XML::Structured 1.0

XML::Structured 1.0

XML::Structured is a simple conversion API from XML to perl structures and back. more>>
XML::Structured is a simple conversion API from XML to perl structures and back.

SYNOPSIS

use XML::Structured;

$dtd = [
element =>
attribute1,
attribute2,
[],
element1,
[ element2 ],
[ element3 =>
...
],
[[ element4 =>
...
]],
];

$hashref = XMLin($dtd, $xmlstring);
$hashref = XMLinfile($dtd, $filename_or_glob);
$xmlstring = XMLout($dtd, $hashref);

The XML::Structured module provides a way to convert xml data into a predefined perl data structure and back to xml. Unlike with modules like XML::Simple it is an error if the xml data does not match the provided skeleton (the "dtd"). Another advantage is that the order of the attributes and elements is taken from the dtd when converting back to xml.

Structured Document Validator 0.7.9

Structured Document Validator project implements a generalized method for structured documents. more>>
Structured Document Validator project implements a generalized method for validating both the structure and content of structured documents.

Any data format that can be deterministically divided into tags and data is classed as a structured document. This definition applies to a wide array of data formats, including XML, Java properties files, and delimited value files.

The application performs validations based on user-defined Structured Document Definitions (SDDs). It provides an environment for validation, SDD development, and document editing.

Erwin Data Structures is a library that is meant to be the ultimate data structure library for mixed usage of C and C++. more>>
Erwin Data Structures is a library that is meant to be the ultimate data structure library for mixed usage of C and C++.

Arbitrary key and value types are implemented by template files that dont use C++ templates, but are instantiated by a Perl script.

This way, mixed usage in C and C++ is possible. However, a C++ interface is generated to support the advantages of the C++ language. No templates, no void*.
Erwin contains a number of tools, too, all of them written in Perl. The following list shows the data structures and tools, together with some typical examples.

GraphViz::Data::Structure 0.15

GraphViz::Data::Structure 0.15

GraphViz::Data::Structure can visualise data structures. more>>
GraphViz::Data::Structure can visualise data structures.

SYNOPSIS

use GraphViz::Data::Structure;

my $gvds = GraphViz:Data::Structure->new($data_structure);
print $gvds->graph()->as_png;

This module makes it easy to visualise data structures, even recursive or circular ones.
It is provided as an alternative to GraphViz::Data::Grapher. Differences:

GraphViz::Data::Structure handles structures of arbitrary depth and complexity, automatically following links using a standard graph traversal algorithm.
GraphViz::Data::Grapher creates graphics of indiividual substructures (arrays, scalars, hashes) which keep the substructure type and data together; GraphViz::Data::Structure does this by shape alone.
GraphViz::Data::Structure encapsulates object info (if any) directly into the node being used to represent the class.
GraphViz::Data::Grapher colors its graphs; GraphViz::Data::Structure doesnt by default.
GraphViz::Data:Structure can parse out globs and CODE references (almost as well as the debugger does).

Medical Imaging Interaction Toolkit 0.6

Medical Imaging Interaction Toolkit 0.6

Medical Imaging Interaction Toolkit aims at supporting the development of leading-edge medical imaging software. more>>
Medical Imaging Interaction Toolkit (MITK) is currently under active development, and aims at supporting the development of leading-edge medical imaging software with a high degree of interaction. It combines vtk, itk and the pic-based-libraries of the Div.
Main features:
- multiple, consistent views on the same data. For example, when you have three orthogonal 2D-views and a 3D view and data consisting of a green surface, the surface will be visible and green in all views (as contour lines in 2D, as a surface in 3D), and when you move the surface, it will move in all views. When you try to realize this with basic vtk, you will need to coordinate the position/orientation/color/... of all the views somewhere in your program - exactly this can mitk do for you.
- interactions that create and/or modify data (not only actors as in basic vtk)
- complex interactions with multiple states, e.g., for interaction with active contours
- undo/redo of interactions
- organization of data objects in a tree at run-time, e.g., to represent logical dependencies (e.g., a heart cavity is a part of the heart) or to control the rendering process
- additional properties of arbitrary type can be assigned to data objects contained in the data tree
- visualization and interaction with 3D+t data (basic vtk can handle only 3D data and itk is not for visualization and interaction)
- although mitk is mainly a toolkit and not an application, it offers some support on the application-level, e.g, for structured combination of modules (so-called functionalities), e.g., for combining and switching between one functionality for segmentation and another for registration.
Enhancements:
- New functionalities: IsoSurface, ViewInitialization and Measurement.
- Support for ITK 2.4-2.8, VTK 4.4 and 5.0.
- Lots of bugfixes and improvements, e.g. interaction for rotatable slices.

