Nonpareil 0.78
Nonpareil is a calculator microassembler and simulator. more>>
Nonpareil is a microassembler and simulator package for the calculators. It currently supports the HP Classic and Woodstock series. Nonpareil is written in C and uses the GTK+ toolkit.
The Classic series of HP handheld calculators included the following models:
- HP-35 Scientific (Electronic Slide Rule)
- HP-80 Financial
- HP-45 Advanced Scientific
- HP-65 Card Programmable Scientific
- HP-70 Business
- HP-55 Programmable Scientific
The HP-67 is considered by many people to be part of the Classic series since it is packaged similarly to the HP-65, but electrically it is really a Woodstock series machine.
The classic series chip set was also used in the HP-46 and HP-81, which were desktop printing versions of the HP-45 and HP-80, respectively, and the HP 9805A desktop calculator. The same chip set was also used in the HP 1722A Oscilliscope, the HP 3380A Integrator (for Gas Chromatography), and in several HP Gas Chromatographs.
The Woodstock series of HP handheld calculators included the following models:
- HP-21 Scientific
- HP-22 Financial
- HP-25 Programmable Scientific
- HP-25C Programmable Scientific with continuous memory
- HP-27 Scientific and Financial
- HP-29C Programmable Scientific with continuous memory
The code name "Woodstock" referred both to the Woodstock series of calculators, and to the processor architecture use in them. The same processor architecture was also used in the Topcat, Sting, and Spice series, and the HP-67.
Enhancements:
- Build problems that occurred with certain versions of Bison were fixed.
- The need for an X server during the build process was eliminated.

Voxpak 0.78
Voxpak is a gui for playing, recording, editing, renaming etc. voice and fax messages. more>>
Voxpak is a gui for playing, recording, editing, renaming etc. voice and fax messages. Includes scripts for popping up sticky-notes or requesters with caller id info. Renames voice/fax messages to date+callerid. Written in python and pyGTK. It includes a small Kaptain version for KDE.
Voxpak is a pyGTK gui which uses the tools included with the Vgetty distribution to convert phone messages into a form usable by your favourite sound player and editor. I use Xmms as the player and baudline as an editor, and yes, baudline is over-kill :-), but it does allow you to speed up or slow down the speed of messages while maintaining a constant pitch. You could use Gnoise or even just the play command, whatever you like.
Since Voxpak is written using pyGTK you will need to have that installed. I think pyGTK is pretty much a standard for most distributions of Linux, so you probably already have it. If you prefer the KDE look, Ive included a small script written for Kaptain in the downloads section. Kaptains rpm only weighs in at about 500K and its a tremendously useful tool for you to have around anyway.
Presently only the Kaptain version contains the means for recording. If I get enough feed-back, Ill re-write it for pyGTK.
Enhancements:
- prefs will now save properly again
- corrected ref to self.FAXEDITOR line 730: Reiner Mantik
- fax files converted to pbm for editing: Reiner Mantik
- kfax output redirected to /dev/null
- removed dependance on gdialog
- removed dependance on gless

netacct-mysql 0.78
Netacct-mysql is modified version of traffic accounting daemon net-acct which stores collected data in MySQL. more>>
Netacct-mysql is modified version of traffic accounting daemon net-acct which stores collected data in MySQL. It supports writing accounting information in a single line in MySQL per day for every IP (mrta style).
Netacct functions by analogy with sniffer, i.e. it keeps track of all the traffic passing through the network interfaces assigned by the configuration file. Data are stored in the memory and periodically saved in the database. The default data save period is 300 seconds (see option "flush" in the config file).
The application is used for accounting of the network traffic passed through your router/gateway. It is based on the libpcap library and functions as a userspace daemon. Options for dividing the network traffic into 4 categories:
- international
- peering
- direct
- local
The traffic accounts are saved in a database, and for the time being MySQL and Oracle are supported. As libpcap is used for gathering the network data the application runs (for the moment) on the following operating systems:
- Linux
- FreeBSD
- OpenBSD
- Solaris
For more detailed information regarding a particular OS, please read the FAQ file.
Enhancements:
- netacct.h:
- process.c:
- naccttab.sample:
- fixed disable fields in config file, now it works does not write some fields in dump file - fixed

