Scorched3D 41 Beta
Scorched3D is a 3D remake of the popular 2D artillery game Scorched Earth. more>>
Scorched 3D project is a game based loosely (or actually quite heavily now) on the classic DOS game Scorched Earth "The Mother Of All Games". Scorched 3D adds amongst other new features a 3D island environment and LAN and internet play. Scorched 3D is totally free and is available for both Microsoft Windows and Unix (Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, Solaris etc.) operating systems.
You can pick up the game and begin playing very quickly. Then, when/if you are interested, you can poke in the dimmer recesses of the game and get into the strategy (or just ignore it altogether!).
At its lowest level, Scorched 3D is just an artillery game with two+ tanks taking turns to destroy opponents in an arena. Choose the angle, direction and power of each shot, launch your weapon, and try to blow up other tanks. Thats basically it.
But Scorched 3D can be a lot more complex than that, if you want it to be. You can earn money from successful battles and use it to invest in additional weapons and accessories. You can play with up to twenty four other players at a time, mixing computer players with humans.
Theres a variety of changing environmental conditions and terrains to be dealt with. After the end of each round (which ends when everybody dies or theres only one person left), you get to buy stuff using the prize money you won from previous matches.

BuGLe 0.0.20070718
BuGLe is a tool for OpenGL debugging, implemented as a wrapper library that sits between your program and OpenGL. more>>
BuGLe is a tool for OpenGL debugging at it is implemented as a wrapper library that sits between your program and OpenGL.
Main features:
- Dump a textual log of all GL calls made.
- Take a screenshot after every frame, or capture a video (the latter requires FFmpeg)
- Call glGetError after each call to check for errors, and wrap glGetError so that this checking is transparent to your program.
- Capture and display statistics (such as frame rate)
- Force a wireframe mode
- Recover a backtrace from segmentation faults inside the driver (the NVIDIA drivers leave no backtrace when a segfault occurs).
In addition, there is a debugger (gldb) that lets you set breakpoints and examine backtraces. It also lets you examine OpenGL state, enable and disable filters, and drop into gdb to see what is going wrong.

Snowballz 0.9.4
Snowballz is an RTS game made with python. more>>
Snowballz is an RTS game made with python. Lots of penguins.
Snowballz is a (hopefully) fun little python based RTS game with no real plan. My style of developing has always, for some reason, just to let the project move and change as it goes along.
The current gameplay is nothing like what I had in mind when I started coding it (and its a good thing too, cause what I had in mind at the beginning wasnt very good). I know... games should be planned out and then programmed, but I dont work like that.
Please note that it may run slow. It uses all SDL (no GL rendering). See the README file for help on speeding it up.

gtk-engines 2.10.2
Gtk-engines is a package containing a number of sample themes for GTK+. more>>
Gtk-engines is a package containing a number of sample themes for GTK+.
Main features:
Free
- GNOME is Free Software and part of the GNU project, dedicated to giving users and developers the ultimate level of control over their desktops, their software, and their data. Find out more about the GNU project and Free Software at gnu.org.
Usable
- GNOME understands that usability is about creating software that is easy for everyone to use, not about piling on features. GNOMEs community of professional and volunteer usability experts have created Free Softwares first and only Human Interface Guidelines, and all core GNOME software is adopting these principles. Find out more about GNOME and usability at the GNOME Usability Project.
Accessible
- Free Software is about enabling software freedom for everyone, including users and developers with disabilities. GNOMEs Accessibility framework is the result of several years of effort, and makes GNOME the most accessible desktop for any Unix platform. Find out more at the GNOME Accessibility Project.
International
- GNOME is used, developed and documented in dozens of languages, and we strive to ensure that every piece of GNOME software can be translated into all languages. Find out more at the GNOME Translation Project.
Developer-friendly
- Developers are not tied to a single language with GNOME. You can use C, C++, Python, Perl, Java, even C#, to produce high-quality applications that integrate smoothly into the rest of your Unix or Linux desktop.
Organized
- GNOME strives to be an organized community, with a foundation of several hundred members, usability, accessibility, and QA teams, and an elected board. GNOME releases are defined by the GNOME Release Team and are scheduled to occur every six months.
Supported
- Beyond the worldwide GNOME Community, GNOME is supported by the leading companies in Linux and Unix, including HP, MandrakeSoft, Novell, Red Hat, and Sun. Find out more at foundation.gnome.org.
A community
- Perhaps more than anything else, GNOME is a worldwide community of volunteers who hack, translate, design, QA, and generally have fun together. Find out more at GNOME Developers site.

