Database of Managed Objects 2.4 Beta

Database of Managed Objects 2.4 Beta

DMO stands for Database of Managed Objects. more>>
DMO stands for "Database of Managed Objects." This is a tool for documenting all objects within a data center.
Database of Managed Objects provides an object-based overlay on a MySQL database, with a Web-based interface, which allows new objects to be defined in a hierarchy.
Each object can have attributes defined, which are inherited by objects below in the hierarchy. Information can be imported in CSV or XML format, and reports can be produced in XML, CSV, PDF and HTML formats.
DMO uses PHP and MySQL to support documentation of all network and system objects within your computing environment. It offers a Web interface that enables easy navigation through objects, instances and attributes, with XML and access controls.
Enhancements:
- This is the first significant release of DMO for nearly two years.
- It works with Linux and Windows (XAMPP), but should work well with any LAMP stack including PHP4.
- New features include much more graphical viewing, as well as mapping objects onto maps with drill-down to additional layers of maps following dependency trails, a new Flash viewer for browsing through objects, and the ability to create chains of objects based on any attribute type (where any other object can be an attribute of any other object).

WWW::Myspace::Data 0.13

WWW::Myspace::Data 0.13

WWW::Myspace::Data is a WWW::Myspace database interaction. more>>
WWW::Myspace::Data is a WWW::Myspace database interaction.

SYNOPSIS

This module is the database interface for the WWW::Myspace modules. It imports methods into the callers namespace which allow the caller to bypass the loader object by calling the methods directly. This module is intended to be used as a back end for the Myspace modules, but it can also be called directly from a script if you need direct database access.

my %db = (
dsn => dbi:mysql:database_name,
user => username,
password => password,
);

# create a new object
my $data = WWW::Myspace::Data->new( $myspace, { db => %db } );

# set up a database connection
my $loader = $data->loader();

# initialize the database with Myspace login info
my $account_id = $data->set_account( $username, $password );

# now do something useful...
my $update = $data->update_friend( $friend_id );

WWW::Myspace::FriendAdder 0.12

WWW::Myspace::FriendAdder 0.12

WWW::Myspace::FriendAdder Perl module will interactively add friends to your Myspace account. more>>
WWW::Myspace::FriendAdder Perl module will interactively add friends to your Myspace account.

SYNOPSIS

This module gives you a little more flexibility when adding friends to your Myspace account. It is interactive and will occasionally prompt you for input. Youll have the most success when using it at the command line, but you do have the option of suppressing its reporting and interactive nature if you want to run it from a cgi script or if you just find it annoying. Hey, youve got your reasons, right? This module is an extension of Grant Grueningers handy WWW::Myspace module.

use WWW::Myspace;
use WWW::Myspace::FriendAdder;

my $myspace = WWW::Myspace->new();

my $adder = WWW::Myspace::FriendAdder->new( $myspace );

my @friend_ids = (List, of, friend, ids);

$adder->send_friend_requests( @friend_ids );

By default, this routine will try to add as many friends as possible until it it reaches max_count, which defaults to 50, but can be set to any number of your choosing. See below. When Myspace prompts you for user input, the routine will pause and allow you as much time as you need to fill out the Myspace form. Once you have done so, you may prompt the script to continue or to exit. Upon its exit, the script will report on its success and/or failure.

Php Object Generator 3.0

Php Object Generator 3.0

PHP Object Generator (POG) is a PHP code generator which generates clean and tested object oriented code for your PHP4/PHP5. more>>
Php Object Generator on short POG is an open source PHP code generator which automatically generates clean & tested Object Oriented code for your PHP4/PHP5 application.
Over the years, we realized that a large portion of a PHP programmers time is wasted on repetitive coding of the Database Access Layer of an application simply because different applications require different objects.
By generating PHP objects with integrated CRUD methods, POG gives you a head start in any project and saves you from writing and testing SQL queries. The time you save can be spent on more interesting areas of your project. But dont take our word for it, give it a try!
Main features:
- Generates clean & tested code
- Generates CRUD methods
- Compatible with PHP4 & PHP5
- Compatible with PDO
- Free for personal use
- Free for commercial use
- Open Source
Enhancements:
- POG now fetches result set arrays where possible (which provides a big performance boost).
- Data encoding is handled within the database.
- A new plugin interface is used.
- A data encoding sanity check was added to setup.
- Siblings can be deleted without deleting children.
- Getlist() accepts column names as filters.
- Getlist(), GetChild(), and GetSibling() return all results if no arguments are passed.
- A database wrapper class for PDO was added.
- The PDO performance was improved.
- The plugin API, POG base API, and database API were made uniform to prevent plugin versioning.

