ChainBuilder ESB is an open source Enterprise Service Bus. ChainBuilder ESB allows IT developers with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) infrastructures to create standards-based ESB components through Eclipse-based graphical user interfaces. Most organizations SOAs need to include strategic backend systems that operate with non-XML data formats and non-WebServices communication protocols. Bostech focus on usability ensured the initial offerings of ChainBuilder ESB had industry standard editors to manage EDI X12, HL7, fixed and variable formats and communication components for TCP/IP, FTP and file protocols and database components for JMS and ETL integrations - the formats and protocols that organizations with mature applications absolutely require. ChainBuilder ESB also has uncommon high-end open source features, like an AJAX-based Console web interface for monitoring and controlling the production environment, usually found only with expensive proprietary systems. Bostech Corporation is deploys a dual-license distribution model for ChainBuilder ESB. Developers can download the open source software for Windows, Linux and Unix under the common GPL license at http://www.chainforge.net. A commercial license and subscription support is also available for enterprises and software vendors.

Ark Linux 2007.1

Ark Linux 2007.1

Ark Linux is a Linux distribution designed especially for desktop use. more>>
Ark Linux is a Linux distribution designed especially for desktop use, primarily for people without prior Linux experience. Ark Linuxs main goal is ease of use, and the inclusion of many tools end users will need.
Ark Linux is fully Open Source and Free Software, meaning, basically, you can freely redistribute it in both modified and unmodified form.
Enhancements:
- The Ark Linux team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Ark Linux 2007.1, the latest version of its multi-purpose desktop operating system. Ark Linux can be used for office/school work, desktop publishing, graphics, multimedia entertainment/editing, gaming, software development, and more.
Ark Linux is very adaptable and responsive to the users needs without being overly complicated and/or bloated or difficult to install (all a basic installation takes is 3 mouse clicks). For a more customized install, use the expert mode, which makes it possible to manually set up the partitions you wish to install Ark Linux into.
There have been many more changes since the 2006.1 release - all components have been updated to current versions. For example, Ark Linux 2007.1 includes the KDE 3.5.7 desktop, the OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 office suite and the Amarok music player 1.4.7. It also includes the latest underlying technologies such as Linux kernel 2.6.22.3, glibc 2.6.1, and has been built completely with gcc 4.2.1, resulting in a faster system and quicker response times.
A new and better integrated version of the wine Windows emulator makes it possible to run more Windows applications on Linux than before.
In addition to this, hardware detection has been improved, many new drivers are included, support for encrypted wireless networks has been improved and many additional applications and games have been added to the software repository.
We also have good news for developers and OEMs: The Ark Linux build system has been extended to allow customized builds of both Ark Linux and Ark Linux Live including your packages of choice - making it easier than ever to build your own Linux distribution. All details on the new build system can be found at http://wiki.arklinux.org/index.php/Customized_Ark_Linux_CDs-.
Ark Linux 2007.1 and various add-on CDs can be downloaded at http://www.arklinux.org/. Free live support is available using the web chat at http://www.arklinux.org/content/en/Live+Support

Gaia Ajax Widgets 2007 Q3

Gaia Ajax Widgets 2007 Q3

Gaia Ajax Widgets is an Ajax library for ASP.NET and Mono. more>>
Gaia Ajax Widgets is an Ajax library for ASP.NET and Mono. The project is a "high-level library", meaning it abstracts away JavaScript 100%, and the developer doesnt have to write anything other than his favorite .Net language like C#, VB.NET, IronPython, or Boo (Mono).

Gaia is not your average "yet another Ajax Framework", with Gaia you can do things impossible in all other Ajax Libraries. Gaia is about letting you do Ajax and not Ajax do YOU! In fact were so certain about this that if youre not satisfied with Gaia Ajax Widgets within 3 months of purchasing well give you a total refund of all of your license costs! If you cant do it with any other Ajax Framework you can probably do it with Gaia!

Apalogretrieve 0.9.2

Apalogretrieve 0.9.2

Apalogretrieve program retrieves data from an Apache logfile with a syntax, that is derived (a subset of) the SQL language. more>>
Apalogretrieve program retrieves data from an Apache logfile with a syntax, that is derived (a subset of) the SQL language.

The idea to make such an implementation came up at 17th of July 2007. I just started it then.

The basic idea of using an SQL-like dialect for logfile-analysis I had many years ago, but as there was no necessity, I didnt started a project like this.

The reason why I started to implement it now is, that the idea about SQL-querying of a logfile was now of interest to me, because I hated the way, how webalizer does it: you have graphical results very easy, but how to make detailed lookups to certain information? And: what about the delay until the (averaging) data can be seen in the graphs, and other problems, when changing a webalizer.conf-file?

So, this was the reason to start it.

As I not every day have the time to implement it, and only do it in a spare time window, it might need some time to make it ready, but reading Apaches common logfile-format as well as parsing simple SQL-like SELECT statements already works (19th of July 2007).

Usage Example:

SELECT host,date FROM "apache-commonlog.log" where size > 2000;
SELECT host,date,client,referrer FROM "apache-commonlog.log" where host = "foobar.host.net";

Greensocs 2007.03-1 (GSPM)

Greensocs 2007.03-1 (GSPM)

Greensocs is a development kit for producing systems on a chip using SystemC. more>>
Greensocs project is a development kit for producing systems on a chip using SystemC (a C++ derivative) as opposed to Verilog or VHDL.
GreenSocs mission is to encourage SystemC to be used by designers. It will do this by engineering SystemC infrastructure to compliment the capabilities developed by OSCI and commercial EDA providers, promoting and utilising academic research. The aim is to extend the use and applicability of SystemC, by co-ordinating and promoting collaboratively developed models, methods and utilities, prioritised by designers needs.
The principle benefits are:
- To lower infrastructure development, training and adoption costs.
- To enable higher degrees of IP reuse and interchange.
- To enable EDA companies to build tools in support of the standards.
GreenSocs runs a SourceForge project called the GreenSocs project. Its aims are to develop SystemC infrastructure, basic IP, patches and add on library code for eventual standardisation. The GreenSocs project is made up of a number of contributions (sub projects).
In order to facilitate the use of SystemC and the infrastructure, patches and extensions that GreenSocs develops, pre-built binary packages including all of the stable GreenSocs patches and basic building blocks are available from the downloads area.
Enhancements:
- Assorted minor updates and bugfixes.

TinyMe 2007 Test 5

TinyMe 2007 Test 5

TinyMe project exists to create a remaster of PCLinuxOS 2007 that will be quite slimmed down. more>>
TinyMe project exists to create a remaster of PCLinuxOS 2007 that will be quite slimmed down. The target is to get a functioning ~150MB ISO image that can provide a base installation for other MyPCLinuxOS projects, development, playing around, installation to old computers, where a minimal installation is all thats needed, and any other situations where a tiny Linux installation is required or desirable.
We want to create something that can compete with distros like Puppy, DSL, Feather, NimbleX, and PUD for speed and size while maintaining a similar level of functionality through the GUI.
Username/Password:
tiny/tiny
root/root
Enhancements:
- Fixed most open bugs. Only remaining major open bug (in my opinion) is that TinyMe still doesnt auto mount removable media.
- I switched to GDM. This allows us greater flexibility with our login manager. Also, it enables Shutdown and Reboot options on logout.
- AbiWord was installed, with all the plugins your heart desires. Create and edit ODT, DOC, WPD, and many other formats.
- Idesk now handles the desktop instead of PCManFM.
- Enabeled LXPanel transparency.
- Added Grafburn for burning CDs and DVDs. Thanks to Nathan Fisher of Grafpup for Grafburn.
- Created Welcome page. Fire up Opera to see it. (Did I mention Opera handles web browsing, mail, Bittorrent, and IRC chat?)
- Conky is a SuperKaramba-like desktop monitoring applet which has been added. GKrellm was fired. :-)
- Do you like music? Audacious was added. Audacious is a lot like WinAmp and you can use WinAmp themes on it.
- MEdit proved to be somewhat buggy. Although I rather liked it, I opted to use SciTE instead. Enjoy.
- Changed Mrxvt to the default terminal. Mrxvt is a tabbed terminal, plus it has some pretty cool transparency.
- Galculator is a quite small calculator added to test 5.
- Xarchiver has been added for its wonderous abilities to open just about any compressed archive, including RPMs and ISOs.
- MtPaint was added. MtPaint is a very basic picture editor. You can also use MtPaint to take a screenshot.
- XKill has been added and a menu entry created for those balky programs which hang on you.
- Tweaked overall look n feel some more. Added 2 wallpapers (okay, its 1 wallpaper; 1 is 4:3, the other 16:10)

Genoa Active Message MAchine 13-July-2007

Genoa Active Message MAchine 13-July-2007

Genoa Active Message MAchine is a low-latency, high-throughput driver wrapper for the Linux kernel. more>>
Genoa Active Message MAchine is a low-latency, high-throughput driver wrapper for the Linux kernel, using Active Ports (a version of Active Messages).
Genoa Active Message MAchine runs parallel to the IP stack and is designed for LANs only.
Main features:
- A low latency, high throughput communication system for clusters of PCs
- Supports both single and dual CPU processing nodes (Intel IA-32 or x86_64)
- Runs on Gigabit Ethernet
- SPMD parallel processing with message passing
- Can run IP traffic when not in use
- Good programmability thanks to fairly high abstraction level
- Reliable thanks to mechanisms for retransmission of missing packets
- Implemented as a network device driver for Linux 2.6, and released under GNU GPL
Network Of Workstations (NOWs) and clusters of PCs interconnected by modern, industry-standard LAN fabrics (Gigabit Ethernet, Myrinet, SCI) and running the Linux operating system, have became an attractive and cost-effective architecture for parallel and distributed applications. The usual drawback of a standard PC cluster is the poor performance of the support to inter-process communication over the interconnect. Current implementations of industry-standard communication primitives, APIs, and protocols, usually show high communication latencies and low communication throughput.
We have developed a system for inter-process communication, called the Genoa Active Message MAchine (GAMMA). GAMMA runs on Linux clusters of PCs with Intel IA-32 processors (Intel Pentium, AMD K6, and superior models), or x86_64 processors (AMD Athlon64, AMD Opteron, Intel EMT-64), networked by a Gigabit Ethernet.
The core of GAMMA is a custom Linux network device driver, which operates the Network Interface Card (NIC). The GAMMA driver delivers low latency, high throughput communication services based on Active Ports, a mechanism derived from Active Messages. Both point-to-point and broadcast communications are provided. Broadcast communication exploits the Ethernet broadcast directly.
The GAMMA driver is able to manage standard IP traffic as long as no parallel job is running. Therefore, all IP services are up and running whenever the cluster is not in use by any parallel job.
The communication mechanisms implemented in the GAMMA driver are made available to application writers through the GAMMA user library. The GAMMA library provides support to application launch, process grouping, point-to-point/broadcast communications based on the Active Ports mechanisms, and some collective routines (barrier synchronization, and broadcast).
GAMMA provides two levels of QoS. The lower one, corresponding to the fastest communications, is a best-effort service. With this service, network congestion and ``hot spots may cause the receiver NIC or even the LAN switch to loose packets by overrun. The other QoS level provides flow-controlled communication, ensuring reliability up to hardware faults, at a negligible performance penalty.
Installing the GAMMA driver requires only two small and marginal patches to the original Linux kernel. The Linux kernel extended by the GAMMA driver must be installed on each PC in the cluster.
A porting of MPI atop GAMMA is available, called MPI/GAMMA.