Tomato Firmware 1.07
Tomato is a small, lean, simple replacement firmware for certain Linksys and Buffalo wireless routers. more>>
Tomato Firmware is a small, lean, simple replacement firmware for Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS and Buffalo WHR-G54S/WHR-HP-G54 routers.
It features a new easy to use GUI, a new bandwidth usage monitor, more advanced QOS and access restrictions, enables new wireless features such as WDS and wireless client modes.
It raises the limits on maximum connections for P2P, allows you to run your custom scripts or telnet/ssh in and do all sorts of things like re-program the SES/AOSS button, adds wireless site survey to see your wifi neighbors, and more.

Seismic Unix 4.0
Seismic Unix package is a software environment for seismic processing and seismic and wave-propagation related research. more>>
The CWP/SU Seixmic Un*x (SU) package is a software environment for seismic processing and seismic and wave-propagation related research.
Seismic Unix project is used not only in seismology but in other areas involving time-dependent data, such as Ground Penetrating RADAR.
Installation:
1) read the READMEs before unbundling cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z
2) dont install as root (the superuser) (It is possible to damage a systems file structure if the install is not done properly.)
3) begin with the compressed tarfile cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z in /your/root/path
4) set the CWPROOT environment variable to CWPROOT=/your/root/path
5) put /your/root/path/bin on your working shell path
6) uncompress and untar the compressed tarfile via:
zcat cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z | tar -xvf -
The code will appear as the single directory /your/root/path/src
7) compile codes via:
cd /your/root/path/src
1) edit the file /your/root/path/src/Makefile.config to agree with the needs of your system.
2) type:
make install (to install the basic set of codes)
make xtinstall (to install the X-toolkit applications)
make finstall (to install the Fortran codes)
make mglinstall (to install the Mesa/ Open GL items) (experimental)
make utils (to install libcwputils) (nonessential)
make xminstall (to install the Motif application)(nonessential)
make sfinstall (to install an improved version of SEGDREAD)
or if remaking:
type: make remake (to remake the basic set of codes)
make xtremake (to remake the X-toolkit applications)
make finstall (to install the Fortran codes)
make mglremake (to install the Mesa/ Open GL items)(experimental)
make uremake (to remake libcwputils.a)(nonessential)(nonessential)
make xmremake (to remake the Motif-based applications)(nonessential)
make sfremake (to remake the improved version of SEGDREAD)
You may have to do some hacking along the way, if the codes fail to compile the first time through. In this event, you may simply type "make" in the directory where you were modifying code. If code appears to have been missed, you may need to
use the "remaking" options.
A screen dump of a successfull install of the current version of the codes on a RedHat Linux based PC is located in the file: "install.successfull"
Enhancements:
- This version added functions for converting stiffnesses to velocities, replacing lobes on seismic data with a spike of height scaled by the area of the lobe, and carrying out deconvolution by complex division in the frequency domain.
- There were also many code speedups, cleanups, and bugfixes.
<<lessSeismic Unix project is used not only in seismology but in other areas involving time-dependent data, such as Ground Penetrating RADAR.
Installation:
1) read the READMEs before unbundling cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z
2) dont install as root (the superuser) (It is possible to damage a systems file structure if the install is not done properly.)
3) begin with the compressed tarfile cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z in /your/root/path
4) set the CWPROOT environment variable to CWPROOT=/your/root/path
5) put /your/root/path/bin on your working shell path
6) uncompress and untar the compressed tarfile via:
zcat cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z | tar -xvf -
The code will appear as the single directory /your/root/path/src
7) compile codes via:
cd /your/root/path/src
1) edit the file /your/root/path/src/Makefile.config to agree with the needs of your system.
2) type:
make install (to install the basic set of codes)
make xtinstall (to install the X-toolkit applications)
make finstall (to install the Fortran codes)
make mglinstall (to install the Mesa/ Open GL items) (experimental)
make utils (to install libcwputils) (nonessential)
make xminstall (to install the Motif application)(nonessential)
make sfinstall (to install an improved version of SEGDREAD)
or if remaking:
type: make remake (to remake the basic set of codes)
make xtremake (to remake the X-toolkit applications)
make finstall (to install the Fortran codes)
make mglremake (to install the Mesa/ Open GL items)(experimental)
make uremake (to remake libcwputils.a)(nonessential)(nonessential)

Clutter is a GObject based library for creating fast, visually rich graphical user interfaces. It is intended for creating single window heavily stylised applications such as media box uis, presentations or kiosk style programs in preference to regular desktop style applications.
Clutters underlying graphics rendering is OpenGL (version 1.2+) based. The clutter API is intended to be easy to use, attempting to hide many of the GL complexities. It targets mainly 2D based graphics and is definetly not intended to be a general interface for all OpenGL functionality.
As well as OpenGL Clutter depends on and uses Glib, Glib::Object, Gtk2::Pango, Gtk2::Gdk::Pixbuf and GStreamer.

