Spruce is an X11 mail user agent (commonly known as an email client) written with the Gtk+ widget set. It is geared towards being extremely small and fast, supporting all the common features that users want or need without sacrificing usability or functionality.
Spruces basic feature set includes:
- View, Save, Delete, Expunge, Print, Copy/Move between mailboxes, Reply and Forward messages.
- Compose messages in a simple editor with word-wrap. Allows inserting text files into the editor to save composition time through a menu option. Supports adding file attachments via toolbar button.
- Easy manipulation of mailboxes and messages using both menus and drag-and-drop technology.
- Address book to keep a list of long or frequently used addresses.
- New mail checking at the press of a button or on a set timer.
Spruce supports MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions), an Internet Standard for representing multipart and multimedia data in email. Spruce allows you to save MIME objects to files. Spruces message composer does not currently have integral multimedia capability, but any type of data file (including multimedia) can be attached to a text message and sent using MIMEs encoding rules. This allows any group of individuals with MIME-capable mail software (e.g. Spruce, Kmail, Pine, or many other programs) to exchange formatted documents, spreadsheets, image files, etc, via Internet email.
At the present time, spruce uses its own SMTP interface to send mail. Future versions may support the ability to have an external program like Sendmail send messages as an alternative.
Spruce currently supports several different methods of mail retrieval. Currently supported are: POP (POP3, APOP, and POP with CRAM-MD5 Authentication), IMAP (also supports CRAM-MD5 Authentication) and mbox (mbox is the standard UNIX mail format. These mailboxes are commonly found in /var/spool/mail and/or in the users home directory: ~/mbox).

• The today pane can now be displayed in calendar mode and task mode as well
• CalDAV support and interoperability with various CalDAV servers has been improved
• iMip/iTip support (support for email invitations) has been greatly improved
• The application stability and memory consumption has been greatly improved
• Lightning 0.9 is intended to be the last release for the Thunderbird 2 series. For the future we are planning to integrate Lightning fully into the upcoming Thunderbird 3 release

MiniUPnP Client and Daemon is an UPnP IGD client lightweight library and UPnP IGD daemon.
The UPnP protocol is supported by most home adsl/cable routers and Windows 2K/XP. The aim of the MiniUpnp project is to bring a free software solution to support the "Internet Gateway Device" part of the protocol.
The Linux SDK for UPnP devices (libupnp) seems too heavy for me. I want the simplest library possible, with the smallest footprint and no dependencies to other libraries such as XML parsers or HTTP implementations. All the code is pure ANSI C.
Compiled on a x86 PC, the miniupnp client library have less than 15KB code size. For instance, the upnpc sample program is around 20KB.
The project is divided in two main parts : the client library, enabling applications to access the services provided by an UPnP "Internet Gateway Device" present on the network, and the miniupnpd daemon, providing these services to your network from a linux or bsd box being the gateway. At the moment the miniupnpd is developped on OpenBSD 3.0+ with pf. You can see some of the work I have done to integrate with pf on this page.
As pf is also available under FreeBSD, guys at the pfSense project have ported miniupnpd to this system.
For some reasons, it may be not the good solution for you to use the code from the MiniUPnP project directly.
As the code is small and simple to understand, it is a good base to take inspiration for your own UPnP implementation. The KTorrent team UPnP plugin in C++ is a good example.

Usefulness of the miniUPnP client library
The usage of the miniUPnP client library is useful whenever an application needs to listen for incoming connections.
Examples : P2P applications, FTP clients for active mode, IRC (for DCC) or IM applications, network games, any server.
The typical usage of UPnP capabilities of a router is a file tranfert using MSN messenger. The MSN Messenger software uses the UPnP API of Windows XP to open port for incoming connection. To mimic the MS software, it is a good idea to use UPnP as well.

Tiny ERP Web client is a Turbogears/AJAX interface for the enterprise management software Tiny ERP.

The project supports all features of the GTK client and connects to the Tiny ERP server using XML-RPC.

mical is a minimal iCalendar toolset, comprised of commandline utilities for interacting with other iCalendar implementations.

This programs are designed for use either directly or via an email client. It relies on two 3rd-party Python modules: python-dateutil and vobject.
