wxCam is a webcam application for linux. It supports video recording (in an uncompressed AVI format), snapshot taking, and some special commands for Philips webcams, so you can also use the program for astronomy purposes.

It supports video for Linux drivers, so it should work on a very large number of devices.

NicE Desktop is a Debian-based, live Linux distribution. Being a live distribution, it runs from portable storage, such as a CD/DVD or USB flash drive. This operating system can be run in both text mode and graphical mode.

ExtUtils::CBuilder is a Perl module to compile and link C code for Perl modules.

This module can build the C portions of Perl modules by invoking the appropriate compilers and linkers in a cross-platform manner. It was motivated by the Module::Build project, but may be useful for other purposes as well. However, it is not intended as a general cross-platform interface to all your C building needs. That would have been a much more ambitious goal!

Web Perl module contains a set of useful routines for many webworking purposes.

This module was primarily made for UNIX/Linux-Systems. Parts of it cannot be used on other systems. E.g. the procedures for file locking demand systems that can use symlinks. If you use the modul on systems where symlinks cannot be used, fatal errors may happen.

ABSTRACT

This perl module serves users with several useful routines for many purposes, like generating webpages, processing CGI scripts, working with XML datafiles and net-connections. It also uses own variants of routines, that was invented first in the famous libraries CGI.pm and cgi-lib.pl.

INSTALLATION

If you dont have sufficient privileges to install web.pm in the Perl library directory, you can put web.pm into some convenient spot, such as your home directory, or in cgi-bin itself and prefix all Perl scripts that call it with something along the lines of the following preamble:

NLock

This routine allows to set a filelock across NFS-boundaries. The common used perl-routine flock() fails at this point, so this routine is a useable alternative for bigger file-systems. It uses the modular functions link() and unlink() to mark a file locked. In addition to this, it also gives the locked file a counter: A file that is locked for more than $web::MAX_LOCKTIME seconds will be freed by the next process that calls NLock() on this file. A calling process gets either 0 or 1 as a return value, where 1 is returned if the file-locking was successful. 0 is returned only if the process waits for more than $web::MAX_WAITLOCK seconds or if symlink() fails.

Grey Matter is a CGI-based logging application suitable for a variety of purposes, mainly blogging. The project doesnt require a backend database and features a very flexible template system, as well as a karma and comment system.
Enhancements:
- Continuing code refactoring, with small admin UI enhancements such as paging on very long screens.
- Contains security enhancements and bugfixes as well.

The following document describes some of the coding standards used in writing the App::Context framework (App-Options, App-Context, App-Repository, App-Widget, and other minor distributions). This document exists for two purposes:

1. To provide a guideline for people who wish to contribute to or extend code in the App::Context framework.
2. To provide a samples style guide to any development group who desires a simple, effective coding standard for programming in Perl.

Note that these are all guidelines, not unbreakable rules.

Note that with much of this document, it is not so much the Right Way as it is One Reasonable Way. Everyone needs to have conventions in order to make life easier.