Pike 7.6.112
Pike is a interpreted, object-oriented programming language with a syntax similar to C. more>>
Pike project is a general purpose programming language, which means that you can put it to use for almost any task. Its application domain spans anything from the world of the Net to the world of multimedia applications, or environments where your shell could use some spicy text processing or system administration tools.
Your imagination sets the limit, but Pike will probably extend it far beyond what you previously considered within reach.
Pike is released under the GNU GPL, GNU LGPL and MPL; this means that you can fetch it and use it for almost any purpose you please.
Main features:
- Pike is Powerful - Being a high-level language, Pike gives you concise, modular code, automatic memory management, flexible and efficient data types, transparent bignum support, a powerful type system, exception handling and quick iterative development cycles, alleviating the need for compiling and linking code before you can run it; on-the-fly modifications are milliseconds away from being put to practice.
- Pike is Fast - Most of the time critical parts of Pike are heavily optimized; Pike is really, really fast and uses efficient, carefully handcrafted algorithms and data types. Visit The Computer Language Shootout Benchmarks for more facts and figures on Pikes performance.
- Pike is Extendable - with modules written in C for speed or Pike for brevity. Pike supports multiple inheritance and most other constructs you would demand from a modern programming language.
- Pike is Scalable - as useful for small scripts as for bigger and more complex applications. Where some other scripting languages aim for providing unreadable language constructs for minimal code size, Pike aims for a small orthogonal set of readable language elements that encourage good habits and improve maintainability.
- Pike is Portable - Platform independence has always been our aim with Pike, and it compiles on most flavors of Unix, as well as on Windows (both ia32 and ia64 versions) and Mac OS X. To see the present status of how well the stable and development branches of Pike work on some of the many hardware architectures and operating systems Pike supports, visit the pikefarm pages.
- Pike is Free - Pike is released under multiple licenses; the GNU licenses GPL and LGPL, as well as the Mozilla license, MPL.
- Paradigms - Pike supports most programming paradigms, including (but not limited to) object orientation, functional programming, aspect orientation and imperative programming.
- Pike is Constantly Improving - While already being a great language, Pike is actively developed and backed by both an active Pike community and the computer science scientific research community. This means that Pike will stay the razorsharp tool that Pike people over the world expect it to be, while assimilating recent findings from the scientific forefront of research, spanning fields such as compositioning, regexp technology and the world of ontologies, also known as the Semantic Web.
- Pike is available via CVS - To help you get your hands on the very latest development versions of Pike, we provide Pike to anyone and everyone who knows his/her way around CVS. Stay as updated as you like on recent activity in the repository with our on-site CVS browser.
- You Too are Invited - We welcome contributions to pike, and it is our intention to provide write access to our repositories for those of you who want to join us in improving Pike, be it by contributing code, documentation, work with the web site or making tools and applications of general interest.
Enhancements:
- Fixes and enhancements were made for: machine code on Darwin IA32, optimization, -t on Win32, big endian 64-bit, 64-bit file operations, bytecode, multisets, program encoding, describe_value, array growth policy, timezone data files (including the recent US DST change), Calendar.Time.format_smtp, Calendar.Events, mktime, Sql.Sql, Mysql.set_charset, ODBC, UnixODBC, Gmp, Standards.IIM, Image.Image, Image.Dims, Image.PS, little endian TIFFs, GL, SSL, HTTP header parser, Protocols.HTTP.Query and .async_close, Protocols.DNS, Parser.XML.Validating, Shuffler, Cache, Valgrind support, and many build related issues.

