Visual Oberon is a GUI library written in Oberon2.
VisualOberon (or short VO) is a collection of classes written in the programming language Oberon-2. The classes are designed to let application developer easyliy build graphical user interfaces for rograms written in Oberon-2. _VO_ is distributed nder the GNU library icense.
VisualOberon is _not_ a programming language. While it sounds like he Oberon version of VisualBasic, it is not an integrated developement nvirinment with build in text editor, builder and that stuff. It is urrently just a library. Nevertheless it can be the basis for such integrated environment.
Enhancements:
- Some prototype of a controller class for mapping input to object functionality.
- Improved Edit control.
- Improved file open dialog.
- Menu navigation via keyboard.
- More usage of STRING.
- Improved drawing including support for offscreen drawing.
- Improved Curses version, now works also on black white terminals - but still not perfect.
- Improved image loading.
- Bugfixes, bugfixes, bugfixes.
- Improvement of VGD. Added more VGD handler.

deimos 1.3

deimos 1.3

deimos project consists of some platform independent libraries. more>>
deimos project consists of some platform independent libraries.

The deimos project provides some platform independent libraries which contain a reference memory allocator (garbage collector planned), virtual filesystem (Unix sockets, HTTP, etc), configfile management, and a clean build system (easy makefiles).

These libs are used by DDS (Digital Disco System - mp3 player), vmOberon (oberon virtual machine), and ODMS (open document management system).

deimos has some simpl programming principles:

- dont make the packages not too big. one package for each job.

- simplicity. clear interfaces. each package has an front- and an back-interface. better think twice before starting to program anything.

- high abstraction. i.e the core libs are the one and only stuff which has to care about system specifics.

currently these packages are available:

- core:

current implementations: linux + glibc (may work on other unices too, but not tested)

provides:
* simple and clear build system (have a look the makefiles)
* Memory Manager (reference counting, type checking, ...)
* Virtual Filesystem (currently supports: local unix, http)
* ConfigFile (manages config files, goes over the VFS)

- template

an very simple template for writing applications with the deimos make system.

- examples

some applications demonstrating how to use the deimos (mostly core).

- oberon

the oberon subsystem. provides an virtual machine an kernel modules

ZAngband 2.7.4c

ZAngband 2.7.4c

ZAngband project is a rogue-like roleplaying game. more>>
ZAngband project is a rogue-like roleplaying game.

The game of Zangband is a single player computer role playing game set in the world (although worlds might perhaps be more accurate) of Amber created by the author Roger Zelazny. Zangband is a variant of the game Angband which is descended from the game Moria which is in turn based upon the game Rogue (hence Zangbands classification as a roguelike game). Rogue was, perhaps, the first computer game to use the terminal screen graphically with ASCII characters representing the player, dungeon features, objects and monsters as opposed to the text adventures of its day.

In Zangband, a player may choose from a number of races, classes and magic realms when creating a character, and then "run" that character over a period of days, weeks, even months. Deep down inside, the real objective of the game is to increase your experience, and certain other characteristics, and also to collect useful items, to give you a decent chance against the great Serpent of Chaos, who lurks somewhere in the depths of the dungeon.

The player will begin his adventure on the town level where he may acquire supplies, weapons, armor, and magical devices by bartering with various shop owners. After preparing for his adventure, the player can descend into the dungeon where fantastic adventures await his coming!

Once your character has killed Oberon, who lives on level 99 (4950) in the dungeon, a magical staircase will appear that will finally allow you to reach level 100. The Serpent of Chaos lurks on this level of his dungeon, and you will not be able to go below his level until you have killed him. Try to avoid wandering around on level 100 unless you are ready for him, since it has a habit of coming at you across the dungeon, to slay you for your impudence.

If you should actually survive the attempt of killing the Serpent of Chaos, you will receive the status of WINNER. You may continue to explore, and may even save the game and play more later, but since you have defeated the toughest creature alive, there is really not much point. Unless you wish to listen to the rumors of a powerful ring buried somewhere in the dungeon...
