BitWise Routing Server for Linux 1.7

BitWise Routing Server for Linux 1.7

allows you to accept BitWise connections to multiple computers behind a router. more>> The BitWise Routing Server allows you to accept BitWise connections to multiple computers behind a router. Typically, using a router, you would set up port forwarding on BitWises client port (4137), and specify a single destination IP. This is fine until multiple users behind a router all need to accept incoming connections.
As shown by the picture at right, the Routing Server allows individual users to register themselves with the Routing Server, and then the Routing Server accepts all incoming connections and directs those connections to the appropriate user.
The Routing Server requires that your physical router support port forwarding with a way to specify different external and internal ports (this is sometimes labeled "UPnP" by many common home routers).

Netwatch 1.0c

Netwatch 1.0c

Netwatch is a Linux program created to aid in monitoring Network Connections. more>>
Netwatch is a Linux program created to aid in monitoring Network Connections. It is based on a program called "statnet" but has been substantially modified for its Ethernet emphasis. The project is a dynamic program which displays the Ethernet status based each the connections activity.
It has the capability of monitoring hundreds of site statistics simultaneously. The connections port number (Well Known Service) and destination address are available as well. There are options which allow router statistics to be measured on simple networks (with one router). External network communication is counted and transfer rates are displayed.
Main features:
- Reload feature for periodic saves and clears
- Routing Summaries with character graphics display
- Saves of Routing Statistics for last day of run (min. by min.)
- Freeze display (continue logging) for remote efficiency
- PPP Connectivity Monitoring
- Multiple Interface Support (1 at a time)

HAproxy 1.3.12

HAproxy 1.3.12

HAproxy is a high performance Web load balancer. more>>
HA-Proxy is a TCP/HTTP reverse proxy which is particularly suited for high
availability environments. Indeed, it can :
- route HTTP requests depending on statically assigned cookies ;
- spread the load among several servers while assuring server persistence through the use of HTTP cookies ;
- switch to backup servers in the event a main one fails ;
- accept connections to special ports dedicated to service monitoring ;
- stop accepting connections without breaking existing ones ;
- add/modify/delete HTTP headers both ways ;
- block requests matching a particular pattern ;
It needs very little resource. HAproxy it is event-driven architecture allows it to easily
handle thousands of simultaneous connections on hundreds of instances without risking the systems stability.
Start parameters
There are only a few command line options :
-f < configuration file >
-n < high limit for the total number of simultaneous connections >
-N < high limit for the per-proxy number of simultaneous connections >
-d starts in foregreound with debugging mode enabled
-D starts in daemon mode
-q disable messages on output
-V displays messages on output even when -q or quiet are specified.
-c only checks config file and exits with code 0 if no error was found, or exits with code 1 if a syntax error was found.
-p < pidfile > asks the process to write down each of its childrens pids to this file in daemon mode.
-s shows statistics (only if compiled in)
-l shows even more statistics (implies -s)
The maximal number of connections per proxy is used as the default parameter for each instance for which the maxconn paramter is not set in the listen section.
The maximal number of total connections limits the number of connections used by the whole process if the maxconn parameter is not set in the global section.
The debugging mode has the same effect as the debug option in the global section. When the proxy runs in this mode, it dumps every connections, disconnections, timestamps, and HTTP headers to stdout. This should NEVER be used in an init script since it will prevent the system from starting up.
Statistics are only available if compiled in with the STATTIME option. Its only used during code optimization phases.
Enhancements:
- Content switching is now fully operational using ACLs.
- ACLs can look for matches in path and headers in addition to previously supported criteria.
- Integer comparison is now supported for header values. 15 pre-defined ACLs are provided.
- Error pages can be customized using external files.
- Several bugs have been fixed.
- This version will be maintained as a stable one during further development.

krdm program make easy the configuration and utilization of multiple connection to remote desktops. Its a rdesktop and vnc wrapper. You can configure almost all rdesktop and xtightvncviewer parameter and copy/paste/rename connections. Stores password safely on kwallet, also for vnc. You can save/manage sessions very easily using menu.
Main features:
- Why this project: Im a window clusters administrator, so I need a lot of similar RDP connections open simultaneously. I need to define some connection parameters of rdesktop no other UI give me. I need use local printers, shares and serial ports from RDP connection. I think a lot of people need the same things.
- Why open source: I think someone interested can give me some help inserting USEFUL functions. I believe in innovative power of opensource.
- What this software is: A wrapper of rdesktop with connections management facilities.
- What this software do: Its simple and fast. Permit to create connections defining almost all rdesktop parameters, in particular:
- choosing printers to share from printers available in the system
- choosing serial ports to share with connection (specifying device file)
- choosing folders to share with connection
- start session using single remote application like shell
- Create a simple editable file containing connections configuration
- Fast connection launching and printing error reporting
- Connections management from a list:
- copy connection
- paste connection
- delete connection
- rename connection
- Stores password with kwallet
- Riepilogue of opened connections
- Tray icon for conulting open connection and launching new ones

Lokiwall 0.1.6

Lokiwall 0.1.6

Lokiwall provides an easily manageable Linux firewall with some unique features. more>>
Lokiwall provides an easily manageable Linux firewall with some unique features.
Lokiwall is a firewall script for Linux. In addition to the standard function of easily limiting network traffic, it features dual routing (using two Internet connections simultaniously), connection fail-over, load balancing, traffic control, advanced masquerading, advanced DNAT, and advanced marking (to direct specific traffic to a certain interface).
The advanced features require some kernel patches. The standard features will work on a default Linux system with iptables and iproute2.
In addition to the standard features every firewall should have, this firewall has the following extras:
- Dual routing (Dual Routing gives you the ability to use two internet connections simultaniously)
- Fail Over (When one of two internet connections goes down, the other takes over the full load)
- Load Balancing (When using two internetconnections the slower one will get less traffic)
- Traffic Control (Traffic control is not yet functional in version 0.1)

Net::Proxy 0.07

Net::Proxy 0.07

Net::Proxy is a Perl framework for proxying network connections in many ways. more>>
Net::Proxy is a Perl framework for proxying network connections in many ways.

SYNOPSIS

use Net::Proxy;

# proxy connections from localhost:6789 to remotehost:9876
# using standard TCP connections
my $proxy = Net::Proxy->new(
{ in => { type => tcp, port => 6789 },
out => { type => tcp, host => remotehost, port => 9876 },
}
);

# register the proxy object
$proxy->register();

# and you can setup multiple proxies

# and now proxy connections indefinitely
Net::Proxy->mainloop();

A Net::Proxy object represents a proxy that accepts connections and then relays the data transfered between the source and the destination.

The goal of this module is to abstract the different methods used to connect from the proxy to the destination.
A proxy is a program that transfer data across a network boundary between a client and a server. Net::Proxy introduces the concept of "connectors" (implemented as Net::Proxy::Connector subclasses), which abstract the server part (connected to the client) and the client part (connected to the server) of the proxy.

This architecture makes it easy to implement specific techniques to cross a given network boundary, possibly by using a proxy on one side of the network fence, and a reverse-proxy on the other side of the fence.