FunGL 1.1
FunGL provides a Web-based polling application. more>>
FunGL provides a Web-based polling application.
FunGL is designed to allow anyone to create polls to survey the users of their Web site. The FunGL Software supports pie, row, and column graphs along with the standard percentages for poll results. FunGL can centrally manage many polls from multiple domains and Web pages.
FunGL is a web based survey software that can be used to poll your web sites users opinions on any subject matter. The survey software supports graphical outputs based on a pie chart, row or column. FunGL is designed to add fun functionality to your web site by allowing visitors to vote on survey questions.
Survey Technology: The survey software is written in PHP and uses mysql to store survey data. The survey software also utilizes browsers iframe capability in order to allow the survey to be placed on any web page, while being managed from a central server with the FunGL software installed.
Survey Software Security: The survey software makes a best effort to prevent users to committing vote fraud. That is voting multiple times. However we do not recommend this software to be used to conduct any true scientific experiments, but rather a fun tool to enhance any web page or site.
Survey Use: There are two ways to use the software to put a poll on your web site. The first way is to simply visit FunGL.com and signup for a free account. Because this is an open source project, you are also allowed to download the complete application for free (make sure you see the limited license that comes with the application). Downloading the software will allow you to install the application and create an unlimited number of polls, were as fungl.com limits the number of polls and or surveys that can be created per user account.
Some Information: There are two main types of users in the Fun GL software. Administrators and end users. Administrators can create an unlimited number of surveys; end users can only create one. However FunGL administrators can alter end users settings to allow them to create multiple projects and or multiple surveys.
Software Updates: Of course we want to have FUN by being the top survey polling software out there. We plan on updating our software frequently. We hope to get a lot of feedback from the open source community to not only make the FunGL.com site a success but also the software distribution itself.

Wiaflos Accounting 0.0.5
Wiaflos Accounting is an attempt to create a multi-platform server-client based accounting system. more>>
Wiaflos Accounting project is an attempt to create a multi-platform server-client based accounting system.
The goal is to have a central accounting engine which can either run on a dedicated server or on the same PC as the client interface. The accounting engine will provide a full SOAP API for easy writing of GUI/Web interfaces or tieing into inhouse systems. Seeing as the accounting engine is written in Perl and makes use of a database abstraction layer, the engine should run on nearly any operating system and use nearly any database system supported by Perl and the target OS.
We want this package to be of equal use to the one-man-show as a full accounting package running on a single PC aswell as to large multi-national corporate entities with dedicated accounting servers using the package as a fast stable accounting function, solution or full package.
Main features:
Platform independant
- Wiaflos Accountings core and engine is written in Perl. Perl is an interpreted programming language capable of running on many different platforms including Unix/Linux, Mac, Windows, BSD and many more.
Database independent
- Wiaflos Accountings database interface utilizes the Perl DBI module. This module allows Wiaflos Accounting to access multiple database types transparently, allowing you to utilize the database of your choice, be it MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, Informix, Sybase or ODBC (or basically anything else).
Folding database transactions
- All modules use database transactions to ensure that if an error occurs everything is rolled back to a safe state. When different modules are integrated to provide functionality like invoicing and purchasing, there are sometimes quite a number of transactions involved which both update, insert and query data. The Wiaflos Accounting database engine automatically merges all transactions during a specific operation into one, this ensures a clean rollback should anything go wrong.
SOAP API (WebServices)
- The interface to Wiaflos Accounting is based on SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol). The SOAP protocol is a critical communication protocol on the Internet due in large part to the fact that it has become native to so many development platforms, this allows Wiaflos Accounting the maximum benefit of integration and interpolation with other software packages. The SOAP API supports communication over HTTP and HTTPS and includes a full user-based access control system, allowing only certain users access to certain API functions.
Persistent sessions
- Not only does Wiaflos Accounting support SOAP, but it supports persistent SOAP sessions. Authentication is only required once, after that a session cookie is handed to the client application which can then be used in future function calls to authenticate.
Enhancements:
- This version includes support for statements and "balance brought forward" when requesting GL entries.
- Some bugfixes and feature enhancements were made.

openMSX is the MSX home computer system emulator that aims for perfection.
Almost all MSX machines are emulated: MSX1, MSX2, MSX2+, Turbo-R... And also quite some extra hardware is emulated: SCC, SCC+, FM-PAC, Music Module, PSG, Moonsound, Sunrise IDE, Disk Controllers, MIDI, almost all memory mappers, etc... Actually, more than any other MSX emulator!
It also features quite some extras: rendering using openGL acceleration, full screen, built in console (based on TCL), MSX debugging facilities, scalers, using directories as disk images (still buggy though), screenshots, speed settings, frame skip, scanlines, TV-blur, afterglow (GL), and more...
For a really long description: again, please see our home page.
Do note that openMSX is alpha software, which means that some things work but not all features are implemented yet.