Object::LocalVars 0.16

Object::LocalVars 0.16

Object::LocalVars is a Perl module with outside-in objects with local aliasing of $self and object variables. more>>
Object::LocalVars is a Perl module with outside-in objects with local aliasing of $self and object variables.
SYNOPSIS
package My::Object;
use strict;
use Object::LocalVars;
give_methods our $self; # this exact line is required
our $field1 : Prop;
our $field2 : Prop;
sub as_string : Method {
return "$self has properties $field1 and $field2";
}
This is a development release. The API may change slightly. Do not use for production purposes. Comments appreciated.
This module helps developers create "outside-in" objects. Properties (and $self) are declared as package globals. Method calls are wrapped such that these globals take on a local value that is correct for the specific calling object and the duration of the method call. I.e. $self is locally aliased to the calling object and properties are locally aliased to the values of the properties for that object. The package globals themselves only declare properties in the package and hold no data themselves. Data are stored in a separate namespace for each property, keyed off the reference memory addresses of the objects.
Outside-in objects are similar to "inside-out" objects, which store data in a single lexical hash (or closure) for each property, which is keyed off the reference memory addresses of the objects. Both differ from classic Perl objects, which hold data for the object directly using a blessed reference or closure to a data structure, typically a hash. For both outside-in and inside-out objects, data are stored centrally and the blessed reference is simply a key to look up the right data in the central data store.
The use of package variables for outside-in objects allows for the use of dynamic symbol table manipulation and aliasing. As a result, Object::LocalVars delivers a variety of features -- though with some corresponding drawbacks.
Main features:
- Provides $self automatically to methods without my $self = shift and the like
- Provides dynamic aliasing of properties within methods -- methods can access properties directly as variables without the overhead of calls to accessors or mutators, eliminating the overhead of these calls in methods
- Array and hash properties may be accessed via direct dereference of simple variables, allowing developers to push, pop, splice, etc. without the usual tortured syntax to dereference an accessor call
- Properties no longer require accessors to have compile time syntax checking under strictures (i.e. use strict); public properties have accessors automatically provided as needed
- Uses attributes to mark properties and methods, but only in the BEGIN phase so should be mod_perl friendly (though this has not been tested yet)
- Provides attributes for public, protected and private properties, class properties, and methods
- Orthogonality -- can subclass just about any other class, regardless of implementation.
- Multiple inheritance supported in initializers and destructors (though only one superclass can be of a special, orthogonal type)
- Minimally thread-safe under Perl 5.8 or greater -- objects are safely cloned across thread boundaries (or a pseudo-fork on Win32)
- Achieves these features without source filtering

Basset::Object 1.04

Basset::Object 1.04

Basset::Object is a Perl module used to create objects. more>>
Basset::Object is a Perl module used to create objects.

This is my ultimate object creation toolset to date. It has roots in Mail::Bulkmail, Text::Flowchart, and the unreleased abstract object constructors that Ive tooled around with in the past.

If you want an object to be compatible with anything else Ive written, then subclass it off of here.

Of course, you dont have to use this to create subclasses, but youll run the risk of making something with an inconsistent interface vs. the rest of the system. Thatll confuse people and make them unhappy. So I recommend subclassing off of here to be consistent. Of course, you may not like these objects, but they do work well and are consistent. Consistency is very important in interface design, IMHO.

Mock Objects for C++ 1.16.1

Mock Objects for C++ 1.16.1

mockpp is a platform-independent generic unit testing framework for C++. more>>
mockpp is a platform independent generic unit testing framework for C++. Mock Objects for C++ goal is to facilitate developing unit tests in the spirit of Mock Objects for Java, EasyMock and jMock.
Mock objects allow you to set up predictible behaviour to help you test your production code by emulating some functionality your code depends on. This might for example be a huge database which is too difficult and time consuming to maintain just for testing purposes.
Originally I started with a port of MockObjects to C++ and wanted to keep the same interfaces. But in the meanwhile I found out more about Java and its differencens to C++ (its funny reflection api for example ) and so I had to change a bunch of details.
Additionally I included the working method of EasyMock. From my limited understanding of Java there seems to be something similar in MockObjects but I guess EasyMock is easier to use and certainly was easier to port to C++.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a compilation issue on Mac OS platforms and a parsing problem with mockpp2xml.

Locale::Object::Language 0.75

Locale::Object::Language 0.75

Locale::Object::Language Perl module contains language information objects. more>>
Locale::Object::Language Perl module contains language information objects.

Locale::Object::Language allows you to create objects containing information about languages such as their ISO codes, the countries theyre used in and so on.

SYNOPSIS

use Locale::Object::Language;

my $eng = Locale::Object::Language->new( code_alpha3 => eng );

my $name = $eng->name;
my $code_alpha2 = $eng->code_alpha2;
my $code_alpha3 = $eng->code_alpha3;

my @countries = $eng->countries;

my $gb = Locale::Object::Country->new( code_alpha2 => gb );

print $eng->official($gb);

METHODS

new()

my $eng = Locale::Object::Language->new( code_alpha3 => eng );

The new method creates an object. It takes a single-item hash as an argument - valid options to pass are ISO 3166 values - code_alpha2, code_alpha3 and name (see Locale::Object::DB::Schemata for details on these).
The objects created are singletons; if you try and create a currency object when one matching your specification already exists, new() will return the original one.

name(), code_alpha2(), code_alpha3()

my $name = $country->name;

These methods retrieve the values of the attributes in the object whose name they share.

countries()

my @countries = $eng->countries;

Returns an array (in array context, otherwise a reference) of Locale::Object::Country objects with their ISO 3166 alpha2 codes as keys (see Locale::Object::DB::Schemata for more details on those) for all countries using this currency in array context, or a reference in scalar context. The objects have their own attribute methods, so you can do things like this for example:

foreach my $place (@countries)
{
print $place->name, "n";
}

Which will list you all the countries that use in that currency. See the documentation for Locale::Object::Country for a listing of country attributes. Note that you can chain methods as well.

foreach my $place (@countries)
{
print $place->continent->name, "n";
}
official()
my $gb = Locale::Object::Country->new( code_alpha2 => gb );

print $eng->official($gb); # prints true

Give this method a Locale::Object::Country object, and it will return a true or false value for whether the country the object represents has the language represented by your Locale::Object::Language object as an official language. See database.pod for a note about languages in the database.

sub postsave($old,@passby) { ... }
$newid = sub preload($id) { .... }
sub postload() { ... }
sub preremove() { ... }
sub postremove() { ... }

Object::Transaction provides transaction support for hash-based objects that are stored one-per-file using Storable. Multiuser access is supported. In the future, serializing methods other than Storable will be supported.

Object::Transaction is a virtual base class. In order to use it, you must inherit from it and override the new method and the file method.

Optomistic locking is used: it is possible that a transaction will fail because the data that is is based upon has changed out from under it.