GNU CD Input and Control Library 0.78.2
The GNU Compact Disc Input and Control library encapsulates CD-ROM reading and control for applications wishing to be oblivious. more>>
GNU CD Input and Control Library (libcdio) encapsulates CD-ROM reading and control. The libcdio package contains a library which encapsulates CD-ROM reading and control. Applications wishing to be oblivious of the OS- and device-dependent properties of a CD-ROM can use this library.
Some support for on-disk CD-image types like CDRWINs BIN/CUE format, cdrdaos TOC format, and Neros NRG format is available. Therefore, applications that use this library also have the ability to read on-disk CD images as though they were CDs.
A library for working with ISO-9660 filesystems (libiso9660) is included. A generic interface for issuing MMC (multimedia commands) is also part of the libcdio library.
The cdparanoia library and cdparanoia command are included making this the only single-source cdparanoia that works on FreeBSD, cygwin, Solaris, BSDI as well as GNU/Linux.
Some uses of the library:
- Video CD authoring and ripping tools VCDImager
- VCD and/or CD-DA plugins for media players:
xine
videolans vlc.
gmerlin.
mplayerxp.
- kiso, a KDE GUI for creating, extracting and editing ISO 9660 images
- a Samba vfs module that that allows exporting a CD without mounting it
Utility programs in the libcdio package are:
cd-info
a program which displays CD information: number of tracks, CD-format and if possible basic information about the format. If libcddb is available, the cd-info program will display CDDB matches on CD-DA discs. And if a new enough version of libvcdinfo is available (from the vcdimager project), then cd-info shows basic VCD information.
cd-drive
a program which decribes CD-ROM/DVD drive characteristics
cd-paranoia
a program for extracting audio from a CD in a jitter- and error-tolerant way.
cd-read
a program for performing low-level block reading of a CD or CD image
cdda-player
a curses program using the audio controls to play a CD-DA through the audio output port.
iso-info
a program for displaying ISO-9660 information from an ISO-9660 image
iso-read
a program for extracting files from an ISO-9660 image.
Enhancements:
- A minor compilation problem was fixed.

ID3 mass tagger 0.78
ID3 mass tagger is a portable command-line mass tagger for audio files. more>>
ID3 mass tagger is a portable command-line mass tagger for audio files.
ID3 mass tagger is designed for non-interactively adding, updating or removing meta-information in a number of files with a single command.
It can generate tag fields from the filename and rename files using an intuitive syntax. It currently supports ID3 (1.1) and ID3v2 (2.0, 3.0) tags.
Exemple:
Here are some examples of using id3:
id3 -a "Stallman" -t "Free Software Song" fs_song.mp3"
Add a simple tag to a file.
id3 -d *.mp3
Removes all ID3v1 tags from all mp3s
id3 -g "psych rock" *.mp3
Sets genre to "Psychedelic Rock" all mp3s
id3 -2 -1 -u "*.mp3"
Copy ID3v2 tag to ID3v1 tag in all files.
id3 -a "TAFKAT" -n "%1" -t "%+2" "*. *.mp3"
Update tag fields similar to this;
id3 -a "TAFKAT" -n "01" -t "My Song" "01. my_song.mp3"
id3 -a "TAFKAT" -n "02" -t "Untitled" "02. untitled.mp3"
id3 -2 -f "%a - %t.mp3" blaet.mp3
Rename file to a standard "Artist - Title" format, using ID3v2 values.
id3 -g "alt rock" -a "The Author" -l %1 -n %2 -t %3 "Author - */(*) *.mp3"
Process multiple directories at once.
id3 -g "alt rock" -a "The Author" -m "Author - %l/(%n) %t.mp3"
Shorthand for the previous example.
id3 -a %t -t %a "*.mp3"
Swap artist and title fields in all mp3s.
id3 -D source.mp3 -1 -2 dest.mp3
Copy ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags of source.mp3 to dest.mp3
id3 -D source.mp3 -1u -2u dest.mp3
As above, but only replaces the non-standard or blank fields in dest.mp3 by data from source.mp3.
id3 -2 -rAPIC -s 0 *.mp3
Removes embedded images and padding from all mp3s.
id3 -2 -rAPIC -s 0 -R "*.mp3" "/my documents"
As above, but works recursively on all mp3s in the directory tree starting at /my documents
id3 -2 -q "%| %a - %|Untitled|t || %t || %1 |?" "*.mp3"
Generate a playlist, using the best possible text
id3 -2 -c "Was: %_f" -f "%a - %|Untitled (%#x)|t.mp3" "*.mp3"
Advanced rename. Saves previous filename in the comment field, and renames files without proper tags to;
Unknown - Untitled (01).mp3
Unknown - Untitled (02).mp3
... etc
Enhancements:
- This release adds support for Lyrics3 tags.
