Punit is an attempt to create a Python CD ripper using cdparanoia and lame for Linux.

I couldnt get Sound Juicer to rip mp3, GooBox encodes mp3 using VBR which screws up the mp3 times in Foobar2000. I wanted a simple mp3 ripper and i wanted to learn Python so I made my own.

Right now, its a straight forward ripper to mp3 with the format 128 kbps, 44100Hz, stereo. Comments, suggestions, improvements are all welcomed.

Lien Mp3 Player is a mp3 and audio cd player for GNU Linux console.

MP3::Tag::ParseData is a Perl module for parsing arbitrary data associated with music files.

VDR MP3/MPlayer Extensions let you play MP3s with Video Disk Recorder and provide a frontend for MPlayer so you can use a DVB card to play files in formats like AVI, ASF, QT, MOV, VIVO, FLI, and FLC.

VDR MP3 plugin adds sound playback capability to VDR by Klaus Schmidinger.

Supported audio codecs:

- libmad Supports MPEG-1/2/2.5 with layers 1/2/3.

Note: for most formats MPlayer has to do on-the-fly transcoding to MPEG1. This requires a decent CPU to work (>1Ghz). It may work with slower CPUs if you tune down the transcoding quality.

web mp3 player for xmms is a simple Web MP3 player based on XMMS and XMMS-Shell.

The project is useful if you have a Linux server attached to your stereo/home theater and you want to play MP3s easily via a Web interface.

A little playlist support is included. Important note: it is totally insecure, and should only by used in a limited environment.

MP3 Streaming DownSampler for PHP is written with cable modem/DSL users with low upstream caps in mind. Using LAME, it dynamically downsamples a requested MP3 to a bitrate which can be streamed.

It doesnt use temporary files, so you dont have to take the time to do any batching, and you just give it a directory with symlinks to your music in a place the Web server can reach. The interface is simplistic and fast, meant for immediate plug and play access.
