ChangeBlindness 1.0.1

ChangeBlindness 1.0.1

ChangeBlindness is a small game that demonstrates the change blindness phenomenon. more>>
ChangeBlindness project is a puzzle game that demonstrates the change blindness phenomenon.
The effect shows that our brains have low level change detection that is subconscious and that can be disabled pretty easily (for instance with a flicker).
Main features:
- Increasing difficulty levels
- Skinable
- The software was not developed with software engineering in mind, but still sports some nice features (Logging, Preference Store, Model/View-Separation, nsis-Installer-Skripts).
- High-Score

FrostWire 4.10.9 Beta

FrostWire 4.10.9 Beta

FrostWire is a Gnutella client according to the open standards of an international community. more>>
FrostWire is a community driven project based on source code released by LimeWire LLC to create and maintain a Gnutella client according to the open standards of an international community.

We are busy building a website and creating a new design for the FrostWire Gnutella client. Since LimeWire is a registered trademark we cannot distribute the client under its old name.

For that reason, we are looking for creative p2p fans that would like to create skins, design logos or websites. However we are also trying to get more people working on the Java core, the interface and the C++ windows installer (based on GnucDNA and NSIS). If you are interested in maintaining LimeWires legacy get involved!

We are trying to maintain good relations to the LimeWire project. The FrostWire team (all of whom are still members of the LimeWire open-source community) regrets LimeWires decision to start filtering content on Gnutella.

However, we will continue supporting LimeWire development and do not wish to make fundamental changes to the LimeWire core itself. FrostWire will not break with LimeWires design philosophy.

However the FrostWire project will never offer a PRO version. The FrostWire project will always remain strictly non-profit and free of any bundled software, including any ads or nags.

PeaZip 1.9

PeaZip 1.9

PeaZip is an archiving application, archive/extract: 001 (raw file split/join), 7z, 7zip sfx, Bzip2, Gzip, Pea, Tar, Z, Zip. more>>
PeaZip project is an archiver tool that supports its native Pea archive format (featuring compression, split volumes, and flexible encryption and integrity check schemes) and other mainstream formats, with special focus on handling open formats.
Full support: 7Z, 7-Zip sfx, Bzip2, Gzip, PEA, split TAR and ZIP.
Browse/test/extract-only support for ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, ISO, LZH, NSIS installers, OOo files, RAR, RPM, Z.
PeaZips UI aims giving aid to the user to: edit, save and restore layout of archives (input files and folders list) to speed up definition of archiving and backup operations; save job definition, as plain text, to be used in scripts or for learning purpose; have a detailed job log after each operation.
The interface is fully skinnable (skins can be customised and saved as plain text to be re-edited as freely as possible) and uses customisable transparency.
The program doesnt need to be installed/unistalled, it can run from any path (even remote; a writeable path is recommended), however Windows version is released both as a standalone binary and as a fully automated installer/uninstaller package, allowing tight system integration to use PeaZip right from Explorer.
PeaZip acts as a graphic frontend for Pea executable (graphical) from the same Author and for Igor Pavlovs 7z executable (Myspaces 7z POSIX port under Linux), that can run in console mode or through a graphical wrapper to allow more user-friendly handling of output information.
Enhancements:
- Release 1.9 introduces several updates, new functions and interface enhancements over 1.8 series, based on feedback collected on previous 1.8 release series, featuring a substantially renewed user interface driven to a cleaner design and better usability. The layout composer and the archive browser were improved, introducing multiple selection, AZ/ZA sorting, better designed popup menus, options organized in a tabs, archive browsing navigation bar, recent archives history and many other under the hood usability improvements; see change log for a detailed description.

Falling Up 004

Falling Up 004

Falling Up its another tetris clone. more>>
Falling Up its another tetris clone. No, Im not trying to make any money off of it or claim it as particularly unique. It is fun. Try it. Its evil. Im told that frequently.
People have even praised it. I wrote it as a precursor to other games, a way to learn new technologies (GLUT, OpenGL, OpenAL, NSIS, ...), and to brush up on old ones (c, for that matter).
The source code is essentially free to do with as you please, if you like. If you "steal" most of it, Id prefer you give credit back to here, but really... whatever. I learned from lots of places and anything I can do to pay that back is cool.
The game is... tetris. You have the same old blocks, and they fall down. You use left and right to move blocks left and right, up to rotate, down to move down a line, and spacebar to drop.
Theres a next item (optional), sound (optional), and... stuff like that. Please, just download it and play it already! Geeze! Youd think I was just rambling...
Enhancements:
- The score file was adding 1 to the "level" the score was attained at every time a new high score was made, give or take; that is fixed.
- I added a background image (doesnt work with trails, may slow down on slower systems), and made F4 quit out of playing the game.

LavaPE 0.8.4

LavaPE 0.8.4

LavaPE is a programming environment for the experimental object-oriented programming language Lava. more>>
LavaPE is a programming environment for the experimental object-oriented programming language Lava. It replaces text editing with structure editing, thereby preventing all syntactic and many semantic errors.
The pure point-and-click nature of Lava programming and the concise representation of programs as declaration trees with small chunks of executable code simplify programming, and ease comprehension.
The new Lava language attempts to combine the advantages of either, and also to propose solutions to a number of fundamental problems that are hard to solve and that have been more or less ignored therefore by other languages so far.
Clearly this cannot be achieved by essentially combining individual features of Java and Visual Basic and by adding further features. A completely new language had to be developed from scratch.
Lava attempts to overcome the "ancient" programming technology that is based on text editors and that requires detailed knowledge and meticulous observation of the syntactic rules of the respective language.
Structure editing has many advantages over text editing and has the potential to considerably increase the programmers productivity.
The conceptual framework of object-orientation can still be improved considerably in several respects:
- Interfaces and implementations should be strictly separated. (Remember Modula-2 and Ada!)
- Two categories of objects, state and value objects, should be distinguished.
- A unified view of object- and component-orientation should be provided.
- "Genericity" and design patterns should be supported properly.
- The necessity of "type-casts" should be overcome.
The general conceptual framework of programming languages calls for additional improvements:
- The data flow of programs can be clarified by "single-assignment" just as the control flow has been clarified by abandoning "go to".
- We need an application-level pointer notion to distinguish "constituents" and "acquaintances" of objects.
- "Embedded SQL" should be finally replaced by seamlessly integrated expressive means for database access,
- Multi-threading, transactions, and synchronization should be treated in a purely declarative way.
- Programming languages should become "organization-aware" and "security-aware".
Enhancements:
- We have completely rewritten the Lava "callback" support, roughly after the model of the "signal/slot" concept of TrollTechs Qt. This is a first step towards an extended Lava GUI builder that will support also mainframe windows, menus, toolbars and callbacks.
- Lava is more portable now. It can be built on the Windows XP, Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris (sparc station and x86, g++), and Mac OS X.2 platforms. It has been tested, so far, on Windows XP, Linux and FreeBSD. Please tell us if it runs also on the other platforms (and also if not).
- You can now benefit from "precompiled headers" if you use the g++ compiler (g++ release 3.4 or higher).
- For the Windows platform we have migrated to the NullSoft Install System (NSIS).
- We have added a method "zombifyRec" (zombify recursively) to class "Object" as a further aid for deactivating whole collections of objects containing circular forward references.
