Randomize Lines (rl) is a command-line tool that reads lines from an input file or stdin, randomizes the lines and outputs a specified number of lines. It does this with only a single pass over the input while trying to use as little memory as possible.
I wrote rl in my spare time mainly to be able to select a random audio file to play when my toast is done (script in combination with find and sleep). Another reason was to familiarize myself with autoconf and friends.

Warning: rl is software in development. The command line options and default behavior may change between releases.
Another Warning: I have mostly lost interest in this project and am not planning on doing much development on it any more. I will however still accept patches and fix important bugs (this more or less contradicts the previous warning).

XCruiser project is a filesystem vizualization utility for X.
XCruiser (formerly known as XCruise) is a filesystem visualization utility which compares a filesystem to a 3D-formed universe and allows you to "cruise" within it.
It constructs a universe from directory trees, and you can navigate with a mouse.
Enhancements:
- The code was rewritten almost entirely.
New features:
- Xt is supported.
- Easy customization of button bindings / colors / accelaration.
- Keyboard support (but inconvenient).
- A new rendering algorithm. (still incomplete!)
- Monochrome mode is dismissed.

Information Currency Subversion project is a command-line client for Subversion repositories that supports the generation of information currency from committed source code.

GIMP User Manual project is a user manual for the GIMP. It is written for the GIMP Help Browser, but can produce help pages for other formats as well.
Enhancements:
- New content (incl. spelling and grammar fixes) for German, French, Italian, Norwegian, Russian, Spanish and Korean
- The PDF version of the manual is now generated using dblatex
- Lots of bug fixes

webCDwriter can be used to make the CD- and DVD-writer(s) connected to a Linux box available to all users in your network.
It consists of the server CDWserver and the clients webCDcreator and rcdrecord. CDWserver stores the files transmitted by the clients, reserves the CD-writer and controls the CD-writer using cdrecord.
webCDcreator is a Java applet that runs within your browser or by Java Web Start, assists you when putting together a CD, and transmits the files. Finally rcdrecord is a command line client that tries to offer the functionality of cdrecord over the network with full multi-user support.
Main features:

Command Line calculator "CLC" is the calculator that can calculate direct at the Linux console.

Extract the CLCC file to /usr/bin you might need to login as root or equvalent account, to be able to access it whenever you need it.

Then just write CLCC 67+89 and the answer will be presented to you directly.

CLCC calculates from left to right with no exceptions. CLC also have some extra parameters that is sent to CLC using backslash parameters.

CLCC r2 10/3 this will round the result to 2 decimals you can use 1 to 9 if you want to round the sum of.

the r parameter can also be combined with the other parameters but it must be added first like this

CLCC r3c 10/3 - to get 10 diveded with 3 rounded down to 3 decimals.

CLCC is tested with Ubuntu 6.10 and Puppy OS 2.13 but should work with any Linux version in console mode.

The program is developed using Hotbasic for Linux and is Freeware, hope you find it useful, send and email if you have any questions.

Hotbasic is a basic language that compiles into assembler direct, no interpeter that slows down the code, just pure assembler.

So if you want assembler in Linux but doesnt want to code in nasm, HotBasic is the compiler for you.

NS WebMail project is a simple set of PERL scripts, it works using module Mail::POP3Client, and allows to send and receive MIME compliant mails.
The whole thing is "secured" using POP3 authentication, ie mail cant be send or retrieved without initial correct authentication.APOP and standard PASS authentication work.
No need of any SQL base and so on. However, better know how PERL and CGIs work ! This allows NSWM to remain simple and light, and not to require an important set of PERL modules.
NSWM now support two kinda security improvments:
- HTTP Auth: just configure your Apache to authenticate user with normal HTTP Auth. Then you
need to use indexauth.pl instead of index.html as a start page, and run NSWM in mod_perl.
It works automatically.
- Cookie stored key: the key used to encrypt the password may be stocked partially in a cookie.
This prevents bad guys from accessing other users inboxes when they used shared computers.
You have to enable this feature in the configwm.pm file, at "cookiedomain": enter your
domain to enable the feature, comment the line out to disable.
Both security features will work over HTTPS.

This way we can improve NSWM.
installation
1- Unzip it:
On performant UNIX (with recent gnu tar), do a tar xvzf nswm-XXXXXX.tar.gz
On Windows, use Winzip or PowerArchiver (http://www.powerarchiver.com)
2- Set up your favorite HTTP server to handle the application.
For Apache:
=> put an Alias section as /nswm for the nswm/html directory
=> put a ScriptAlias section as /nswm/cgi-bin for the nswm/cgi-bin directory
For IIS,NES:
Use the graphic interface to set it up properly. Refer to server documentation.
3- Then you have to edit configwm.pm file and specify your SMTP server ($SMTPserver variable).
Words and paths can be set up in config.pl file.
You can also choose the language.
Nota: configwm.pm template is configwm.pm.dist.
4- PERL Modules to install if not installed:
Dont forget to install them (example with Mail::POP3Client):
=> perl -MCPAN -e install Mail::POP3Client on UNIX (or see at http://www.cpan.org)
or ppm Mail-POP3Client on WNTs ActivePerl (but better see at http://www.activetsate.com)
The following modules/packages are needed:
IO-stringy,MIME-Base64,MIME-Lite,MIME-tools,MailTools,Mail::POP3Client,TimeDate,URI,CGI
(yeah, thats a lot, i know. MIME encoding/decoding isnt a simple thing...)
5- Misc install things:
Dont forget to chmod 777 (or, better, chown apache or nobody or www-data) the /var/opt/nswm/log and
/var/opt/nswm/tmp directories if you dont change those locations in the configwm.pm file.
You can do a small cron script to launch bin/nswmcron to enable the automatic cleanup of temp files (This is automatically done by the RPM). Dont forget to change the html/title.htm file....
Enhancements:
- Several improvements in mail header decoding in the inbox.
- Optional ability to report spam to spam software (tested and documented with SpamAssassin).
- Full management of the "Urgent header".
