Just getting this project off the ground. Im hoping to create a simple and easy-to-use xmame front-end that is not just another mame32 clone.

This project is aimed at casual gamers like myself that just want to play classic arcade games on their desktop.

ircbase 0.7

ircbase 0.7

Ircbase is a daemon (ircbase) that runs on a Unix server and performs actual IRC client operations. more>>
First, there is a daemon (ircbase) that runs on a Unix server and performs actual IRC client operations. It listens on an assigned TCP port for connections from the actual user, which will run another program. This other program (irc.exe for now) can run on Windows, and prThere is now limited support for connecting with conventional IRC clients.Povides graphical user interaction to the features contained in ircbase.
There is now limited support for connecting with another IRC clients. Such a solution will not be able to take full advantage of the features in ircbase, and is also currently rather flakey and ad hoc, but its provided anyway for people that want it while they wait for the native clients to be usable enough. When you do this, ircbase will behave like an advanced autonomous detachable ircbouncer.
Set up your IRC client to connect to the ircbase like it was an IRC server. The nick you setup in the client will map to ircbase session ID, and ircbase will connect to the actual IRC server with the session parameters (including nick) from the configuration file. It will then do some tricks to convince the IRC client of the actual nick in use after connecting/attaching, to avoid confusing it.
(The nick is used to select session ID rather than anything else in order to make it easy to use with ircII, which can specify the nick on the command line or in the /server and /window server commands.)
If you need to issue a command for interpretation by the ircbase parser, you can prefix it with /QUOTE I, e.g. for accepting a DCC on the ircbase end, use /QUOTE I /dcc get nick
and for changing servers, /QUOTE I /server irc.server
Main features:
- The above structure has the advantages that you can run ircbase on a shell account (warning, advertisement: Arctic Net can provide these) idling permanently on the IRC server very much like a bot, and yet, the user can, whenever he comes online, and from wherever he is, connect to it and use it for IRC-ing like any other IRC client.
-
- The ircbase keeps track of the most recent events, so when he does this, he will automatically receive its "scrollback buffer", so he can quickly catch up with what has happened just before he arrived. This is also an advantage if his modem is unstable and often drops the connection, since this way he wont miss anything, no matter how thoroughly the user machine itself crashes (provided he comes online again before the buffer is completely flushed, of course, but this buffer can be arbitrarily sized).
-
- Since ircbase allows scripts to run unattended at all times, it is meant to be able to replace any dedicated bots. Bots are a menace to the net, with their use of resources better spent on human clients, and the net would do so much better without them. With this system, even the most diehard childish moronic obnoxious bot-lover can do without them, simply because our design is superior, when completed.
-
- A system for interconnecting ircbases into an op-net (to replace the traditional bot-net) is also planned.
Enhancements:
- Finally gave a license to ircbase (irccli is still undecided, though).
- Finally ircbase is now under the GNU General Public License, version 2.

GPL Arcade Volleyball 0.9.0

GPL Arcade Volleyball 0.9.0

GPL Arcade Volleyball is an SDL remake of the old dos game Arcade Volleyball for several platforms. more>>
GPL Arcade Volleyball is an SDL remake of the old dos game Arcade Volleyball for several platforms (currently Linux, Windows, BeOS and Mac OS X are supported).

So far it is playable already, but we are planning on introducing several extra features with respect to the original game, while still preserving its sheer addictiveness! So far we already added:

- themes support
- networking game
- more than 2 players games
- several configuration options

Why AV?

It is fun. Play it for awhile: it is simple, fast, it just catches on. Its silly -- yes -- but try and play it with friends. It takes 5 seconds to figure out how to play, and the funky physics somehow just appeals. You could see it as a party game; say youre throwing a party, youd have that sort of game in the middle of several drinks, projected on a large screen, to have people have fun, engage in tournaments and laugh all through the game. Just as youd have with, say, pong. You wouldnt play Warcraft or Flight Simulator in those situations, or would you. Even for a nerds party were talking about.

Epona 1.5 RC1

Epona 1.5 RC1

Epona is a set of services for IRC networks that allows users to manage their nicks and channels in a secure and efficient way more>>
Epona is a set of services for IRC networks that allows users to manage their nicks and channels in a secure and efficient way, and administrators to manage their network with powerful tools.
Currently available services are:
NickServ : a powerful nickname manager that users can use to protect themselves against nick stealing. Each user has his own nickname group, that allows him to register as many nicks as he needs while still being able to take profit of his privileges and to modify his nick configuration.
ChanServ : a powerful channel manager that helps users to administer their channels in a totally customizable way. ChanServ has an internal list of privilegied users and banned users and controls accesses on a per-channel basis. It eliminates all takeover problems, because of its powerful op/unban/invite and even mass deop and mass kick functions.
MemoServ : an helpful tool that allows sending short messages to offline users, that they can then read later when they come online.
BotServ : an original service that allows users to get a permanent, friendly bot on their channels in an easy way. Each bot can be configured to monitor the channels against floods, repetitions, caps writing, swear, and take appropriate actions. It also can handle user-friendly commands (!op, !voice, !kick, etc.).
OperServ : the IRCops and IRC admins black box, that allows them to manage the list of network bans (also known as AKILL (DALnet) or GLINE (Unreal)), to configure messages displayed to users when they log on, to set modes and to kick users from any channel, to send notices quickly to the entire network, and much more!
Epona works with :
DreamForge : 4.6.7
Bahamut : 1.4.36 and later, including 1.8
UnrealIRCd : 3.2
UltimateIRCd : 2.8.x
Enhancements:
- Support for MySQL databases has been added.
