Spam Trainer project makes it easier for GNOME users to train spam filtering software (e.g. SpamBayes or SpamAssassin) that "learns" how to tell the difference between real email (ham) and unsolicited messages (spam).

Not all email clients have spam filtering (and training) built in, and training external filtering programs can be fiddly.

Spam Trainer was written to provide easy (drag and drop) training from the Evolution mail client, and should work just as well with any email client that supports the drag and drop protocol implemented by the GTK+ toolkit.

gtrainer is a simple tool for manage sports trainings.

You can save these records locally (sqlite3) or remotely (PostgreSQL, MySQL soon). You will know exactly how your training goes, with different kinds of charts and monthly reports, in order to improve your results or just as a curiosity.

Damn Vulnerable Linux (DVL) is a Linux-based (modified Damn Small Linux) tool for IT-Security & IT-Anti-Security and Attack & Defense. Damn Vulnerable Linux was initiated for training tasks during university lessons by the IITAC (International Institute for Training, Assessment, and Certification).
Damn Vulnerable Linux (DVL) is highly integrated into the community project crackmes.de (http://www.crackmes.de) and is frequently updated with new community provided lessons. Additional it includes a fullscaled lesson based environment for Attack & Defense on/for IT systems for self-study or teaching activities during university lectures. Its a Live Linux Distro, which means it runs from a bootable CD in memory without changing the native operating system of the host computer.
As well it can be run within virtual machine environments, such as qemu or vmware. There is no need to install a virtual machine if you use the embedded option. Its sole purpose in life is to put as many security tools at your disposal with as much training options as it can. It contains a huge ammount of lessons including lesson description - and solutions if the level has been solved by a community member at crackmes.de.
Damn Vulnerable Linux (DVL) is meant to be used by both novice and professional security personnel but is not ideal for the Linux uninitiated. Damn Vulnerable Linux (DVL) assumes you know the basics of Linux as most of your work will be done from the command line. If you are completely new to Linux, its best you stop playing with this system.

For readability, LTU.pm exports three scalar constants: $LTU_PLUS (+1), $LTU_MINUS (-1) and $LTU_THRESHOLD (0).

Statistics::LTU defines methods for creating, destroying, training and testing Linear Threshold Units. A linear threshold unit is a 1-layer neural network, also called a perceptron. LTUs are used to learn classifications from examples.
An LTU learns to distinguish between two classes based on the data given to it. After training on a number of examples, the LTU can then be used to classify new (unseen) examples. Technically, LTUs learn to distinguish two classes by fitting a hyperplane between examples; if the examples have n features, the hyperplane will have n dimensions. In general, the LTUs weights will converge to a define the separating hyperplane.

The LTU.pm file defines an uninstantiable base class, LTU, and four other instantiable classes built on top of LTU. The four individual classes differs in the training rules used:

ACR - Absolute Correction Rule
TACR - Thermal Absolute Correction Rule (thermal annealing)
LMS - Least Mean Squares rule
RLS - Recursive Least Squares rule

Each of these training rules behaves somewhat differently. Exact details of how these work are beyond the scope of this document; see the additional documentation file (ltu.doc) for discussion.

Keen little rabbit ears is a simple ear training program for Linux and Windows. It is free of charge. You can exercise the recogniton of intervalls, chords, scales and chord progressions.
Keen little rabbit ears requires the installation of Perl (Version 5), Perl/Tk, Perl::MIDI and an extermal MIDI player, like timidity (Verion 0.2i). Keen little rabbit ears is written in perl, uses Perl/Tk for the user interface, Perl::MIDI to write MIDI files and timidity to play MIDI files.
This is an early release, which means that there is a number of features which are not implemented. But keen little rabbit ears works pretty fine on my Pentium 90 using Suse Linux (Version 6.1) and under Window 95 too.
I strongly recommend everyone to read a good book on this. There are several ways to train. In general you do it like this. In the first level only select 2 or 3 items you already know or which are
the most common. In the next level you proceed and add the next 2 common items.

struts timeEntry project is a self training application that developers can use while learning Apaches Struts framework. Often when learning a new language, library or framework, developers find that the example code they are presented with is acedemic and "best case".
They find it difficult to locate real-world case studies in which the language, library or framework have been put into practice.
struts timeEntry stives to be a real-world application that utilizes the struts framework fully. Some project goals include:
