Consonance is a .NET/Gtk# client for the OpenGroupware groupware server.

Consonance connects to the OpenGroupware.org groupware service via the ZideStore service; the ZideStore service must have a current version of the zOGI bundle installed.

NOTE: As of 2007-05-28 Consonance and the ZOGI .NET client assembly is being targeted at .NET 2.0 in order to use Db4o as a client side cache. This means Mono users must have at least Mono 1.2.4. Earlier version of Mono contain a bug/deficiency when in .NET 2.0 mode that prevents them from being able to perform HTTP authentication. The GUI application Consonance requires Gtk# 2.8.3 or better.

Those who cry "Bloatware!" deflector - Consonance is a groupware client, not a PIM. It is intended from the beginning to be a large application, with significant resource requirements, with many features. Groupware is software for those with complex collaboration needs, those with simpler needs wont "get it". We are just fine with that; dont bother to try and explain to us how we are wrong because you have different needs.

phpGroupWare is a multi-user groupware suite written in PHP.
It provides about 50 web-based applications, as there are the Calendar, Addressbook, an advanced Projects manager, Todo List, Notes, Email, Newsgroup- and Headlines Reader, a Filemanager and many more Applications. The calendar supports repeating events and includes alarm functions. The email system supports inline graphics and file attachments.
The system as a whole supports user preferences, themes, user permissions, multi-language support and unser groups. It includes modules to setup and administrate the working environment. The groupware suite is based on an advanced Application Programming Interface (API).

KCall is the telephony application of Kontact. The project supports computer telephony integration and at the same time integration into KDEs infrastructure.

KCall does this by using KDEs addressbook, which in turn can be a server-based groupware addressbook.

Whats New in This Release:

KCall is using the KDE 4 environment now. As part of the porting effort we switched our buildsystem over to CMake. Download the sources and run the following commands:

cmake ..
make
make install

You can then start kcall.

The OPEN-XCHANGE? Collaboration and Integration Server Environment allows you to store appointments, contacts, tasks, emails, bookmarks, documents, and many more elements and share them with other users.
This environment can be accessed via any modern web browser and multiple fat clients like KDE Kontact, Apples iCAL, Konqueror, Mozilla Calendar, and many more.
Every 3rd party product can access this application over many different interfaces such as WebDAV (XML), LDAP, iCal, and HTTP/S. This makes the OPEN-XCHANGE? application a powerful product which can be used in many of different business and private areas successfully delivering access to e-mail and distributed groupware functions.
The OPEN-XCHANGE? Server is based on the following open source daemons and services: a web (HTTP/S) server (like Apache), a servlet engine (like Tomcat), a database (like PostgreSQL), a directory server (like OpenLDAP), and a mail (both SMTP and IMAP) server (like Postfix using Cyrus); just to list a few which are know to work.
Enhancements:

- These changes should fix all existing bugs related to recurring appointments and timezones.

- A new calendar API is available.
- Furthermore, the calendar views are now more consistent.

Kontact Personal Information Management suite unites mature and proven KDE applications (called components in the context) under one roof. Thanks to the powerful KParts technology, all components are seamlessly integrated into one application.
The components of KDE Kontact are all shaped to work nice with each other. This results in features like intuitive drag n dropping between components and appointment handling, task lists and contacts.
KDE Kontact also extends its components with support for various groupware servers. When using these servers your workgroup will have access to features like shared email folders, group task lists, calendar sharing, central addressbooks and meeting scheduling.

Main features:
The Summary Component
- This component is specially made for KDE Kontact. It provides both an overview of the other components and a selection of information gathered from the internet like weather info and headlines. In fact any RDF news feed can be added.
The Mail Component
- The mail component is provided by KMail, the KDE mail client -- a straight forward mail client that comes with all features you would expect.
The Calendar Component
- It is quite obvious that KOrganizer, again very mature KDE application, gets used as the calendar component. This feature-rich program is so easy to use and intuitive that you will quickly adopt it as your personal organizer. Extended with groupware functionality it can boost the communication within every workgroup.
The Contacts Component
- As the name implies: this component manages your valued contacts. The application providing this component is KAddressbook, a program that is deeply rooted into KDE. It was integrated in KMail and KOrganizer even before the KDE Kontact project was started
The Notes Component
- This component serves as your infinite block of digital sticky notes. Your can stick them on your desktop and they say visible even after closing KDE Kontact.
The News Component
- This straight forward, full-featured news reader is provided by KNode, KDEs default news reader.
The Sync Component
- KitchenSync, KDEs universal syncing application provides a framework for syncing with all kinds of devices. On one side it will have a plugin based interface with your mobile devices, like: PDAs and smart phones. On the other side it has conduits for connecting with other KDE Kontact components and external applications. The Sync component, provided by KitchenSync, is currently being implemented, therefore KitchenSync is not yet considered to be stable. Till the day that KitchenSync takes over we have two very nice applications that seamlessly integrate with KDE Kontact: KPilot for syncing with Palm compatible devices and Kandy for syncing with several mobile phone types. Eventually, KitchenSync will become a universal syncing framework.

Evolution Data Server provides a single database for common, desktop-wide information, such as a users address book or calendar events.

Evolution Data Server is also a dependency of the clock applet from the gnome-applets package, 2.10 release.

Evolution provides integrated mail, addressbook and calendaring functionality to users of the GNOME desktop.