PHP_Application 0.3b

PHP_Application 0.3b

PHP_Application is a platform for development of event-driven applications. more>>
PHP_Application project is a platform for development of event-driven applications in which two mechanisms of distribution of events for two levels of abstraction accordingly are realized. The first level are objects and their events, the second - the application and its events.
The mechanism of distribution of events of the applications supports distribution of the directed and broadcasting events, and also provides synchronous or asynchronous processing events.
The structure of the application represents hierarchy of objects with various levels of abstraction. Functionality of the application is completely defined by a set of the objects included in the application, and interaction between them, i.e. a stream of events. The used structure of the application allows to operate a stream of events extending downwards on hierarchy of objects.
PHP_Application includes, also, two interchangeable libraries: HTML Component Library (HCL) and XML Component Library (XCL) which use, accordingly, HTML Template Engine and XSLT Processor for generation of page. Thus, the application can be adjusted easily for use of this or that way of generation of page.
To additional features PHP_Application concern: multilanguage support; the ability to control access of object properties; multilevel access to the data of tabulared and tree-like type and many other things.
Enhancements:
- In the new version support of Aspect-Oriented programming is added;
- the rendering system is refactored;
- many new classes are added;
- new examples and the documentation are added;
- many bugs are corrected.

Image::MetaData::JPEG::Structures 0.15

Image::MetaData::JPEG::Structures 0.15

Image::MetaData::JPEG::Structures is a Perl module that describes the structure of a JPEG file. more>>
Image::MetaData::JPEG::Structures is a Perl module that describes the structure of a JPEG file; it is an appendix to the main manual page of the Image::MetaData::JPEG module, which the reader should refer to for further details and the general scope.

THE STRUCTURE OF JPEG PICTURES

The JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) ISO standard is a lossy image compression mechanism developed before 1990, designed for compressing colour or gray-scale photo-realistic images (it performs poorly on line-art drawings). The JPEG mechanism is designed to exploit known limitations of the human eye, in particular the fact that colour changes are perceived less accurately than changes in brightness.

Note that although the "baseline" JPEG format is patent-free, there are patents associated with some optional features, namely arithmetic coding and hierarchical storage. For this reason, these optional features are never used on the Web (good job, patent fans ...). JPEG refers only to a class of compression algorithms, not to a specific file format. In order to produce files with embedded JPEG streams, a number of file format (semi-)standards have been adapted or devised, some of which are listed in the format section. The structure of a well formed JPEG file can be described by the following pseudo production rules (for sake of simplicity, some additional constraints between tables and SOF segments are neglected).

JPEG --> (SOI)(misc)*(image)?(EOI)
(image) --> (hierarch.)|(non-hier.)
(hierarch.) --> (DHP)(frame)+
(frame) --> (misc)*(EXP)?(non-hier.)
(non-hier.) --> (SOF)(scan)+
(scan) --> (misc)*(SOS)(data)*(ECS)(DNL)?
(data) --> (ECS)(RST)
(misc) --> (DQT)|(DHT)|(DAC)|(DRI)|(COM)|(APP)

(SOI) = Start Of Image
(EOI) = End Of Image
(SOF) = Start Of Frame header (10 types)
(SOS) = Start Of Scan header
(ECS) = Entropy Coded Segment (row data, not a real segment)
(DNL) = Define Number of Lines segment
(DHP) = Define Hierarchical P??? segment
(EXP) = EXPansion segment
(RST) = ReSTart segment (8 types)
(DQT) = Define Quantisation Table
(DHT) = Define Huffman coding Table
(DAC) = Define Arithmetic coding Table
(DRI) = Define Restart Interval
(COM) = COMment segment
(APP) = APPlication segment

This package does not check that a JPEG file is really correct; it accepts a looser syntax, were segments and ECS blocks are just contiguous (basically, because it does not need to display the image!). All meta-data information is concentrated in the (COM*) and (APP) Segments, exception made for some records in the (SOF*) segment (e.g. image dimensions).

Linguistic Tree Constructor 2.7.1

Linguistic Tree Constructor 2.7.1

Linguistic Tree Constructor is a free program for building linguistic syntax trees from text. more>>
Linguistic Tree Constructor is a free program for building linguistic syntax trees from text. Linguistic Tree Constructor lets the user build the tree in a point-and-click fashion.
The program does no analysis on its own -- the user is completely free to draw the tree however he or she wishes. However, the program makes sure that the tree is a tree and not some other kind of graph.
Syntactic theories supported
Three "flavors" of trees are supported:
- "Generic" syntax trees,
- X-Bar syntax trees
- RRG (Role and Reference Grammar) syntax trees (the LSC and the LSNP)
Labeling of nodes
- The program supports adding "labels" to nodes. These labels are userdefinable, and can be used for such things as:
- Rhetorical Structure Theory analyses
- Other discourse-level analyses
- RRG operator-projection analyses
- Subject-Object-Predicate analyses
Main features:
- Draw syntax trees using point-and-click
- Both tree-view and brackets-view are supported
- Supports up to five interlinear lines at word-level
- Interlinear lines can be switched on and off individually
- Change magnification
- Unlimited undo
- Copy (parts of) tree to clipboard as BMP
- Printing + Print Preview
- Uses any font (even Unicode fonts)
- Supports right-to-left languages as well as left-to-right
- Import from straight text (plain text)
- Import from word-per-record SFM interlinear text
- ... and many more...
Enhancements:
- A number of crashes were fixed.
- A bug with magnification on OS X was fixed.
- The speed of interaction with the program was improved.
