Ubuntu Multimedia Center is a complete Linux-based operating system, freely available with community and professional support. Ubuntu Multimedia Center is developed by Zach Thibeau but I want you to participate too!

WARNING! Users in countries that dont allow use of mp3 playback or DVD playback are advised to remain using the regular release of Ubuntu.

Gnome Multimedia Keys is an Amarok script that will allow the use of keyboard multimedia keys in Gnome 2.18 and above (eg. ubuntu feisty) to control playback. This includes most multimedia buttons found on many laptops. Support for this was broken due to changes in the handling of keyboard shortcuts by gnome 2.18.
Currently supported operations are:
- Play/Pause
- Pause
- Stop
- Next Track
- Previous Track
Simply run the script, no configuration of the script itself is required. The desired keyboard shortcuts can be configured by selecting "System-->Prefrences-->Keyboard Shortcuts" from the Gnome panel.

LiMP is a a tiny LIVE CD based linux distro, that loads into memory and works only in the memory. This is the easiest, simpler yet powerful distro that works in all computers (PIII onwards).
Linux Multimedia Player supports most of the known formats, let it be mpeg-I, or mpeg-II, or divx, or wmv,qt-mov,real video for video and for audio mp3,wav,wma, ogg, real audio. It has the auto detection of partitions (ide or sata or scsi), sound cards,video cards, network cards and supports all the the cards as of kernel 2.6.13. It identifies the Partitions and mounts in the folder START.
It has the network support, which can be configured inside the GUI. It also mounts the Windows Shares, Linux Smb shares in the folder START.
It is complete tiny OS, with menu driven option and requires no knowledge of linux. All in a embedded image file of size 35 MB that gives you the entertainment. It can be easily integrated into WINDOWS XP/2000/98/95 or in linux boot loader or boot from cdrom.
LiMP distro runs only from memory and so CDROM/DVD is free to use. LiMP is completely safe to use as it mounts the partitions (NTFS, EXT2, EXT3, REISERFS) and windows / linux shares in READONLY mode.

Audio Format Converter is a an Amarok script that allows you to convert the audio format of the tracks in the playlist. The script takes a snapshot of the current playlist. Once the conversion has started, you can go back to using amaroK normally.

Supported files for both input and output include .flac, .ogg, .mp3, .mpc, .m4a, and .wav. Additionally, .wma, .ra, and are supported for input. (See below for the required packages.)

I dont know how to do anything with metatags from .wma or .ra. All I know is tags will get transferred to the output file if and only if the tags show up in the amaroK playlist. If they arent there, I suggest converting the files, then using a real tag editor like Easy Tag to put them in to the converted files.

This has only been tested on amaroK 1.2.4, but it should work on any amaroK>=1.2

The original files are NOT deleted. If the output file will overwrite an existing file, a dialog will appear to ask you whether to go ahead and overwrite or to skip the track. If you try to convert a file into the format its already in, a dialog will ask you how to handle this situation.

Depending on the number of tracks and the speed of your computer, this can take a long time to run. With each track, a passive popup will let you know what track its processing. At any time, you can stop the script by clicking stop in the amaroK script GUI.

Gecko Multimedia System is a complete media solution, able to play almost all media types and supports scheduled tv-recording from online tv-guides.

It is intended to replace your VCR, DVD, MP3- and CD-player into one single software-unit. It is mainly for use in Linux-systems (well, its the only system Ive tried it on).

Please note that Gecko requires VRD to be able to record television. VRD is not yet 100% functional.

PSP Video Converter project is a simple graphical frontend to ffmpeg to allow you to easily convert your videos to PSP compatibile format. Works for me, thought I may share.

Note: Created with Kommander 1.3, not sure if it works with earlier Kommander.

Note: There is no error checking for now, so make sure you have a working ffmpeg with necessary codecs installed.

Note: Looks like some PSPs cant open h264 videos encoded with ffmpeg.

Java Units Generator and Converter (JUGC) is a Java tool and library for converting between measuring units.
It makes it possible to define units, their relationships and translations in files, to generate code from those definitions and deploy the generated code as a library in a Java project.
The generated code can then be used to convert values from one unit to another.

- This initial version does the basic conversions using double precision floating point.
