JasperReports is a powerful open source Java reporting tool that has the ability to deliver rich content onto the screen, to the printer or into PDF, HTML, XLS, CSV and XML files.
It is entirely written in Java and can be used in a variety of Java enabled applications, including J2EE or Web applications, to generate dynamic content.
JasperReports is main purpose is to help creating page oriented, ready to print documents in a simple and flexible manner.

HP Linux Imaging and Printing Driver Project consists of two projects:

1) HPIJS, a printer driver for HP devices

2) HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP), a complete printing and imaging solution for Linux (note: HPLIP includes HPIJS).

Libinklevel is a library for checking the ink level of your printer on a system which runs Linux.
libinklevel supports printers attached via parallel port or usb.
Enhancements:

hylaPEx is a client for HylaFAX completely written in Python. It can read and view sent and received faxes.
It supports TIFF and PS/PDF formats. hylaPEx can use redmon to create a virtual fax print. It supports shared contacts with a MySQL database.

Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript is an award-winning open source project, as used by NASA, that facilitates the printing of all major barcode symbologies entirely within level 2 PostScript.
Hence the process of generating a printed barcode representing a given input is performed entirely within the printer (or print system) so that it is no longer the responsibility of your application or a library.
There is no need for any barcode fonts and the flexibility gained by using direct PostScript allows you to avoid re-implementing barcode generator code, or migrating to new libraries, whenever your project language needs change.
Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript project makes including any barcode within a PostScript document as simple as inserting the following directive:

The project generates all of the major types of one-dimensional barcode supported by the vast majority of barcode scanners.
The current list of supported symbologies includes: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-5 & EAN-2 (EAN/UPC add-ons), ISBN (including ISBN-13), Code 128 (A, B & C, including EAN-128), Code 39 Extended, Code 93 Extended, Interleaved 2 of 5 (including ITF-14), Code 2 of 5, Codabar, MSI, Plessey, PostNet, Royal Mail (RM4SCC), FIM symbols.

Since this resource is written in PostScript and interpretted within the virtual machine of a printer it is compatible with virtually any operating system and hardware platform, for example Windows 95/XP on i386, Mac OS X/Linux on Power PC, Solaris on SPARC, and OpenVMS on Alpha AXP.

IBM 3270 Terminal Applications suite consists of seven applications.
x3270 is an IBM 3270 terminal emulator for the X Window System and Windows. The project runs on most Unix-like operating systems -- e.g., Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris and Cygwin. It also runs natively on Windows.
x3270 runs over a TELNET connection, emulating either an IBM 3279 (color) or 3278 (monochrome). It supports:
- The full TN3270E protocol
- SSL/TLS (via the OpenSSL library) for encrypted sessions
- APL2 characters
- Non-English character sets, including Russian, Turkish, Hebrew and DBCS Chinese and Japanese
- IND$FILE file transfer
- NVT mode (emulating a color xterm)
- A pop-up keypad for 3270-specific keys
- A scrollbar
- Printer session integration
- Extensive debugging and scripting facilities
It does not yet support graphics. x3270 is distributed as source code, and can be used for free.

multitask allows Python programs to use generators (aka coroutines) to perform cooperative multitasking and asynchronous I/O. Applications written using multitask consist of a set of cooperating tasks that yield to a shared task manager whenever they perform a (potentially) blocking operation, such as I/O on a socket or getting data from a queue.

The task manager temporarily suspends the task (allowing other tasks to run in the meantime) and then restarts it when the blocking operation is complete. Such an approach is suitable for applications that would otherwise have to use select() and/or multiple threads to achieve concurrency.

This project is free software, distributed under the MIT license.

As a very simple example, heres how one could use multitask to allow two unrelated tasks to run concurrently:

The functions and classes in the multitask module allow tasks to yield for I/O operations on sockets and file descriptors, adding/removing data to/from queues, or sleeping for a specified interval. When yielding, a task can also specify a timeout. If the operation for which the task yielded has not completed after the given number of seconds, the task is restarted, and a Timeout exception is raised at the point of yielding.

Tasks can also yield other tasks, which allows for composition of tasks and reuse of existing multitasking code. A child task runs until it either completes or raises an exception, and its output or exception is propagated to its parent. For example:
