DutchPIPE 0.4.0

DutchPIPE 0.4.0

DutchPIPE is software that enables multi user, object oriented, persistent state web sites. more>>
DutchPIPE is software that enables multi user, persistent state web sites, object oriented and is a whole new perspective of looking at sites and pages.
Theres only one world with one set of objects - if you drop something on a page, someone else can visit that page, see the object, and carry it away elsewhere.
Main features:
Social sites
- Build visualized, real multi-user communities, fora and chat rooms. See your buddies wander around.
E-commerce and site assistant applications
- Make easy-to-use product and shopping cart pages. Have automated and/or real person site assistants stand by to assist your customers and increase sales.
Game environments
- From card games to virtual RPG worlds, DutchPIPE makes it possible.
User areas
- Let people make their own "area" - pages, objects, actions, etc., without technical knowledge.
Site monitoring, snooping
- Track where people are going and what they are doing. Improve your processes. Be invisible, or run DutchPIPE invisible for visitors. Snoop visitors: see an exact copy of a visitors browser window, including mouse movements. Beware of the privacy implications!
Developers platform extraordinaire
- Persistent state, object-oriented building gives way to a whole new way of developing DOM web applications. In other words...
Enhancements:
- An option for using the MDB2 database abstraction layer from PHPs PEAR library was added.
- DutchPIPE now supports MySQL, MySQLi, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Frontbase, Querysim, Interbase/Firebird, MSSQL, and SQLite.
- More administrator commands were added.
- UTF-8 support was debugged.

ExactImage 0.4.0

ExactImage 0.4.0

Exact Image is a fast (and soon modern and generic) image processing library. more>>
Exact Image is a fast (and soon modern and generic) image processing library. For a client we had to optimize the insane time imagemagick spent on certain image processing tasks. After the first code review it became clear that imagemagick was coded for anything but speed.
We protoyped the needed code in C++, just for speed, and archived processing times about 1/20 of what imagemagick consumes.
It is intended to become a modern, generic (template) based C++ library, when time permits. - Hopefully a viable alternative to ImageMagick.
Enhancements:
- Image segmentation and fuzzy image contour pattern matching were added.
- Support for rendering arbitrary vector pathes and text was added through Anti-Grain-Geometry integration.
- The X- and Y-axis flip optimizations were implemented for 16-bit channels, as well as functions to change contrast, brightness, gamma, hue, saturation, and lightness, and invert images.
- The convolution matrix was exported to the CLI econvert.

AmarokScreenSaver 0.4.0

AmarokScreenSaver 0.4.0

AmarokScreenSaver is an Amarok script which displays information about the currently playing song as a screensaver. more>>
AmarokScreenSaver is an Amarok script which displays information about the currently playing song as a screensaver.

I often use my computer to play music when I am having visitors or when I am just not in front of the monitor. I wanted some way to still be able to see what song was playing. As my TV is connected to the computer I decided to make a screensaver that would do just this. (you dont need to even own a TV to use this script, but my TV is in my living room and my computer is not...)

This script creates an image based on the currently playing song in Amarok, then changes your screensaver to KSlideshow and tells it to display this particular image. It restores your original screensaver settings when you stop the script or exit Amarok.

The script has some basic settings configurable via a dialog:

Party / safe - mode:

The script can be configured to lock the screensaver, you will need your password to return to the desktop. This is great if you are having a party and dont want everybody to use the computer for surfing or changing track every other minute.

DPMS:

I use display power management to turn off my monitor after a given period of time. This did not work well with my idea. Therefore I created an option to turn off DPMS, and turning it back on when the script is exited or Amarok is shut down.

Rotate image placement:

To prevent damage to the screen more than one image (three) can be created and the screensaver will randomly display these images.

gPhoto2 2.4.0

gPhoto2 2.4.0

gPhoto2 is a GNU Digital Camera download software. more>>
gphoto2 is a command line application which enables you to transfer digital photos from almost any serial-port or USB digital camera.

gPhoto2 uses the programming interface provided by libgphoto2.

Digital cameras have the balance of quality, features, and price that appeals to users looking for a fast and convenient way to get images into their PC. You can spend a lot more -- or a lot less -- for one than the $100 to $3000 (or even more) these cost, but you wont like the quality at the low end or the prices at the high end. With digital cameras, the best place to be is in the middle.

No other image-capture option for your computer matches the fun, immediacy, and convenience of a digital camera. Unlike with a scanner, you dont need an preexisting image: A digital camera lets you capture what you see. And unlike film-to-disk services, development is instantaneous: You dont have to wait hours or days before you can use an image on your computer.

Operating a digital camera is also inexpensive, because the only recurring cost is batteries. The cameras storage is reusable once you download a batch of images. And since you dont have to pay for film processing, you can go wild.

Unfortunately, many digital camera manufacturers refuse to share their camera communication specifications with their customers and millions of users who run free operating systems.

This is a big obstacle to development of free photo applications, and it blocks free software developers from writing free programs, that support the same features as the proprietary digital camera programs for Microsoft Windows and MacOS that usually are shipped with the camera. It renders the camera quite useless if you dont run one of those proprietary operating systems.

PMD 4.0

PMD 4.0

PMD is a Java source code analyzer. more>>
PMD is a Java source code analyzer. PMD finds unused variables, empty catch blocks, unnecessary object creation, and more. PMD project includes CPD, a tool to detect chunks of identical code
PMD scans Java source code and looks for potential problems like:
- Possible bugs - empty try/catch/finally/switch statements
- Dead code - unused local variables, parameters and private methods
- Suboptimal code - wasteful String/StringBuffer usage
- Overcomplicated expressions - unnecessary if statements, for loops that could be while loops
- Duplicate code - copied/pasted code means copied/pasted bugs
PMD is integrated with JDeveloper, Eclipse, JEdit, JBuilder, BlueJ, CodeGuide, NetBeans/Sun Java Studio Enterprise/Creator, IntelliJ IDEA, TextPad, Maven, Ant, Gel, JCreator, and Emacs.
Enhancements:
- Fixed bug 1697397 - fixed false positives in ClassCastExceptionWithToArray
- Fixed bug 1728789 - removed redundant rule AvoidNonConstructorMethodsWithClassName; MethodWithSameNameAsEnclosingClass is faster and does the same thing.

UCommon is a lightweight C++ library to facilitate using C++ design patterns even for very deeply embedded applications, such as for systems using uClibc along with POSIX threading support.

For this reason, UCommon disables language features that consume memory or introduce runtime overhead. UCommon introduces some design patterns from Objective-C, such as reference counted objects, memory pools, and smart pointers.

This project introduces some new concepts for handling of thread locking and synchronization.

Taskjuggler is a project management tool for Linux and UNIX system-based operating systems. Whether you want to plan your colleges shifts for the next month or want to build a skyscraper - Taskjuggler is the tool for you.
Instead of clicking yourself painfully through hundreds of dialog boxes you specify your Taskjuggler project in a simple text format. You simply list all your tasks and their dependencies. The resulting schedule is then presented as GANTT chart, Table, HTML, XML or CSV report.
Taskjuggler does not only honor the task interdependencies but also takes resource constrains into account. Using Taskjugglers powerful filtering and reporting algorithms you can create task lists, resource usage tables, status reports, project calendars and project accounting statements.
Main features:
- Automatic scheduling of interdependent tasks with resource conflict solver.
- Powerful project description syntax with macro support.
- Flexible working hours and vacation handling.
- Support for shifts.
- Multiple time zone support.
- Flexible resource grouping.
- Project accounting support.
- Task may have initial costs, finishing costs.
- Resource may have running costs.
- Support for simple profit/loss analysis.
- HTML and XML report generation.
- Support for plan and actual scenario comparisons.
- Project tracking support.
- Groupware support by using a revision control system such as CVS or RCS on the project description files.

Mowyw 0.4.0

Mowyw 0.4.0

Mowyw is a command line driven offline CMS that processes html files with a few special syntax elements. more>>
Mowyw is a command line driven offline CMS that processes html files with a few special syntax elements.
Think of it as a kind of preprocessor system specifically designed for web pages.
Mowyw uses very simple syntax and needs very little time to get used to.
mowyw is written in Perl for Linux and other POSIX compliant systems, but it should work on all platforms that perl runs on, perhaps with slight modifications. It is Open Source Software (GPL) and free of any charge.
What is it not?
mowyw is not an online CMS with a web frontend, sql backend, guestbook and other "fancy" stuff.
Syntax Example
Entire files can be included via the [[include name]] directive.
A menu foo can be included with the item bar as the active item via [[menu foo bar]]. The corresponding menu file might look like this:
< h2 >Navigation< /h2 >
< ul >
[[item bar < li >< a href="bar" {{class="active"}}>Bar< /a >< /li >]]
[[item baz < li >< a href="baz" {{class="active"}}>BaZ< /a >< /li >]]
< /ul >
Where the parts between double braces {{ ... }} only appear in the final file if the menu was called with the matching label.
Enhancements:
- Additional Syntax [% ... %] for tags.
