries), that GOPchops method is quite suitable for many applications. It tends to be most handy for people working with streams created by hardware encoders.
Main features:
- Trimming recordings to desired start/end times.
- Extracting short clips from longer recordings.
- Editing commercials out of recorded TV programs.
- Splitting .VOB files from dual-layer DVD rips so the content can be put on each side of a single-layer DVD-R.
Enhancements:
- GOPchop is nearing the 1.2.0 stable release.
- This version even includes some experimental MPEG1 support from Brent Baccala.
- Several small fixes were added since the 1.1.6 releases changes to preferences handling. Download it and give it a spin!

Set CD-ROM Speed 1.1.6
Set CD-ROM Speed is written in Kommander as a helpful application to set CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drive speed more>> Set CD-ROM Speed 1.1.6 is written in Kommander as a helpful application to set CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drive speed. Since the issues mentioned here apply to CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives as well as to recorders for these types of media, in this document the name 'CD-ROM drive' will be used to refer to all of these drive types.
Major Features:
- Fast CD-ROM drives have one big disadvantage over older and slower models. In order to be able to support high data transfer speeds, the CD-ROM disk must spin very quickly in the disk drive, which results in a lot of noise. This loud humming can make listening to MP3 or OGG music from CD-ROMs a very unpleasant experience and is very annoying at best for other tasks which don't require the CD-ROM to work at full speed.
- Using set-cd-rom-speed, you can decrease the drive's speed and thus reduce the annoying noise. The GUI allows choosing three predefined speeds suitable for different tasks and custom speeds provided by the user. The list of available CD-ROM drives is generated based on information from /etc/fstab. This works even if you use supermount-ng or subfs for mounting the CD-ROMs. The program supports multiple languages and several translations are available. It also integrates with KDE by adding an item which allows setting drive speed to the context menu of CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drive icons displayed on the desktop.
- Added Czech translation (thanks to Jozef Riha)
- Fixes in Slovak translation (thanks to Jozef Riha)
- Two variants of Brazilian Portuguese translation merged into one (thanks to Dherik Barison)

FreeRADIUS 1.1.6
FreeRADIUS is a feature-rich, high-performance RADIUS server. more>>
FreeRADIUS is the premiere open source RADIUS server. While detailed statistics are not available, we believe that FreeRADIUS is well within the top 5 RADIUS servers world-wide, in terms of the number of people who use it daily for authentication.
FreeRADIUS project scales from embedded systems with small amounts of memory, to systems with millions of users. It is fast, flexible, configurable, and supports more authentication protocols than many commercial servers.
The FreeRADIUS Server Project encompasses more than just a RADIUS server. The related software includes a PAM authentication module, and an Apache 1.3 and 2.0 authentication module. The server comes with a PHP-based web user administration tool, called dialupadmin.
The RADIUS server has more features and is more flexible than any other free software RADIUS server, and many commercial servers. Most commercial servers are distributed as a "base" system ($), and an "enhanced" version ($$) with more features. FreeRADIUS has all the features of a commercial "enhanced" server, without the associated cost.
In it simplest form, the server is similar to Livingstons 2.0 server. Many configuration files are similar, and the general operation of the server should be familiar to anyone who has used a variant of the Livingston server.
FreeRADIUS can be extended significantly from this simple form, however. There are many modules and configuration files which have no equivalent in older RADIUS servers. These new features permit FreeRADIUS to work within complex systems, and environments which require high performance.
To support the demanding requirements of a modern RADIUS server, FreeRADIUS features more than 50 vendor-specific dictionary files. It ships with support for LDAP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle databases. It supports EAP, with EAP-MD5, EAP-SIM, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, EAP-PEAP, and Cisco LEAP sub-types.
It supports proxying, with fail-over and load balancing. It has reached a stable 1.0 release, with incremental improvements being added and tested daily. In short, it is a powerful, fast, and complex RADIUS server which is compatible with the latest network protocols and practices, and is well suited for deployment in any size network.
Enhancements:
- A few dictionaries have been added.
- Several bugs have been fixed, including some double frees that were found in 1.1.5.
- Nearly 30 bugs found by Coverity were also fixed, including a memory leak in the EAP-TTLS code.
