OCSID 10.2
OCSID is a Slackware based distro with Gnome, like the good old Slackware used to have. more>>
OCSID is a Slackware based distro with Gnome, like the good old Slackware used to have.
First lets start with what OCSID is NOT:
- is not yet another linux distro;
- is not yet another fork;
- is not born to divide the Community;
- is not a closed development project.
So What OCSID really is?
- is a wrapper to contain official Slackware packages together with Community related efforts;
- is a Slackware based distro with Gnome, like the good old Slackware used to have;
- is an installation dvd so that you can install everything you want from the good old Slackware installer;
- is an open Community project and everyone is free to participate, the first goal is to unite Slackware Communitys efforts.
So OCSID is a dvd with all the Official Slackware packages untouched, with Freerock GNOME and some other packages that usually people want but arent included in Slackware (Amarok, Postfix, ecc.). Besides OCSID ships kernel 2.6.13 by default.
Not only you can install everything from the classic installer but also OCSID fully supports dependencies through slapt-get.
So that you can do it the debian way: install a minimum set of packages directly from the first Slackware CD, then install slapt-get and set OCSID as your main repository, finally you can get everything you need as in this example:
slapt-get --install kde
This way you can also upgrade your old Slackware system to OCSID with a single command.
Latest stable version of OCSID: 10.2 (Slackware 10.2, Freerock GNOME 2.12.1).

PCX Firewall 2.24
PCX Firewall is an IPTables firewalling solution. more>>
PCX Firewall is an IPTables firewalling solution that uses Perl to generate static shell scripts based upon the users configuration settings.
This allows the firewall to startup quickly, as it does not have to parse config files every time it starts.
Enhancements:
- All known bugs have been fixed. Support has been added for Debian Sarge and Red Hat FC[1-3] as "official" distributions to work with when generating init scripts. The ability has been added to just install the generated firewall script into /etc/init.d or /etc/pcx-firewall without starting it.

Soulfind 0.4.8
Soulfind is a free Soulseek server program. more>>
Soulfind is a Soulseek server implementation for Linux, though it can probably be compiled under Mac OS X, BSD or Windows as well (if you have tried to build Soulfind under another OS than Linux, Id like to know if it worked, and what happens if it didnt). This homepage is there to provide some information about it.
Theres also a new #slsk-gpl room on Freenode (irc.freenode.net), Ill try to be there as often as possible (but 50H/month dial-up sucks).
Soulfind is coded using the D programming language and released under the GNU General Public License.
It originally started with me being bored on a sunday afternoon, and coding a basic chat-only Soulseek server... since it was easier than what I had expected, I decided to go on and implement the full protocol.
The name just comes from people ranting about how their searches on the official server do not return enough results... indeed its name is only Soulseek, while this one is Soulfind.
The server supports the Nicotine, Museek and PySoulSeek clients (actually, all clients except the official Windows one should work). The Windows client also works to some extent, but you have to trick it to make it connect to another server on another port, and it also checks for an md5sum in the server answer, which this server doesnt send.
Enhancements:
- This release compiles with DMD 0.155, and supports the new server-handled room and buddy searches.
- Several minor bugs have been fixed, as well as a more important one about privileges (giving some privileges to another user did not add to his existing privileges, but replaced them).

JDuplicate project is a multiplayer word game suite supporting Scrabble and Duplicate.
It supports popular word games such as Duplicate and Scrabble.
JDuplicate Swing Client, commonly called JDSC, is the JDuplicate reference

from the ground up with ease of use in mind. JDSC is fully graphical and
features user friendly characteristics such as drag&dropping tiles, full sound
support and a click and play interface for game selection.
Like the rest of the JDuplicate "official" package, running JDSC will require

Original Disk Mount Applet 2.10.0

Original Disk Mount Applet is the original disk mount panel applet.
This is the same as the disk mounter included through GNOME 2.8. For GNOME 2.10 the official applet was rewritten, the new version adds the ability to autodetect mountable devices, but drops a significant (all) configurability.
It no longer allows you to choose which devices are displayed on the panel, their order, or icon representation.
Install this applet if you want to restore the old disk mounter behavior for GNOME 2.10.

Locale::Object::Language 0.75
Locale::Object::Language Perl module contains language information objects. more>>
Locale::Object::Language Perl module contains language information objects.
Locale::Object::Language allows you to create objects containing information about languages such as their ISO codes, the countries theyre used in and so on.
SYNOPSIS
use Locale::Object::Language;
my $eng = Locale::Object::Language->new( code_alpha3 => eng );
my $name = $eng->name;
my $code_alpha2 = $eng->code_alpha2;
my $code_alpha3 = $eng->code_alpha3;
my @countries = $eng->countries;
my $gb = Locale::Object::Country->new( code_alpha2 => gb );
print $eng->official($gb);
METHODS
new()
my $eng = Locale::Object::Language->new( code_alpha3 => eng );
The new method creates an object. It takes a single-item hash as an argument - valid options to pass are ISO 3166 values - code_alpha2, code_alpha3 and name (see Locale::Object::DB::Schemata for details on these).
The objects created are singletons; if you try and create a currency object when one matching your specification already exists, new() will return the original one.
name(), code_alpha2(), code_alpha3()
my $name = $country->name;
These methods retrieve the values of the attributes in the object whose name they share.
countries()
my @countries = $eng->countries;
Returns an array (in array context, otherwise a reference) of Locale::Object::Country objects with their ISO 3166 alpha2 codes as keys (see Locale::Object::DB::Schemata for more details on those) for all countries using this currency in array context, or a reference in scalar context. The objects have their own attribute methods, so you can do things like this for example:
foreach my $place (@countries)
{
print $place->name, "n";
}
Which will list you all the countries that use in that currency. See the documentation for Locale::Object::Country for a listing of country attributes. Note that you can chain methods as well.
foreach my $place (@countries)
{
print $place->continent->name, "n";
}
official()
my $gb = Locale::Object::Country->new( code_alpha2 => gb );
print $eng->official($gb); # prints true
Give this method a Locale::Object::Country object, and it will return a true or false value for whether the country the object represents has the language represented by your Locale::Object::Language object as an official language. See database.pod for a note about languages in the database.

nALFS 1.2.4
nALFS is an interactive Automated Linux From Scratch profile parser. more>>
Automated Linux From Scratch or ALFS, is a project that aims to create a generic framework of an extendable system builder and package installer using XML to describe the process.
Its goal is to automate the process of creating an LFS system. It seeks to make the process of building LFS easier and more efficient while still providing flexibility, granting the user total control and insight into the compilation and management of his LFS build.
The LFS and BLFS projects have selected the nALFS implementation as the "official" ALFS implementation. See below for more info.
Its been in production use for over a year now and is under active development. Take a look at the news page for status of the current stable version.
The LFS and BLFS projects official implementation is Neven Hass nALFS. Mark Ellis also has a perl implementation. Next to the official ALFS implementation, there are a number of more or less tested automated LFS build systems available in the section menu.

Furjournal is a Firefox extension to serve as a bridge between Firefox and the Furjournal blogging service. It provides a couple of helpful features to that end, such as autologin, technorati tagging, updates checking and speedy access to relevant pages, singularly and as a group.
This extension now has all the fixes and features I intended it to have and everything works as I expected it to. Therefore this should be considered as the final version until such a time when a new official Firefox version is released that requires another update.
