Looking Glass is a project that allows creating an innovative 3D desktop environment for Linux. It is sponsored by Sun Microsystems.

Looking Glass is programmed in the Java language using the Java 3D system to remain platform independent. Despite the use of graphics acceleration features, the desktop explores the use of 3D windowing capabilities for both existing application programs and ones specifically designed for Looking Glass.

The project is still in early development. The prototype is now working on Suns Java Desktop System.[citation needed]

One of its most notable features is the creation of reversible windows. This capability can be used for features like allowing the user to write notes and comments on the windows backs, or displaying application dialogs without risking them being detached from the application they relate to.

All windows start by looking like a normal 2D or 2.5D window, but can be manipulated as thin slate-like 3D objects which can be set at any angle or turned completely around by the user.

Other features include provision of a panning virtual desktop, icons that reflect the live status of the window they represent and zooming of a window when it receives focus.

Java Neural Network Trainer is a neural network trainer with the ability to easily add new training algorithms and training patterns.

Java Neural Network Trainer project includes a parallel training graphical interface where you can view each trainer working in real-time in parallel.

Opennap NG project is a Napster-like sever based on Opennap.
It offers more security features, bugfixes, WinMX abuse tracking/penalizing, and new features.

Major bug fixes
- Ghosts are fixed properly. Ticket #5
- The older of the two users is expired, the newer one is resynced across the network as if the user has just logged into the network. No users are killed, easier on the users and the servers.
- Ghost kill timer
- New configuration variable to delay ghosts from logging back in so they do not bounce between servers.
- Server crash when linking a server with an invalid_nick already online. Ticket #3
- A nasty crash involving linking a server with an invalid_nick online has been fixed.
- Tag 10018, server encapsulated, has been fixed. Ticket #27
- Previously it would broadcast to the entire network, now it only sends the data to the server the intended recipient is located on. Incredible bandwidth reduction.

- Memory usage in stats works for Linux, FreeBSD, and Win32 now. Also included are load averages, swapped ram, etc.
Minor bug fixes
- Search on Linux now works perfectly. Ticket #8, #21
- Searching on Linux was globbing the first character of search strings, and some older GCC versions hosed up network searches.
- Debug now compiles/works
- Debug has been broken for a while, its now working again.
- Increased BUFFER_LENGTH to 16k
- Increased buffer length improves memory return on *nix when previously no memory could be returned to the system.

- Some backwards bans were due to matching invalid_nick, the checking is better now.
- Conversion of wasteful types.
- Where it made sense, variable types were changed from int to bool to save ram.
New enhancements
- Extended statistics port
- A new port has been added that gives LOTS of information out for tracking server/network status in a program like Cacti. More on this to come, well soon provide templates and information to set this up yourself, as well as example output.
- Operserv control over log_level
- A new Operserv command, loglevel, allows easy adjustment of log levels, such as "loglevel all -debug", "loglevel +debug", etc.
- Expanded whois information. Ticket #15
- Shows friend, muzzled, and or criminal status. It shows every status of a current user, such as FRIEND MUZZLED.

Current known bugs
- Ghost-synced users sometimes still out of sync. Ticket #30*
- Sometimes lagged users, or users on lagged servers, when they ghost their server hash entry gets mixed. Happens very seldom, perhaps one an hour. Currently worked-around by killing the offending user.
- Other bugs being worked on for 0.49. Current open bugs.

Dummy plugin is an xmms plugin that helps newbee vis plugin coders with the needed funcions for xmms vis plugins.

Dummy plugin only has the needed functions and a working audio renderer.

Wine-doors is an application designed to assist users in obtaining, installing, uninstalling and working around the caveats associated with wine applications.

Although wine doors is intended to be a replacement for winetools it is not limited to release cycles for the applications available to install, instead a web service will be provided, this web service will serve XML Pack Lists and Application Packs as well as various other resources.

Using a web service to connect users to applications means the service can be community managed thus splitting application installation and configuration from the user interface used to install the applications.

mod_diagnostics is a debugging and diagnostic tool for application developers - particularly filter modules.

mod_diagnostics.c can be inserted anywhere in the Apache filter chain, and logs traffic (buckets and brigades) passing through.

It is a purely passive watcher, and will never touch the traffic passing through.

Strange delays in some browsers

In an update to mod_xml, a new bug was introduced. It was not immediately obvious, but in some browsers the request would hang and then timeout. The effect was only observed when using the XSLT output filter with Xalan-C, and only happened with HTTP/1.1 browser, not with HTTP/1.0. Furthermore, hitting "cancel" before the timeout in an HTTP/1.1 browser would cause the page to display!
Inserting mod_diagnostics before and after the offending filter, the bug was immediately obvious. The module was simply failing to pass an EOS bucket down the chain. A trivial fix!

Obscure bug in a third-party library

A user of mod_proxy_html reported serious performance problems when parsing an 8Mb HTML file. He had profiled the problem, and found the entire processing time was in the final call to htmlParseChunk in libxml2.

I investigated this by inserting mod_diagnostics before and after mod_proxy_html, and running it with the largest HTML document I had available (the MySQL manual, about 2.6Mb). I was able to confirm that nothing was passed down the chain until the final call, so not only was it slow, but it had also broken Apache pipelining.

To refine the diagnosis, I added a flush in each call to the filter in mod_proxy_html. Now mod_diagnostics showed a small amount of data (under 1Kb) coming through in the first call to the filter, but nothing else until the end. Further investigation showed that the data stopped coming when the first HTML comment was encountered in the source.

At this point I ran it under gdb, looking for the comment handling. I found that it was failing to find the end of the comment. The problem was resolved only in the last call to htmlParseChunk, which didnt go through the buggy code. I disabled the buggy code, and found it was now working correctly, with approximately the same amount of input and output data in each call to the mod_proxy_html filter - so pipelining was now fixed. My correspondent reported total processing Time for his 8Mb file reduced from 30 minutes to 9 seconds (on five-year-old hardware).

The bug was reported to the libxml team, who have now fixed it.

Ankur is working toward supporting Bangla(Bengali) language on GNU/Linux operating system. However, most of our projects are focused on XFree86.orgs XServer. Some of our projects are in fact platform independent and adds supports of other operating systems.

We are working on providing Bangla support for some major XServer applications such as office suites, database, development tools and desktop environments like GNOME, KDE.

Our intention is to help develop and maintain open source/free software targeted towards the Bangla speaking users.
